Visual art can even be a little bit different from poetry— otherwise, I’d only “do” poetry. This comes from a need and a place, as does anything, it flows from a source, sometimes unknown.
With this, we allow it to influence you as it may.
Intention is more nuanced and Freeform here. Abstraction is prioritized. Different kinds of visual arts, too: different purposes and reasons. I like to do many kinds of those/these arts as well.
If this piece and presentation were the analytical sort, I’d be wanting to know “does this look real?” In this case, however, it is a just the beginning of a new way of ‘expression’ from source. Turn it around if you want. See if anything else elucidates or arises. It’s not meant to, but just in case! 😆
I liked your use of the word “linking,” along with those
chosen string of words. Thank you 🙂
There is a drawing to go with “Three Torches,” which is buried somewhere in my posts, or on (probably the first, without checking) page of poems on the website.
Should say, I can’t recall if I posted the picture…
Glad we took this conversation forward and I was able to revisit your lovely drawing! Wishing you well today and every day…
Interesting how it reminds you of a style you used to do! Things are just going through different processes over here. It’s a little bit different than anything I have done before. There’s been a lot held back over the years and it’s flowing more gradually now. 🙂🕉️☯️ I live the yin and yang of it all.
Right where you need to be! 😉
I was so lucky to have an art teacher in high school who was so prolific and exposed us to so many different art forms! The art room was my place of refuge. If teachers couldn’t find me…they knew where to look! hahaha
Hope you have a brilliant day!
Thanks! I can say exactly the same for me in high school art. Also I won a billboard contest and design. Got to pose up high with my billboard and receive a stipend. I also got some other regional governor’s school scholarships and unique opportunities to study with various masters. It was an amazing time for me in my early years. I did an installation piece for a traveling Flux exhibit. I did a commissioned piece/painting an architectural watercolor as a gift for a hospital CEO. My photography was even chosen to be displayed at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.! Those early years were very full of art and so many phases and expressions! Fortunately when I was younger I received a lot of recognition for my work.
I wish you also a brilliant and lovely day filled with all the creativity and flare of your heart’s desire.
Wow!! Ka!! What a celebration of your creativity!! I love that you shared all of that. I have to say that even though I niched my target audience down to women writers, the work stands true for all creators. And what I found is that MANY writers also have other creative interests!! But the thing about it is exactly what you wrote above. We are immersed in our art (whatever form that may be) in our youth, and we create prolifically. And then something happens. It was really amazing to work with the women in my experience, and I learned as much from them as I brought to the table.
I am so happy that you feel the flow and that you are in that creative field!! Thanks for sharing your all of your achievements – it does not surprise me!!!
❤
I seem to see linking, forming faces, merging, neither quite the other nor separate. I do not know if that was your intent, but…
Perspectives, in visual art, as well as in poetry…

I just want my art to mingle and transform. 🙏🏼
So “linking” is quite appropriate.
My father was an artist, though did little abstract. That tended to be more my “thing.”
Who knows what the spirit infuses into such designs – any way up.
Sounds like you are probably well versed in this dialogue, too! 🙂
Maybe some art in your poetry and some poetry in your art? 🖼️ an invitation, perhaps? Or just a thought. 💭 ?
