practice

How is our creator involved in our human process of “making something of ourselves” in our lives, and in the lives of others? I said the following to my husband in a conversation:

I think for me, the fact that I am on a material planet makes me think that I should have some material goals that actualize before I die. As long as we are alive we want something measurable to become of it. I just think that is human nature. And unless we get real clear about our values and beliefs… and then make plans…Life gets wasted in the loss of memories and unsung songs.” He said, “I think there’s a poem in there.” My goal is to publish another poetry book in 2024. I have other things to consider around the journey of preparing a collection of poems for another book.

What has spawned some of these discussions is something new I’m doing called “Reluctant Shaman,” and this is a 6 week, free course. We ask and answer a series of 30 questions and 5 per week, as a study group. If anyone here is interested in joining our next group iteration (because it might be on zoom) please send me a message in the contact link on my page.

    1. You are right, Mark! We practice at becoming us, like incarnating. I feel like I am incarnating. I feel like most of me is hidden. Does that make sense? I am here for you to see, but the material aspect of me– is literally just the tip of the iceberg of what is knowledge. Same with you. When you say “That love slowly becoming a flower within us,” i am right with you, blossoming, and sharing this is what matters to me most.

    1. Thank you, Karen. The deliberate attention we pay to our utmost call. I am meditating on finding what is most essential; and for me, it continues to be a process of revealing and contemplation is a big part of it. There’s a discipline I am using to going deeper and helping me focus my efforts. You are very appreciated, Karen. I hope the poetry book does work out. I’m feeling some excitement around it.

  1. As I get older, the possibility of “unsung songs,” has been coming up. I find that I have multiple interests but less energy, so I need to prioritize my time. Exploring pathways and swinging on swings is important, too! 🙂 I’d love to read poetry about these topics.

    1. I don’t know how old you are, Joanna my dear, but the process you speak of hit me in my early thirties. Now in my sixties, even conversational speech is a process of lopping off tangential association after tangential association ~ and still I am left with too much to say!

      1. Thank god. I really put my heart into my comments so I really want them to reach you . Of course I am always having this little tete a tete with you in my head. Feels good 😘

  2. Your 2024 of a new poetry book sounds like a wonderful goal and plan Ka…. And yes we are here to experience.. And we waste so much of our energy instead of getting creative..
Good luck with your Zoom meetings and course….. Sending Big Hugs from England xx ❤ xx

  3. Being an older man who’s life is becoming more consumed with
this and that I find I have less time each day than I had the day before!
It does not seem possible but it’s true Ka!
Your potential project is very interesting however!

    1. Thank you my dear friend. I am doing the first iteration of the “reluctant shaman” as it was shared with me. It’s bringing up wonderful awareness. There is synergy with groups and partners. That’s especially why I’m opening the platform for a wider joining in. There’s always a new level to unveil. Age does have a lot to do with our time management in life, doesn’t it? And, also it doesn’t. I know many who are retired who are very busy. It’s interesting how our time does get consumed regardless of whether or not we make plans, and we want to be so conscious about it. For instance: I value blogging and my relationships here. Thank you, Eddie! I feel so much appreciation for you. ❤

      1. We are always learning. Age does not stop us. Blogging has taught me that the world is
not as big as it appears. People everywhere pretty much do, want, and say the same things no matter the language. Your kindness and generousity is so very encouraging Ka. Bless your heart and soul.

        1. Thank you absolutely, Thank you. Yes, I see what you see. We are all delivering the same message and yearning for the same presence, in any language. More years bring more awareness when living a life in contemplation and awareness. ❤ Thank you, dear Eddie. I graciously receive your blessings and return blessings to you!
