She is stone
Made of sand and grit
She’s weathered the extreme heat of the kiln
Temperatures predicted for the future
Devastate her visions of what is to come
But her hope has more grit
Than 10,000 suns
Because. Why not? She’s stone.
And half-way clean.
“She’s weathered the extreme heat of the kiln
Temperatures predicted for the future
Devastate her visions of what is to come
But her hope has more grit”
She is so powerful and beautiful, love these lines and your creation.

Wishing you also a beautiful day, my friend 🙂
“But her hope has more grit / Than 10,000 suns.” I can see that! Very expressive with good energy.
Thank you so much, JoAnna!
The essence of the poem lies in the analogy between the poetic and the real and you do it brilliantly with your verses. Good for your refined inspiration. A big hug
Your comment made my day! Thank you sincerely for your reading 📖💗 and a big hug back.
You are welcome.
She’s wonderful! Poetry is an artform in itself and then you add this figure and it’s twofold on the artistic talent you have!!
Thank you so much for this note, Christy! I can’t even tell you how much this message meant to me. You have a special knack for your timing! 💗 xo Thank you ☺️
