Going beyond death: The May 1st Full Moon in Scorpio

Making Peace with things not going the way we wanted…

When life doesn’t bear fruit, when the seeds we planted died, when the shocks aren’t absorbed well and destruction happens and it takes more time to clean up our messes and spills. Take a look.

I pulled this card specifically for this blog post (for all of us.). This is the gift of the shadow, the previously unknown, and the unveiling of what’s been unsteady, misaligned, or simply not ready yet. This is the foundation that seeks ever more stability (Taurus), structure, support, embodied wisdom-always to balance with its opposite axis. The sign of Scorpio will show us where our weaknesses and vulnerabilities are. Alas, Scorpio is also known as the most resilient sign in the Zodiac. Compared to the Phoenix that rises up from the ashes, the Scorpio archetype is never blotted out, never dies, effectively goes beyond death (even unintentionally!).

In the midst of our grieving, we must dance atop our own destruction! The ego can be so very tricky. I don’t subscribe to there being anything ‘wrong’ with the ego, but it’s the part of us that breaks open and cracks like the outer hard hull, shell, or encasing.

When we break out, this is where we figure out what we are really made of. Who we are really, but the infinite as incarnate, carrying around skin and bones, and many temporary minds, for a relatively brief time?

I invite you to take this Full Moon, squaring Pluto in Aquarius, and liberate any discordant energy. Can it be with us? Can we allow it to be present? If not now, then when?

Uranus moves into Gemini ♊️

I’ve been really looking forward to this transit. We had a taste of it back on June 7, 2025, to November 7, 2025.

Uranus is the Great Awakener. Known as the Prometheus archetype, taking fire from the Gods and giving it to the regular people.

It is said that Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. I do find this to be true from my experience. The Uranian influence is one of my favorite and that might be because I’ve got Aquarius rising and Uranus is the modern ruler for Aquarius. But there are other reasons for me.

I’ve been enjoying the possibility of innovation, but I have been mostly noticing increased communication with my neighbors! Gemini is the sign connected to the 3rd house with neighbors and siblings. It relates to the voice and expression, as well as to the thoughts and nervous system.

Many are predicting even more technological innovations. I’m sure we are beyond saturation point with that and AI. Considering the trend, it’s an easy prediction. As far as humans are concerned, we are being required to adapt at much faster pace than ever before—constant changes and upgrades!

I’d like to offer, though, that fundamentally we are more than our environments. We can use this innovative energy to go within and reconnect and revision our inner pathways. We can embrace networks of support within and develop our relationships through this very foundation of the inner knowledge and knowing.

Recently I wrote a bit about meditation, self inquiry, and contemplation. I did have it mentioned in a few spiritual or religious contexts but I believe you have so many options with meditation and the inner dialogue. You can adapt ‘that’ to what is ‘your’ belief system you are strengthening or loosening.. finding your inner trust that is unshakable is the goal. Whether it’s with yourself and the creator or however you connect to the ALL, knowing and reverence is yours to experience.

It’s a good time to reframe how you talk to yourself, too. How loving can you be? How much compassion can you bring into that space of inquiry and to sit with the peaceful knowing that you are always more than your thoughts, more than phenomena?

Agency, identity and healing

This New Moon with 7 “planets” in the sign of Aries is stacked up in the fire sign with harmonious aspects to both Uranus at the cusp of Taurus/Gemini and Pluto in early Aquarius.

The main theme of the New Moon ties to the Chiron conjunction within a one degree orb.

The area where we are wounded is also the area where we heal. The focus on this New Moon is around new beginnings, but Chiron has a history and legacy of abandonment. Chiron can heal others.

Let’s examine the areas in our own lives where we can set the intention for the deepest layer of healing around the abandonment of Self. How can recover those pieces that fragmented through trauma and division?

You might want to spend some time reflecting on new ways of relating to your own process of discovery and initiation. What triggers the spark of innovation in your own consciousness? What catalyzes the process of returning and being in reunion with thyself?

I’ve been meditating on many Buddhist practices with patient acceptance, tranquil abiding, and karma along with Advaita experiences of non-duality and investigations into witnessing awareness.

Our actions (Mars and its ruler Aries) are fundamental to how we express and experience the “call and response” of life and form. What is it that witnesses even before form or attention arises? When we make deliberate attempts and set our intentions on peaceful states of mind, can we witness our own becoming in the deep emptiness of an open and spacious sky?

Self inquiry, meditation and contemplation might not be for everyone, but healing deeply and reuniting aspects of the realization of oneness seems a worthy way to use this spark of life. Chiron can show us how our original pain points can be just the alchemy we need to put many profound spiritual practices into action, and transform the lives of ourselves and others through pursuing liberation and Bodhichitta.

May all beings be happy and free from misery and suffering.
