There is nothing to seek
lest one seek the wind and
aim to put it in his pocket.
Goals come and go
and are fun, but each post
reveals its way to every
other, an endless string
of passers, passing by,
all marks of time –
in different, creative
pathways.
What about going nowhere
and seeking nothing?
Does it seem,
really,
all that dull
a world?
I think not.

I have to admit, this has kind of thrown me off my “game” LOL (I talk a lot about “seeking”, ya know?). How do we talk about not needing to seek when we have not yet arrived at the understanding that we don’t need to seek? Once we get there, it will be a moot point, and senseless to even bring up. But until we’re there… …I know you get the paradox of being and becoming, and understand the consciousness that can live in both places at once, but so few have that consciousness, it seems. So we are left with either talking about the seeking (that isn’t necessary), or about the reality of the Self, which people can’t grasp until they’ve looked (sought) within. thanks for listening β€
Hi Susan,
Iβm glad that you are having your experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. This is a poem that came from a place… a poem and seeking – and not seeking. This poem is not seeking; it is what it is. What if something is a moot point? Can it still be discussed? Sure. The senselessness of something to me does not make us just stop, as all is not dictated by reason. But seeking can be done without the experience of needing to add or achieve or become. Maybe, in fact, not seeking anymore. There is a paradox of becoming and being… itβs a fabulous and joyous paradox when we allow it to be – that joy can be a regular goal, but when we allow and not seek – we might find, itβs already here/there. If thatβs what equates to looking within – what/who is seeking?
I love this poem Ka , as I embrace being more comfortable with ‘what is’ each day, whatever that maybe. All this doing, seeking, knowing . It certainly has its place in life, but so does being, accepting and allowing.. Great reminder! Have a beautiful weekend πβοΈ
Thank you very much, Karen
Balancing is an on-going process, and sometimes we stop in our tracks and just accept things as they are. π I appreciate your adding your thoughts and energy. Have a beautiful weekend also πΈ

This a poem to get lost in whilst seeking something that’s not there other than what I might want to find π
Wonderful opening lines, very powerful and impacting.
I wonder sometimes if we are ever ‘being’ at all but rather always ‘becoming’ whilst always ‘fading away’?
It is certainly not a dull world and it’s made ever more enjoyable by exploration and discovery.
Hoping all is well and you enjoying a pleasant weekend.
