Poetry Book 2

Ka Malana Art 2024
Ka Malana Photography 2024

I’ve been working on my second poetry book and so far this is what I’ve discovered:

  • The poems that I’ve written are direct resources to resolving challenges of perspective.
  • The energy in the poems are informing me (and others) about unique gifts.
  • It’s gonna take me a bit longer to publish this book because there’s a lot more work to sort through, process, and; because, my work matters more to myself than it previously did. [i thought that I was only going to write one poetry book ever and then never again]. I didn’t think I had more to give. Alas! 7 years ago was a beginning.
  • I feel like the ‘me’ that I am is showing up more in the heart reflections and observations I share.
  • Since it’s on the list of many more projects and also a lower priority (priority is continued studies and services for others), it’s gonna take a bit longer to complete. But I will do little by little-just like I did with my finger painting above. 👆

That real rainbow (from after our heavy rains on and off) was even more vibrant against a backdrop of heavy gray. Sometimes light just conveys better more unconventionally, organically—without all the extra bells and whistles of editing.

I believe our art ought to create and open worlds, help us ask and answer questions, reveal new avenues for exploration, help heal what’s unresolved transpersonally.

May you enjoy your day however you like!

Thanks for reading, viewing, and being part of things here. We are all moving together. Enjoy your own style and dance steps! Christopher Walken inspires me here to a “move my body Monday.”

** I saw Christopher Walken in a superbowl commercial last night. We happened to have the superbowl available to watch for free, and I used to watch the Steelers all the time when I lived in Pittsburgh. It was so cool to be part of the collective consciousness of that town, btw. Anyways, that choice was great. It was the BEST Super Bowl game I saw in a very long time (and I hadn’t watched any for a long time so that’s not saying much—but my sisters’ family watches football 24/7 and they agreed). It was so FUN, edge of seat fun. 🤩 The team we were rooting for lost, but it was a stellar game: to be talked about for years to come. Lots of unique moments: fumbles, kicks blocked, amazing yardage for kicks, and on and on like the Overtime, “Second game.” It was history-making (just like our weather!).

Bet you didn’t think Art and Football (and poetry) mixes well together! lol 😝 Have a fun day. I seriously needed the light-heartedness. I hope you can enjoy it to, with me. Thanks for being here!

    1. Sorry for my very long delay in replying. I am so grateful for your comment and encouragement! I love your poems. I’ve been a bit preoccupied by life but hope to get back to my book publishing project and more artwork and photography! I appreciate you! Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Kudos on working through another poetry manuscript. I’ve been going back and forth with one myself. Maybe someday I’ll put it out there. I watched and enjoyed most of the Super Bowl as well and I’m not a football person.

    1. Thank you so much, Alethea. It’s a labor of love and I’ve already been enormously distracted with other commitments I’ve already made, too. So I’m aiming to work on it after the über busy months of April and May. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Super Bowl too! Even my 4 year old did! She was so into it, and that made it even better! I really hope you ended up starting on your next manuscript or have a date set for when you want to. Thank you so much for your comment 💗 I’m sorry for my delay in responding. It’s been a flash and time has gone by and I haven’t made progress on Book2! Such is life. I’m breathing into it! Hugs! 🤗

  2. Your rainbow is going well kind lady, your heart is in it truly so follow its light Ka. It was a great game, and did indeed have everything. Even a streaker in there somewhere 🤣 Didn’t see the commercial as I was doing a little healing during the game, each time a break came I refocused what I was doing 😂
Great post kind lady, go for it 😀❤️🙏

  3. A beautiful watercolor and rainbow, Ka. And it was wonderful to hear about another book in the works. How lovely that you aren’t rushing it and letting it happen at its own pace. I think that’s the best way to write poetry – when it feels organic and inspired. Happy Writing

    1. Thank you, Diana. Actually what I am doing is pulling together the manuscript from the poems I’ve written from 2017-2024 (now) to reflect on, potentially rework or use as a springboard for new poems and then publish. So far the process is giving me a nice reflection, and I’m finding myself pleased with much of my poetry written in 2017 (as that’s as far as I’ve gotten). So even this process of working like this, it helps me write new, fresh poems that function more organically and are inspired! 💗 Thank you! ☺️

  4. Hi dear Ka
We really like your watercolour picture.
Well, we don’t think that art should answer questions. Me, Klausbernd, as an editor don’t accept books that answer questions. They usually become too morally. I think, books should make the readers ask questions.
    Happy Valentine’s day.
Good luck with your poetry book

    1. Hello to The Fab Four of Cley,
Lovely to meet you and Happy Valentine’s Day to you too. I absolutely agree with you on not wanting morally and “answers” to morality responses. For me, in the context of what I meant answers: is purely in the personal sense, as in poetry. We have the answers to our own hearts’ inquires (sometimes it comes as an image or silence), and inspiring others to find their own way(s) can be a reflection through seeing how one another answers and responds internally. That’s why we share and have experiences to reflect on together *and* in our own unique ways. Thank you very much for your comment! Yes, hooray for questions! 😃 Opening doors is preferred to closing them! 💘

  5. I hear you!! Yes…and I am in the place where however long it takes…that is fine…that is perfect! Excited to hear you are working on a new book, Ka!! I have my daily devotional written…into the editing process…and the cover and interior design. I never realized just how long it all takes.
Here’s to loving it all! ❤

      1. You are welcome dear Ka my goddess supreme of poetic splendour. Keep at it. Do what you love best.
Thank you for reading and commenting. So grateful 🤗❤️
