Whatever you do in life in earnest, do it with a certain focus and a determined intent– this precision of mental focus mixes with reality, and profound magick is the resultant matter.

A new moon in Capricorn gives us a sincere opportunity to bring the best of our magick 🪄 into the making.

It’s a potent New Moon in the bone-wielding and earthy stabilizer of Capricorn. Capricorn is a sign with tremendous grit. This Earth sign is ruled by Saturn, the “archetypal “bone mother.” We can build with this energy, emphasized by the newness of the moon and the structural potential of Capricorn. It’s an auspicious beginning, one with grounded potential. It also comes at the END of Saturn in Pisces and after a long series of “28” degree planetary symbolism. This new Moon taps the 28th degree of Capricorn as Saturn “peaces out” Pisces from a 2+ year stay. Neptune also leaves Pisces after @ 14 year stay (Feb 3, 2012).

The 28+ degree is linked to that anaretic “29th” that is echoing in all these lunar patterns, with the real emphasis being on both Saturn and Neptune having been lingering at the 29th, anaretic degree in Pisces. Here’s a list with lunations tied to this similar anaretic pattern: recent and upcoming:

September 21, 2025 — New Moon / Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo at ~29° (≈ 28–29°) — an eclipse lunation hitting that late degree threshold. 

October 21, 2025 — New Moon in Libra at 28°21′. 

November 20, 2025 — New Moon in Scorpio at 28°11′. 

December 19, 2025 — New Moon in Sagittarius at 28°24′. 

January 18, 2026 — New Moon in Capricorn at ~28°44′. 

February 17, 2026 — New Moon / Solar Eclipse in Aquarius at ~28°49′. 

March 18, 2026 — New Moon in Pisces at ~28°27′. 

This is an unusual pattern and it definitely stands out.

Saturn is also known as Cronus in Greek myth, and Chronos by later philosophical and esoteric conflation. The way we work with time can be magickal. That being said, this New Moon is part of Saturn’s exit from Pisces. Since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn, there’s that link again to Saturn’s “last breaths” held in the space and grace of Piscean magickal intention, (and mind-bending.) Pisces rules the imagination and pre-structural realm.

Pisces and Saturn together have created a formal link that is getting more “heated” as it is transitioning into the February Saturn/Pisces-ruled Neptune conjunction in Aries, punctuated with that eclipse in Aquarius (28+ degrees) within days of the conjunction—coming so soon—and ushering in the new pattern of eclipses in Leo/Aquarius that will gradually build in the new directions of the North and South nodes of the moon. How perfect that this February lunation will also bring in the year of the Fire Horse. 🔥 🐴 (to be discussed in future posts). Back to the nodes, then back to NOW.

The nodal change is the indicator of the new thematic trajectory of the past and future continuum.

The New Moon’s energetic charge here, on the 18/19th of January is so concentrated. It’s even moreso with the recent Venus star point activation, during the superior conjunction of the Sun, having happened just days earlier. Days before that with both Venus and Mars in conjunction to the Sun!

This is special and unique astrology.

Again, this lunation chart has such magickal potential written all over it.

If all the above wasn’t enough, I see Mercury conjunct Mars stand out. Applied willpower is steeled via the mental plane (in its highest expression) and made to affect matter— those very structures existing via Saturn and Capricornian order and expression.

In fact, the only “not centered” planet, in this potently energetic “ Capricornian New Moon” stellium-dominant chart, is Jupiter, pulling an opposition to the Mercury/Mars conjunction in Capricorn from the sign of Cancer. To my eyes, this serves to reinforce the focus of the already potent patten in Capricorn. I see Jupiter’s 8 degree orb within interpretative range to act as an amplifier of this aforementioned magickal potential. Like Jupiter is the virtual “wand” pointing right to the Mercury/Mars conjunction, wielding further influence to bring about an effectively focused and positive outcome…
