This poem has me in a loving gasp
for air that
meets me in the center of my soul
and gently says “let go”
and burrows in for a longer show
of moving Spirits inward, connecting
joining in my heart the real of love.

The Poetry Channel

This is a response poem inspired by James C. Floyd’s (The Jefferson Street Poet)My Mother in Alzheimer.

I loved you
before I knew your name
You loved me
after I had called you
every name in the book.
