Virgo 29 Solar Eclipse/Libra Equinox: Make Peace

For some of you, this Solar eclipse will take place on the 22nd (check your local time zone).

Back to the beginning: August 23, 2025

We have been looking at the chart and post from a several weeks ago, called “habitual adjustments” on the Virgo New Moon at 0 degrees of Virgo on August 23, 2025. It was a new moon at the end of August and uniquely kicked off this particular set of eclipses on the Virgo/Pisces axis. Eclipses correspond to the nodes of the moon which are 18 year cycles that astrologically focus on a set of opposing signs or axis. This upcoming eclipse on September 21, 2025 will be in conjunction to the S.Node of the Moon in Virgo. The S.Node in astrology deals with karmic issues from the past. The N.Node in astrology relates to the future and the trajectory of the soul’s evolution, and its sign and placement suggests where to focus those energies to bring them into balance. What is unique about these eclipses is the contrast of past/future with relationship to the nodes. Usually the lunar eclipse is associated with a “release/loss/revelation” from the past whereas the N. Node is associated with the karmic potential for creating a new future. The September 7, 2025 Lunar Eclipse in Virgo was tied to the N.Node of the Moon in Pisces. So, it represented both an ending and a beginning–simultaneously. I’ll recap that again in the next sections. It’s similar with this Solar Eclipse where the eclipse will be connected to the S. Node of the karmic past–an ending and a beginning simultaneously. What is showing up here (and with both eclipses) is the potential for deeply inventing the new trajectory for the soul through releasing the karma experiences of the past.

Back to the September 7, 2025 lunar eclipse in Virgo, there was the lunar eclipse in Pisces (check the time for your current location). My post titled “Release Illusions to Activate the Essential Dream explored the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in more depth because it’s very strongly figuring into these eclipses energies and I stated my case over on that post as to why and how the energies ultimately will loop us into the February 2026 *exact* conjunction. The themes to briefly recap are (from both my posts):

  • Dream vs. Reality
  • Making dreams into Reality
  • Feeling forced to give up dreams by Saturn limitations
  • Uncertainty about what is fantasy and what is real
  • Saturnian discipline helping to parse out and work out Neptunian dreams and ideals: Vision to Form
  • Daydreams and escapes of fantasy— and Saturnian consequences!
  • New forms of artistic inspiration (Neptune) with different forms (Saturn)
  • Saturn/Neptune conjunct is asking: “What really is possible here?”

Along with the Saturn/Neptune synodic cycle’s influence on these two eclipse points, there are interesting aspect formations that have been the subject of my commentary. The most interesting of which is going to be for this upcoming Solar Eclipse at 29 Degree Virgo.

But, let’s recap first: August 23, 2025

For the Virgo New Moon chart at 0 Virgo, I commented on the “YOD,” or “finger of God” aspect formation, which is called that because it looks like a skinny triangle pointing with its vertex on “the tip of the finger.” It’s created by two planets in sextile (60 degree) aspect to each other, but both pointed to the vertex of a 3rd point which is created by two quincunx or (150 degree angles– considered awkward and requiring adjustment for both sides). It’s known to bring discomfort. It’s “pain or relief point” can be seen at the vertex—where the finger of God is pointing at. It’s the point of recognized tension or signals the area of release for it.

For the New Moon Virgo 0 degree chart, I wrote about how “one tiny change” can bring the adjustment to the entire experience. My suggestion was to look at developing a new habit of mind. I referenced the book, “The Extended Mind: The power of thinking outside of the brain,” by Annie Murphy Paul. I also related the astrological remedy to Joe Dispenza’s body of work, but more specifically to “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to lose your mind and create a new one.”

Sept 7, 2025

This Lunar Eclipse in Pisces was conjunct the N.Node in Pisces. It ushered in a lot of of loss and surrendering potential–very Piscean. Many friendships ended and new awareness came out around relationships and the opinions that people harbored, either publicly or personally. Events and how people responded to them polarized people all the more. What I focused on when I wrote was specifically the spiritual potential and the potential for the soul in this life to create its dream potential; first through loss. The loss I suggested with the Lunar Eclipse was the release of illusions and delusions. I see them as blocking the way to the “real vision” or dream. My post was titled, “Release Illusions to Activate the Essential Dream.” In this post, I asked us to deeply consider what delusions could be revealed that hold us back from realizing the dreams which call to our soul. This soul’s call is very Piscean/Neptunian. It is unique to each one of us. Each eclipse point, for that matter, will activate different aspects of our individual natal charts, progressed charts, and various versions and vision of the signature moment of our incarnations. The soul’s dream is not an addiction nor a passing illusion. It’s something stable and real. It is something that may exist ethereally but then to become real with true “blood, sweat, and tears.” I began to discuss how the planet Saturn featured into this Lunar Eclipse. Saturn, however, will be an even stronger character/archetype in this Solar Eclipse on the 21st.

Saturn/Neptune cycle and *exact* conjunction in February 2026

The Solar Eclipse followed by the Libra Equinox will have us releasing and likely have that release tied to a collaboration or a new way of relating with others (Libra). The Libra energy here is powerful and shouldn’t be glossed over because of this eclipse. This eclipse is also at the very last degree of Virgo, which could suggest that some or a little of these negative Virgoic traits are ready to be dumped and moved on from:

  • Perfectionism
  • Being overly critical
  • Extreme anxiety
  • Body pains and mental-body miasms
  • Hyper-focus on negativity or what isn’t working
  • Fastidious to a fault
  • Skeptical to the point of depression
  • Workaholicism

Also, there could be the development or solidification of new, healthier habits and life-style practices.

Now for the Solar Eclipse followed by the Libra Equinox

This Solar Eclipse as I led into in my last astrological post is directly in opposition to the planet Saturn: the archetype of boundaries, wisdom, the hierophant, old age, strain, struggle, and burden. Saturn transiting Pisces has been a “clean up” job leftover from before. At the end of May, Saturn had transited into Aries bringing in a whole new set of energies. But, before Saturn could stay for its approx 2.5 years in Aries, it retrograded back into Pisces on Sept. 1, 2025. In February 2025, Saturn will once again re-enter Aries again and that’s when it will be co-joining Neptune. Neptune entered Aries for the first time this year, which is another major reason this year has been so impactful. I only wrote one line about it for the Solar Eclipse post in Aries, because those events corresponded together. When Neptune began its transit in Aries for the first time, the energy was strongly forward moving. Neptune began its retrograde in the beginning of July, 2025. So, as you can see: there’s more work for both Neptune and Saturn to do in the sign of Pisces before moving fully into Aries for long stays. For Neptune, its stay in Aries will be approx 14 years. For Saturn, its stay in Aries will be approx 7 years. These are major trends. Remember, Pluto recently entered Aquarius in 2023 (March– Aries Month!), and its stay in Aquarius is approx 20 years!

More specific to the Solar Eclipse (Virgo 29) depends on where the eclipse is occurring as it relates to your natal chart. However, bringing in that same energy of a cleared mental state will be helpful. There is a grand air trine with the planet Mercury, which rules Virgo. As I discussed the fresh Pluto in Aquarius in the previous paragraph and in previous posts, the energy of novelty, humanity, technology, and unconventional adaptations is in harmonious (or fast) flow with Mercury in Libra (question of balance and law/justice) with Uranus in Gemini (speech, local connections, logistics). We have laser fast communication taking place. The voices are very loud and regular, and that’s probably going to continue. Jimmy Kimmel was just taken off the air in the United States as the limits of satire were curtailed by governmental pressures placed on media/business.

There’s also a yod pointing at Mars in Libra at the 29th, anaretic (final) degree. Mars enters Scorpio right at the start of the Autumnal Equinox! This suggests to me that much of what is happening out loud and in the general public will be taken underground and into secret. For us more personally, the energy of Mars gets deepened in Scorpio, and we are being asked to “transform” our energies in the way we assert (Mars) ourselves.

This post is titled “Make Peace” because the Virgo craftsmanship energy puts the magic back in your hands. How do you want to design your work, your relationships, and the way you practice your self care?

Libra Equinox

The pretty equinox chart shows us with another kite formation, but this time: the Sun, Vertex, and Mercury will all be in the grand air trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. . The opposition here will be a nearly exact between the Vernal Equinox Sun (Libra) and Neptune (Aries), and then to a slightly lesser degree to Saturn (which is out of sign in Pisces). If this isn’t a call to action to have your Neptune (dreams) include some collaboration, balance and mutual participation (Libra) then I don’t know what else would. We are all most likely really craving the relationships that most leave us feeling seen and connected, and in a way where we can be honest about our opinions without getting into heated debates or shifting into dismantling every relationship. However, if you do have to terminate some relationships, this is definitely a step in the direction of balancing boundaries (Saturn) with your new revelations and visions (Neptune) for a more harmonious (Libra) future. It might not seem like we are headed towards peace. But inwardly, we absolutely need to do the reckoning that will make the peace more accessible, available, achievable, and at least more likely. We can turn to Saturn to continue to help us move through the discomfort with commitment to the higher goal (Neptune).

Transits for the remainder of the month:

19th – Mercury in Libra trines retrograde Uranus in Gemini and retrograde Pluto in Aquarius (Grand Air Trine); Venus enters Virgo
20th – Venus in Virgo square retrograde Uranus in Gemini
21st – Sun in Virgo opposite retrograde Saturn in Pisces; Partial Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo
22nd – Mars enters Scorpio; Sun enters Libra (Autumn Equinox)
23rd – Sun in Libra opposite retrograde Neptune in Aries
24th – Sun in Libra completes Grand Air Trine with retrograde Uranus in Gemini and retrograde Pluto in Aquarius; Mars in Scorpio square retrograde Pluto in Aquarius

The 24th (and within a day or two) is likely to be a “tough” day. Give yourself some EXTRA TLC. The best advice, always, is to stay out of the hype, and to recognize the nuance — look for it. Keep your mind open to possibilities, and when you feel like shutting down: take a solid time out. Giver yourself Grace!

Wishing you all the best navigation abilities throughout all the choppy waters we encounter, and know that the spots of sunshine continue to come our way as we are living in times of tremendous change and uncertainty. We have all the more ‘reason’ to strengthen our sails, fly our kites, and build our vessels out of the most resilient materials of the mind.

Know your vision, and seek clarity within it. Hold true to the vision, and go! Let what falls away part with grace.

Fly the kite: Aquarius full Moon 2025

In astrology world, we have been looking at the grand trine formation of Uranus in Libra, connecting with Pluto in Aquarius, connecting with Mars in Libra. Everyone will have their own interpretation of this. The astrological wisdom is to to say that a trine is the “easy flow” between energies or aspects of consciousness tied to these planets as archetypal themes in our matrix. The kite is further formed because of the Mars opposition to Saturn: Mars in Libra is on the opposite sign/side of Saturn in Aries. Saturn isn’t by itself either–its been working through “Dream/Illusion/Spiritual Transcendance” Neptune. Saturn and Neptune are one of the most talked about transits because they won’t come into exact conjunction until February 2026. They are currently retrograde in Aries, soon to go back into Pisces, and then will go direct again and head into Aries for the full, long stay. Neptune the further away planet will be in Aries for a very long time, approx 14 years. So its trend is much more persistent.

Themes for Saturn/Neptune conjunction — (that has been squaring all the Cancer planets one by one through transit.)

  • Dream vs. Reality
  • Making dreams into Reality
  • Feeling forced to give up dreams by Saturn limitations
  • Uncertainty about what is dream and what is real
  • Saturnian discipline helping to parse out and work out Neptunian dreams and ideals
  • Daydreams and escapes of fantasy— and Saturnian consequences
  • New forms of artistic inspiration (Neptune) with different forms (Saturn)
  • and the possibilities go on? For example: Saturn/Neptune conjunct is asking: “What really is possible here?”

The bottom part of the Kite is another harmonious aspect with Uranus in Sextile to Pluto. Sextile, is just 60 degrees and yes, the metaphor is “as above so below,” so a sextile aspect in astrospeak is a productive energy of communication between themes of novelty (Uranus) and transformation (Pluto).

This early week, upcoming, we also have a beautiful conjunction with Venus in Jupiter August 12, right after Mercury stations direct on August 11. That plays into the fold as Venus and Jupiter make their annual conjunction this year in the sign of Cancer. The place where the sun just was! Family is soooo important. It takes center stage importance. Jupiter amplies. Venus softens and beautifies. Venus wants to relate and create. We are best to lean into our comforts, to help make lives more comfortable for others, and to get settled into the big feelings that come up with a lot of Cancer-type energy. Thus, in comes the perfect balancing support:

The Aquarius Full Moon

I’m delighted to say that a good Aquarius Full Moon can help with detachment. It helps us to get a bird’s eye view and step aside the very intense yet meaningful energies of all the other planetary happenings. We have also more support from the stars. This is a magnificent time of the year where the Perseids are streaming like the best annual show you ever saw! If we take a moment to look up at the stars in the expanse of the dark night, we get to see, truly see, our connection within the cosmos and it’s not a mystery, completely, this science of space and meteors affecting our planet’s experience! I hope you can enjoy!

*images from wallpaperaccess.com free milkyway wallpaper

One beautiful Full Moon is not going to eliminate all our problems, but alas, it might help us to get some distance from them. When that happens, the spaciousness can lend itself to some new energies which can give rise to new experiences and maybe, just maybe, that can help you to take a break, or make a break for some better experience.

I wanted to have more time to find some better videos and write a better post, but this is what was available. I hope you all enjoyed! Let me know in the comets if you are gonna get a change to see the Perseids this year. I am going to miss them at my favorite viewing spot, but I hope to see them next year!

Happy Star Gazing! Thanks for all the Birthday Wishes. I’ve got Aquarius Rising and S. Node in Aquarius so this Full Moon leaves me a bit satisfied to take a step back and feel some SPACE.

(My typos were almost perfect 😉 , esp at the end, so I left them! ) comet fully. 😂

You are here! 🌎🌍🌏 Cancer Full Moon 🌕

The Full Moon in Cancer

Welp, here we are. We are at the start of the New Year with the Lunar New Year just around the corner. It will be a bit of the “Take two” and a chance to rewrite the solar year’s less “organic” start to the year. Whether you are a fan of the Sun or the Moon, it’s a bit like being a dog or a cat lover. Some are both. I would put myself in that camp. While I am allergic to cats (or was, long story not for now), I did have a dog who was golden like the sun, a retriever. We did actually have a kitten named “Brendy” who ran away. The kitten and puppy did play together, actually.

I loved them both. I was so sad when Brendy bolted. Maybe an animal got her. One day she just didn’t respond to her name being called. My heart still aches for the little girl who called to her trying so hard to make her voice like a magical lasso to reel the kitten back into the fold. We love you. I love you. I wanted my love to reach her. I tried so hard, called louder, tried different inflections.

But now, it’s 2025.

I’m a dog and cat lover for different reasons. I think cats and dogs should get along but I understand why most don’t. I’m also a sun and moon lover. Probably because my sun is in Leo (its domicile) and my moon is in Cancer (its domicile). I guess you could say “I’m at home.”

That’s what this cancer full moon is all about but with a twist. The energy is mega intense. We have Mars and Pluto acting very strongly in this Full Moon chart.

Not my most amazing photo but clearly the moon is Vivid and Full

The Sun is nearly next to Pluto and the Moon is paired with Mars. This adds some spiciness to the familiar, the comforts, and tension with Pluto. We are here to grow and stretch ourselves and in the midst of that find and define home.

Right now so many people in Los Angeles are suffering through losses, bad fumes and devastation. Over night people have lost their homes and insurances have bailed. They are without. It wrenches my heart to think that people are suffering like this.

Look for the helpers. This moon is all about the helpers and finding them and fueling them to do what they can do best: understand NEEDS.

The sign of Cancer is very explicit in pointing to and differentiating needs from wants. Mars is here, though. There can be urgency.

Settling the nervous system is always a good idea but maybe it will help to use this Moon’s wisdom to get ever more clearer about those body and emotional needs. Get clear about your physiological needs around peace and calm so you can be more clear about triggers and irritations as they arise and are bodily expressed.

My focus is to point out that Uranus, the Awakener, here is positively interacting with BOTH the Sun and Moon. This is opportunity to enlighten around what changes in consciousness can be made to make home more what it should be, more what suits your comforts and needs to settling, needs for sleep and calm. Also, Uranus is in Taurus helping to awaken the senses to be more in tune with how to distribute the energies. What colors and sounds are soothing for you? There much to explore to become more in alignment with those daily needs that Cancer full moon 🌝 needs to get cozy.

I’d love to hear from you. Share your experiences and desires here. Mars’ presence with the Full Moon is going to be giving you messages around your energy level fluctuations, motivations, and more. There is so much beauty in how we strive for the sake of our families and the love in community we extend from our family into the greater world. How can we expand the cozy bubble? Can we become closer friends with the foes experienced through our environment?

These are some thoughts to work with.

💗

Here’s a cute aside: My daughter’s calendar has the moon on it and we are talking about how the symbols on the calendar represent the Full Moon for today and how approximately a week from now it will be a “half moon” as she called it, and then approx a week after that on the 29th, a new moon. “Blank.” On the calendar it’s pictured as a dark circle. It’s so fun that she’s naturally interested and attentive to the moon as it corresponds on the calendar. She noticed it herself. Just 5 years old and her observation skills are getting ready! She’s getting the tools and soon she can apply and make note of what she discovers!

Narrative discussion:

This exercise of posting every day with the theme of a Tao Te Ching passage to be revealed at the end of the month… is a lot of fun 🤩

I’m already beginning to come up with a theme for the month of December. Reading blogs and interacting adds a lot to my life. During this time of holiday seasons, being cozy at home stirs my senses with creativity and rest: the perfect combination. I feel so comfortable and at home. I’m nurturing this feeling by being in this space at this time of year. Meanwhile I’m planning book reading from lovely authors I know through blogging as well.

Astrology:

New moon in Scorpio ♏️ is coming up on November 13. It touches exactly our family’s charts, so it’s a pleasure to share as the cosmic growth continues to happen. Mars features strongly and pulling an opposition to Uranus in Taurus ♉️. Uranus is known as the “unpredictable” one, expressly surprises us in ways that can fast-track our path forward and/or toward enlightenment. Jupiter shares the sign Taurus ♉️ during this transit. The energy is all about building and expansion, solidity—and, it’s opposite. We are undergoing deep transformational processes (but I don’t think you need me to tell you that.).

Why astrology? It’s “added.” It’s a bonus way to track your journey. After all, the Earth is flying through the solar system. It’s natural to look out the window and read the signs. Sure, you can do it all with your eyes closed (but that’s just not as much fun!)

Strong Book Recommendation (SBR)- my new acronym:

Hello all,

I’m in the thick of a great book – i read a lot of great books, all of the time… (as do you, I’m sure!) but this one made me want to get to word out very quickly to everyone in reach.  It’s perfect for Zone living or flow living (several authors have been writing about flow) – anyways being involved in a number of paradigms (and fields of influence), while having been in the cross-roads of many of them, and weaving together my own tapestry of wholistic thought and practice, well; it has taken a lot of investment on my part to acquire, open my mind, and then to integrate and share my sources in the networked brain language way that is uniquely me. This book I am bringing forward in mid-stream, haven’t integrated any of it yet (okay, maybe some) – when I took my first leap in 2007.

Anyways, without further ado: I strongly recommend those who are wishing to expand – to read: The Big Leap, by Gay Hendricks

When I first encountered Gay and Katie Hendricks, it was in one of those emails I signed up for several years ago – when my consciousness expansion was rounding a new corner. I probably listened to one of the free web-conferences when they were just budding into a field of opportunity that many are still capitalizing on.

Anyways,

I’m still working on photographs (in my mind), astrology updates (in the ethereal, too), and going back into my deep dive – pulling a swan dive for this one, so I have to really work on my physical body to get that grace and elegance flowing and ready to be channeled….

Love you all!

Ka

P.S. I’d like to add that this book is a good recommendation for the Mars/Pluto conjunction that is currently taking place in Capricorn. I have (Mars/Pluto) natally in Libra (a nice square for me – even ‘extra’ pressure to ‘transform’) and for me is works well with this book – that 12th house is all about the unconscious…. this book is all about (the rest of the title): “Conquer your hidden fear and take life to the next level.” Anyways, I believe that no matter where in your chart is the Mars/Pluto conjunction that we are all experiencing… this book will help you get past what Gay call’s your (ULP) – Upper Limit Problem.

Vernal Equinox, Part II: A Profound Start

Image

Title Unknown. Painted by Andrew Salgado

As the Sun enters Aries 0.00, it trines retrograde Saturn in Scorpio. Some conventional astrology will have us working on our experience with father and fatherhood. Other Saturn-style manifestations could be teachers, people in positions of authority with the ability to guide or restrict our movements.

All this Vernal Equinox energy of initiation in Aries-ruled Mars can find anchoring in the Saturn/Moon conjunction in Scorpio. Saturn stabilizes (stills), Moon emotes (moves), and the trine to the fiery Martian Sun pierces the veil of shallowness. In Scorpio, we dive deeply into experiences, and dwell for as long as necessary to bring about transformation (Scorpio).

Do we dedicate (Saturn) ourselves to such a task? Do we have the support and leadership?

The joining of Fire and Water can heat up the water, or make it boil over. The choice is always yours in this version of astrology. I think that’s a good platform for an Aries beginning. Grow in the direction you want, and find the supports/structure (Saturn) to help you, expect your experiences to be deep (Scorpio) and long lasting (Saturn).

This new energy is exciting, and… we can sense how it’s deeper than we may have originally saw or thought.

Mars Sacred Geometry: The Pattern and the Process

Image

(image: http://strangesounds.org/2014/01/sacred-geometry-the-planets-dance-to-the-music-of-the-cosmos.html)

Astrology defined by prominent astrologer Marc Edmund Jones is “the science of all beginnings.” (qtd. in Rudhyar, 1972)

In an astrological chart, Mars shows us about the way a person initiates. But, if we stop there in our understanding, we may miss the full Mars ‘Cycle.’  After all, astrology is very much about the study of initiation, and understanding the cycles is key to the process of understanding what initiation even means. So, we need context.

With astrology, we are always asking when is it a good time for ____________?

If you’ve ever jumped on a merry-go-round at a playground when you were a child, you’d probably have found that you spent some time at the perimeter, tracking the movements of the wheel for a moment, to get a good indication for the speed of the wheel, before deciding on the precise moment to take your leap. You wanted to find that precise moment when you could be most certain that you’d clear handle-bars or another person, and land safely on your target.

You needed to see the full cycle of the wheel in order to recognize its pattern of movement. Then, you could derive the speed of the wheel, and therefore your own mechanics of speed and timing, in order to achieve the success of getting on the ride uninjured while it’s moving. Our ability to recognize patterns is essential on a day-to-day basis; we need pattern recognition to analyze and understand our environments, even just to handle our own body mechanics!

According to Stephen Few, consultant and instructor at the University of California at Berkeley, “our visual sense is highly tuned to spot patterns, and this natural ability can be trained to achieve even greater levels of acuity.” That is, we are recognizing patterns all the time at work, and in the world around us.  Most of the time we unconsciously understand and organize the data we receive from everyday interactions, to draw conclusions. This, According to Few, is something that everyone can improve upon.

improvements result primarily from learning which of the many possible patterns in data are meaningful to your work and then also learning—through practice—to spot these patterns quickly, even in a dense forest of visual noise. As with all skills, practice in pattern recognition is required to move from average ability to true expertise. (Few, n.d. Perceptual Edge)

Now, the only way that I know of to improve pattern recognition is through observation. Sometimes we need tools, such as computer software, to help us do this. We definitely need the expertise of those who have come before us to contribute to the knowledge database of information regarding what has been observed.  A lot of research has been done in many cases, and we need not reinvent the wheel.

While in some contexts, Astrology is still very much an art, made up of rich symbolism and analogy. It takes a gifted visionary to be able to delineate information intuitively. It also, like Rudhyar writes, takes science, because science is a process for discovery.

Nodal axis moved from Sco-Tau to N.Node in Libra and S. Node in Aries

Image

In honor of this switching of the tides, I thought I’d write a little something about it. According to my trusty ephemeris, the nodes changed into Aries/Libra on February 20, 2014.  While some of the new energies and themes may seem to have really changed the tone of our surrounding relationship themes, the new Libra/Aries nodal positions will be in effect up to October of 2015.

The nodal positions in our birth chart show our soul’s past and future trajectories. While this may sound like fate/destiny, it’s really only so in the sense that we are working with archetypes. There’s so much room for movement and interpretation in this expression of the archetype—such as is with astrology.

What the changing nodal positions indicate is theme for all relationships and outcomes. In essence, the nodes express the focal point for the One’s evolution, and therefore consciousness taken as a whole.

Libra/Aries changes the tone quite a bit from Scorpio/Taurus. Perhaps we’ve taken things as far as they can go “on our own.” We’ve may have even triumphed with the energy of individuality and with Uranus currently sitting in Aries, there’s been a lot of electricity and inspiration in self-motivation—but it’s also been a lot more erratic. Where’s the balancing point? What’s the unifying piece, the “key-stone” in togetherness?

This is what it means to have the North nodal position in the sign of Libra.  It means that we are working on making things more pleasant for ourselves and for those around us. We are more interested in developing social graces and tactfulness. The idea and the goal is for the expression of the individual, Aries, energy to find ‘peace’ within the Libra framework of beauty. This, in essence, is the balancing of the masculine ‘within’ the feminine.

Mars as ruler of Aries has been in Libra for an extended stay. The energy of Mars has been bubbling to the surface in little spits and fits. Underlying is the need for expression in a socially acceptable way. The planet is healing this anger and the boundaries put in place by Scorpio/Taurus arrangements.

July 29, 2013 Star of David

This configuration goes by many names due to its historic use and geometric shape: Solomon’s Seal, star tetrahedron, diamond tetrahedron, and more generically described as a ‘hexagram’ or six-sided figure. It is also called a ‘Grand Sextile’ in astrology. Some have even referred to this special configuration as the “MerKaBa,” or gate. Any of these key terms you can google and find oodles of information from all different sources. Take your pick.

Now regarding the SOD configuration’s astrological meaning, I’ve been aware of different astrologers’ opinions regarding this configuration. Many are ‘playing it up’ in importance (because it is so unique that it must signify something) but without a lot written on what the configuration portends other than the historically surmised “birth of a king,” you are unlikely to find a standard astrology-by-book interpretation.

Perhaps even more intriguing, is that many astrologers are glossing over SOD, merely mentioning it with no real emphasis. For instance, the astrologer Susan Miller feels that there’s a missing moon phase to kick this massive energetic aspect into gear. You can see her website at astrologyzone.com. I partly agree with her. Though this configuration may come and go with some silence on the subject, it is certainly not due to lack of its power.

What will it mean? I cannot honestly say what it will mean, on a personal level, nor for identities such as countries, nor for what it means to the global community. But, I will say that I feel it to be a “dawning.”  SOD in the sky is like a stamp of unknown official meaning. Do what you will with it. In fact, it is like a gateway of truly palpable and powerful energy that orders itself like a lock and key (perfect fit), and just commands the beginning of a new era. What is commanded?

SOD symbolism is ancient – that’s for sure – and it’s potentially even more ancient than its use by the Hebrews whose 22- character alphabet is said to be actually hidden within the star ( Magen David or Shield of David. The Star has been used in the sacred geometry of matter, with its meaning in alchemy as the joining of Fire (upward facing triangle) and Water (downward facing triangle). In the Indian tradition, SOD represents the Sat-Kona, or Lord Krishna’s abode, referred to as the Star of Goloka. Tantra has even claimed some meaning of the SOD as a sacred yantra representing the merging of Shiva and Shakti, the divine masculine and feminine principles in the universe. Wow. That’s some meeting!

Perhaps this Star of David configuration best reminds us that the universe is so complex and permutable, and our experience of it is more than just the fluctuation of dualities (good and bad aspects), but a meaningfully woven experience with a central purpose and sacred harmony. ‘Be Still and Know that I AM God.’  Our experiences on earth are processes by which we refine our soul and polish our mirror. This seal is about the light of the soul, its ability to stay on the path, guided by inner stillness and openness to All that Is. The triangle of water is represented with Saturn in Scorpio, Mars and Jupiter in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces. The triangle of earth is represented by Venus in Virgo, Moon in Taurus, and Pluto in Capricorn.

Mars Conjunct Jupiter in Cancer

Mars is energetic, provides the drive for action, the passion, and the impulse to act. Jupiter is about great expansion, philosophy, long distances, and optimism. Both planets are currently transiting together in the sky. There’s a few different ways this can play out. For example, the focused energy of mars can become diffused, and you end up with some laziness. Jupiter and Mars in Cancer like to reflect on the past.

Mars is debilitated in Cancer – meaning it’s not the best sign for Mars to act like Mars. Perhaps there’s a lot of sentimentality and emotionalism surrounding the past, the family, or the mother. Maybe energies are frustrated that are tied up with home projects. Even if the energies aren’t frustrated, there’s likely to be a lot of activity around the home and family, and in people’s private lives. Capricorn is the sign for public life, structure, and maintaining and keeping appearances. Cancer is Capricorn’s opposite, with the private life as its domain.

The presence of Jupiter usually brings optimism, good luck, and a deeper yearning to connect with the ancients, timeless wisdom. Jupiter’s essence is abundance itself.

Mars conjunct Jupiter is an aspect that is part of a much larger configuration which culminates by the end of the month into the ‘Star of David’ on July 29th.
