Emotional uncertainty vs. Long term clarity: The real work

This full moon in Capricorn gets rocked by the Mercury station-retrograde in Cancer. It can be choppy waters moving through the center of that commanding mountainous canyon. But very few lunations exist in isolation without contact and interaction with other planetary movements, such as no man nor woman is an island.

There’s usually a bigger story to be told that umbrellas the smaller, more personal stories. For example, there’s the rumblings from the changes of the upcoming nodal movements next month in July. We are saying “goodbye” to much victim consciousness and perfectionism and judgment with regard to the Pisces/Virgo nodal dynamics. The next set of nodal link-ups corresponding to our “destiny” trajectory is thematic of Aquarius/Leo: the collective vs. the individual. (Let me remind you here that duality is a glimmer of a more wholesome truth: that opposites are quite alike, and only apparently different).

That said, we are in the midst of a turn within the wheel of our season, in Summer, for the Northern Hemisphere, the Solstice energy has recently peaked. The fire element is revving up in the sign of Leo as Jupiter has just spent a while in Cancer and is about to join Venus in Leo—the two recently conjoined in Cancer and set off a new story around values and family, relationships and meaning: giving new possibilities to the old watery themes.

What’s next requires its own paragraph. Mars just entered Gemini to be with Uranus (newly in Gemini). That’s pretty big news for this Full Moon in Capricorn, as it’s happening at approximately the “same time” as Mercury station retrograde in Cancer. The air signs help us to “free” up some of this really intense water (water trine last year) that we’ve been experiencing, and finally dapple in some levity. There’s exceptional room for curiosity now, discoveries and mental flexibility. I believe the invitation with Mercury stationing retrograde in Cancer, which thematically is tied to the past and the emotions including sensitivity around comfort and caretaking–again–the invitation here is to use the mind to break free from former constrictive karmic cycles. Seeing the old hamperings in a new light, revising the personal narratives to set off better movements, and that is to say setting off onto the world’s work (Capricorn). (Because we have a lot to do.). Roll up your sleeves.

This full moon in Capricorn brings quite an ending, though, for sure. Ending is not as good of a word as the word: culmination. But I did want to punctuate the expression of a deep severance from the diseased parts of the old order. It’s time for new work. Thankfully this comes for those who have been doing the dutiful work and even the Great Work– Alice Bailey style “lifelong process of transformation–not simply self improvement but union of personality and soul, purification and initiation, service to humanity, co-creation with divine purpose.”

I pulled the 21. World Tree Card for our full moon in Capricorn reading, for all of my readers, near and far. This card ended up as perfect to help illustrate the energy of this full moon.

For more text on this card, it’s already online here. It’s from The Wildwood Tarot:

“As a symbol of the bridge of consciousness between the great universe in outer space and the small universe inside every human mind. The World Tree marks the end of The Wanderer’s trip and the starting point for another journey. The Wanderer began his journey around The Wheel with an innocent, passionate curiosity. It is the journey that has brought wise experiences, along with the gift of knowledge. Now, The Wander is taking the final steps along the path of the maze of life, entering the heart of The World Tree to become an integral whole with the cosmic memory.” …

“The universe blesses anyone who seeks knowledge and wisdom with a sincere heart. The universe has an absolutely generous heart, giving its richness and beauty unconditionally. No matter how long life can be and no matter how difficult, challenging, and harsh it is, if we persevere, integrity and success will come to us. The blessing is bestowed materially or spiritually. After a long process of learning and being suppressed by responsibility, now is the time to immerse yourself in the light of revival and enjoy your own glory. Take a breath of fresh air, drink fresh water, and warmly rejoice in the infinite energy of the universe.”

The above paragraph highlights that genuine caring and sincere heart, the unconditional love, reflected by the innocence of the child in the sign of Cancer, one who meets the harshness of the world in Capricorn, faces struggle and up-hill battles, only to be become freed through perseverance and sincerity… can finally… breathe (Mars and Uranus in Gemini).

“Take a breath of fresh air, drink fresh water, and warmly rejoice in the infinite energy of the universe.”

You have been purified, and you are purifying. Letting this former chapter go, is a good thing.

The culmination is here.

Gemini New Moon: More than a touch of chaos

Cafe Astrology

Who’s having fun? Anyone, anyone? This New Moon in Gemini might feel zippy and frenetic. It might feel like something to “manage,” but the truth is, today (while I’m writing this) we have the Nodes in exact square with the planet Uranus. There’s unexpected perks coming at you from all directions! Considering that the planet Uranus is in Gemini, the sign of the New Moon, it’s an extra-extra Uranian vibe to it. That’s okay. Weird things can work out on their own. You might have a problem one moment, and then the next moment it goes “poof.” You might have sudden insights around problems you’ve been trying to solve for a long time. Your tech: it might be acting up. Maybe your nervous system is a little bit wonky and you’re not sure what’s going on. Well, that’s kinda also been an on-going theme, right? But today and this weekend with the New Moon, the volume on the WONK is turned up, maybe past 11. In the midst of it all, we are doing the weird dance of “polishing up” things we want to have look extra good–or focused on visual projects with the artistic flare, AND, we are in a place of opportunity to have some extra fun. The reason I’m using the word extra, extra: it’s probably the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Cancer that came and went and currently in a separating aspect. Mercury is on its way up in Cancer headed up to join with Jupiter. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini.

Fly with the butterflies my friends.

My post today is very brief because I will be away soon, and I’m busy working on the plans for that. I’m dealing with a lot of technology as well. Is there something special about this particular lunation? I think it’s the unique ability to run up against a maximum capacity, and then well, to find a way to go beyond it. It’s like the stars are reaching out for us. They want us to reach back to them. I like the connection of the hands. The hands are ruled by Gemini. This morning I saw a post where two spiral galaxies in Virgo (the other Mercury ruled sign) are in a dance. Here’s the image and the direct quote. But before we proceed to that: Set an intention. This New Moon in Gemini, I plan to go beyond what the mind can conceive and believe. I encourage you to imagine what thinking beyond your current mind might look like…

NASA, ESA, the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA)-ESA/Hubble Collaboration and A. Evans (University of Virginia, Charlottesville/NRAO/Stony Brook University)

“Arp 240 is an astonishing galaxy pair, composed of spiral galaxies of similar mass and size, NGC 5257 and NGC 5258. The galaxies are visibly interacting with each other via a bridge of dim stars connecting the two galaxies, almost like two dancers holding hands while performing a pirouette. Both galaxies harbour supermassive black holes in their centres and are actively forming new stars in their discs. Arp 240 is located in the constellation Virgo, approximately 300 million light-years away, and is the 240th galaxy in Arp’s Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies.”

With the exception of a few foreground stars from our own Milky Way all the objects in this image are galaxies.

This image is part of a large collection of 59 images of merging galaxies taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and released on the occasion of its 18th anniversary on 24th April 2008.

Celebrating the beauty of duality and multiplicity. Gemini twins show us that there’s a mirror, and on the other side, is another us. Multiple mirrors make new surface repetitions. The repetitions are like an echo into the infinite potential of what we all are.

For your viewing pleasure, I am attaching a neat site I just found with hand-print inspired drawing ideas.

And! Just for fun…. How much can you HANDle the chaos with Gemini-style levity and banter? Happy New Moon in Gemini loves! Make it fun.
