Upon my heart
a wild flower
grows
like an orchid
clinging to the
tree of me.
And her orchid’s
shaped face
is a mimic of a
white dove
diving into a holy
fountain to
drink for a while
or swim,
or to reminisce about
messages sent to
Noah.
It’s okay to come out
now. The storm is
over.

this took my breath away. ❤
Thank you for sharing, Sus!
me too! ❤ xx
Yes, my breath was taken, too. Your closing stanza especially… For me, your writing is often its most striking and its most powerful when you write like that. Direct, riddled with energy and meaning, these words were like an espresso shot right to the whole field of being… But the whole piece was lovely. Heading out for a swim…!
Peace and Love
Michael
Hi Michael,
I had been drinking
Chocolate Macadamia nut coffee…
Thank you so much for sharing your impressions from my poem. How it spoke to you…
Being spoken to directly brings so much clarity; and while even if the storm never really ends
completely, there’s always some refuge in this “whole field of being” as you say. There’s powerful safety in the heart of us, in the voiceless voice of the center.
Aloha, Ka
The storm is over? Great!
Beautiful, beautiful poem, Ka.
The picture is stunning. Did you take it? I’ve never seen anything like it.
Thank you, Mary..
I don’t really know if the storm is fully over, but this poem I wrote told me to come on out, and to feel the light of the Leo sun. I can have courage, and so can we all, because there’s something here in us, to anchor us. There’s refuge.
I didn’t take this picture. I first saw it in one of those email forwards about amazing orchids. Then when I wrote this poem, this image came to my mind as the one to go with the poem. I couldn’t find the original photographer. These are amazing orchids, right?! Orchids are fascinating…
