Love is not a buzz word, nor is it the end: Taurus full moon

I genuinely couldn’t think of a better message for this full moon in Taurus than to begin with a biblical quote from Corinthians:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

I come across this quote a lot, or hear it at weddings–but not as much the part that comes after “Love never fails.” “Love never fails,” to me is the whole of the message in that love is eternal. So I get why this part of Corinthians doesn’t persist. That’s literally the message of non-persistence… (that, and many folks in the recent century shied away from the subject of “tongues,” no doubt).

“…But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

The passage above seems to speak to the products and sayings of humanity at large—not so much to the wastefulness of prophecy as to our extrapolations, hypotheses, posits, and surmises. It moves from the sublime to the ridiculous, taking in the burps and farts, sighs and laughs that make up our responses to the strange, ordinary fact of living on Earth, in a body, and among other bodies.

Why astrology?

Is astrology a prophecy? I would say no. I have not approached it in that way, but I have sought guidance through reflection with it. I’ve also used important transits to understand the stages and chapters of my life, with a satisfying depth that is like a well that has no bottom. To me, it’s a gorgeous mystery written in stars with themes and hints, all with delicate observation to stand in silence, to be in awe, to know that this SPLENDOR is not for us to “understand.” It is nature’s way of saying “Just humor me.” So that’s part of it.

ALSO,

For me, astrology is not a contradiction to faith. Only anything that is a contradiction to faith is a contradiction to faith. That is to say, it’s all about where you are coming from. It’s where you are coming from when you speak, when you write, when you listen, when you READ, when you do anything, really. Where you are coming from has everything to do with what and how you receive–it is the full signature of an action, an utterance, a touch. It’s the effect inseparable from the cause.

This brings me back to the astrology of these times, as it’s not anything I would ever hold my breath for; but nonetheless, I do enjoy writing about.

Receiving is an earthy action. We have no needs in ‘heaven,’ nor outside of a body.

Above, by reflecting now on the Corinthians quote, we partly covered how love is eternal. Also, we do know that comfort is not. That’s the only certainty. Any comfort that is experienced through the body or the world is non-constant.

The way I see it, uncertainty is the natural law; but certainty within uncertainty, while temporally true, is still true from a partial perspective. We live in a universe where electrons are a spread out into a wave of possibilities. If we choose to say: nothing is eternally true, therefore: nothing to say. (If we want to speak truth).

Yes, this is ALL my preamble to my message from the stars. I don’t often give a background or context like this, so every now and again, I like to revisit it.

Here is the scene, or the “landscape” for this Full Moon in Taurus:

Venus is the ruler for Taurus. It is a planet that connects us to resources, relationships, comforts, wants, and tangibility. It is a symbol for form. Venus began its retrograde on October 3rd at 8 degrees 30 min Scorpio. Traveling mostly by now through the sign of Scorpio, it embraced the themes of intimacy, attachment, possession, jealousy, trust and shared resources (you can grab similar keywords from any astro textbook, on which astrology is based, I might add).

Then, on October 23, 2026 Venus conjoined the Sun at zero degrees 45 min. Astrologers round up and sometimes agree with numerology. You’ll see differences out there: it’s fine. Symbolically, this Cazimi is considered the “Heart of the Sun.” It wasn’t just any Cazimi. It was the completion of the 5th point of the current Scorpio series of pentagrams started in 1926. It’s an 8 year loop completion. Every eight years, Venus and the Sun meet again at almost the same point in the zodiac: in the sign of Scorpio.

The planet Venus has strong associations with Magick, and I’m not going to go into here and now, but just for the record: John Dee was a devout Christian astrologer who worked for Elizabeth I. He compiled one of the largest and most comprehensive private libraries in 16th-century England harboring thousands of printed books and manuscripts. John Dee was a polymath.

Venus is the way we relate and the way we love. It can be our “from.”

Looking at the Full moon in Taurus with its conjunction to the Sun during this snapshot moment, realizing that Pluto will be in square to the Sun for most of the week. Pluto wants us to drop the false, extricate ourselves from it, even. It can also show us vibrantly what the power-mongers are in our lives (habits, compulsions), and with that square, the struggle will feel more than real–conflict is expected but not a certainty. The antidote is to not give into the fear, intimidation, or the falsity that the shadows represent. Look behind the form. See what’s under it (all very Plutonian).

From a higher view, these transits and this lunation are all fulfilling the need for all of us to incorporate shadow, embrace absorption into change, and submit to the higher powers, with the knowing that there’s reverence and meaning within that you can co-create with. Your connection to the holy divine is at stake if you wander into fear, treading too deeply.

Conversely, this can also be a time of deepening your empowerment, or getting a better grip on it. You seize the reigns of your life with new measure, embrace a new awareness around what has now become of practical necessity– and you “take care of it” with swift precision.

A caution around precision is the Mercury retrograde. Mercury retrograded in Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) as part of the landscape of this Full Moon in Taurus, a sharp truth can be conveyed with love. Or, love can come in shadow. Misunderstandings are the norm, too. With a Mercury retrograde, I’ve enjoyed slowing down. I take more time with things. I don’t do this because I follow astrology. I do this because I’ve observed myself while also observing astrology and I noted the correlation–for most of my life decades–I have observed. Mercury will station direct on November 13, at the same time as Venus stations direct. A coincidence? Nah….

Do I slow down with Venus? I’m not sure yet. I haven’t decided. But, I do examine my relationship, naturally, with all things Venusian. I savor the time.

The Taurus Full Moon is conjoining Chiron in Aries. It’s a similar pattern to the out of sign conjunction with the Sun and Venus. Moon/Chiron is helping us to heal through the open wound, to offer our pains and vulnerability up to the healing for others as well–to combine our strength. We all uniquely suffer in the body. We are joined through our shared experience. We have the same essential limitations of time and space, with our mind’s to transcend that but our bodies to remind us about capacity. The value of healing is that we belong to each other.

Pluto in Aquarius is very non-hierarchical, thank you very much. With a sextile to Neptune, and Neptune sextile to Uranus: we are blending beyond belief. Like we are all in one big cauldron, boiling, together. Hmm… Climate change would concur.

The ultimate point:

Comfort is OK. The world will tell you “get out of your comfort zone” as that’s where the learning is. Well, sure, that’s true, sort of. There’s also a divine right to feeling safe, and at least trying to be safe and to protect others.

Safety is a feeling. It may not be a reality. The time of death (Pluto–Thanks!) is unknown.

This Taurus Full Moon is helping you to seize your comfort, to know your feet on the Earth as sacred–to allow your lungs to breathe in effortlessly the full sustenance of the space around you (the nutrients for your lungs: oxygen, nitrogen, Argon, water vapor.., ), and enjoy the water for as long as it can be freely found, appreciating those involuntary muscles of the diaphragm working non-stop for us. This Full Moon in Taurus also asks us to share our true love for/with each other, to ponder what love means, consider how we share love, and to reflect on how we create form FROM it.

Form is an anagram of From.

The end.
