Rain on the lake
activates ripples
increasingly the drops make
lashings of dimples
seagulls, pigeons and
ducks run amok
a social dynamic
wide-flapping panoramic
breeze in, breeze out,
waves up-down and about
rings along the ledges,
circled rocks, and maybe trout
a startle will break the ground
and send attendees to the sky
making a canopy of dots speckled
with abundant overfly
rain blurs the distinction
of dark to light
this gray day is heavy
but fresh and just right.
Beautiful words and imagery Ka… Grey is something we are used to here in the UK.. But thankfully today we saw some Sunshine.. 🙂
Have a lovely week ❤
Thinking of you, Sue! Thank you! 💖
Much love your way and to your loved ones 💕🙏💕
I so know that ‘fresh and just right’ grey day feeling!
Thinking of you, Kristen, in Washington state 💖 sending love
I like the freshness of your perspective. Sometimes a gray and rainy day is exactly what we need.
Sometimes my perspective is all I have! Thank you, JoAnna 🙂
Beautiful, all these birds.
The black ones I really like (Not sure what they are called in English) – you only find them seldom in these parts.
The black ones might be called American Coots and they are water birds, not ducks. I’m not sure though. They are neat!
