from the moment I saw

the love was available

I took a step forward

and put my whole self in

this wasn’t twister or the Hokey Pokey

This was trust,

divine timing—

and faith

I chose to be transformed by fire

I chose to be a witness to your growth

and by that choice, I too, have developed.

Whenever the opportunity developes

I’ll make the same choice again and again.

My life is lived by fire

I choose fire to transform

That’s why it’s always different

Each same choice looks like a different choice

But it never is

And it always is

Something new.

I walk with fire 🔥 I blaze in its path.

I, too, am Fire.

  1. I’ve been thinking of fire and ice a lot lately. In the personal, inner, emotive sense. Being aware, from childhood, of something hard and cold within – shaped by the piercing wind and the loneliness of the cry from the hills. How that became part of me, and always calls.

    But then, as Yassy indicated in one of her recent pieces (Crystal Fire), whether or not she saw the implication, there is fire hidden in the heart of the coldest shard of ice.

    1. Thank you, dear Mark. We make so many choices in more ways than I can even count moments! I’m laughing at the idea of measuring choices and moments are units. How else would I know the exact quantity?! Dear Mark, life always keeps me on my toes. I am dancing with fire on the regular–and well, all the elements. I’m glad I’m not dancing alone! Bless you!

  9. I know about trust, divine timing and being presented with the same choice in new ways. I don’t know much about astrology -just the basics, like I know I was born Sagittarius which is a fire sign. On the surface at least, I’ve been drawn more to earth, water, and air. Fire has always been a little frightening, but it is also fascinating and exciting in small amounts. Your poem encourages me to explore the fascination and excitement of fire more deeply, a little at a time, and again as this is likely a choice I’ve had before. Thank you!

    1. I like how you wrote about your relationship to fire when you said, “on the surface at least, I’ve been drawn more to earth, water, and air…” (despite your Sagittarius sun sign). I think that shows your innate knowing of ‘balancing’ the elements within you and around your environment. For astrology, it’s not about being fully in your Sun sign and loving or elevating your Sun sign’s element above the others. It’s still about balance and connection. We all have birth charts with so many details and elements, actually charts upon charts can be made to inquire in relationship to your birth time and place with so many derivations from that. Truth: astrology can be incredibly complex. It’s not an over-night phenomenon and it goes deep.

      **All this to say, just know that you are definitely on track intuitively. That’s what really matters!**
