Blogiving for thanks, pie — Fiesta Estrellas

Today is Thanksgiving in America. Tomorrow is Native American Heritage Day. November is also Native American Heritage Month. There’s no real way to reflect on this time without asking questions about traditions and remembering the past. That’s how National holidays are. They are, for many, time off of work, time with family; and maybe they are just time for reflection.

If you are not busy with family and friends. Maybe I can interest you in reading the following post and helping you get yourself into some Qi Gong. There are so many lovely ways to celebrate by yourself, this is a luxury I sometimes miss!

We are busy today with our friends coming to visit (I invited them– Hah!), and the food is already ready to be picked up at the restaurant this afternoon. This morning, however, after coloring seasonal imagery with my daughter and writing out what we are grateful for, I decided to make my very colorful red beet salad. I make it with a Russian style, really full of garlic. Then I decided before cleaning I would make some pumpkin bread. I was going to make the zucchini bread from scratch, but I really don’t have the energy. Yesterday I spent time with my hairdresser, Lei, and I was in with my women’s circle, virtually. I connect with technology, text, voice, etc… to those family and friends afar today. I receive texts from friends who are infrequently connectors–and it feels great to hear from them as we are all so busy, but this is life–right?! My village is growing and it’s plump. Writing this sentence amuses me.

I’ll be looking forward to catching up with all of your posts. Reading blogs has been one of my favorite activities, along with writing, and art-making. I really think blogging is its own art.

Thank you so much for being in my community. For those of you who took the reblogging challenge as your theme for this Cheer Peppers connection, thank you so very much for joining me!!! Shout out to Barbara over at MeMyMagnificientSelf and Linda over at Litebeing.com also have been blogging as Reblogathoners! We are all teamed up with Cheer Peppers this year, who I have been blogging with each November for Nano Poblano for at least the last 5 years. However, I have known Barbara and Linda for years on the blog.

While I am blogging daily, and visiting as frequently, if not daily–I try to get to everyone’s blogs. The joy I feel with reading the poetry, seeing the art, reading about your day, seeing your travels, and it all really adds to my life. Thank you for putting your voice out there. Keep going; never give up. Keep going. You matter, and your life, matters 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving and Blogsgiving 😉

  1. Thanks Ka for the shout out! IAM enjoying the reblogging, taking all the positives with… including being with you more this month! I do read all the blogs but for some reason commenting is not made so simple. Not sure why this is except to confirm WordPress is all part of surpressing the people! Yes it’s a terrible thing to say but why, if technology gets better, it actually makes our life… connectability worse❤️ I know you have similar challenges but it won’t deter us! IAM here and love this pepper marathon! Enjoy your thanksgiving❤️ much love and blogging inspiration 💃🎶🌈

    1. Hi Barbara, as I said before I’m not sure why a number of my comments have not “stuck” when I posted them on quite a few of your posts. Most of it is that I need to post from a computer not the app on my phone. When I am at my computer and not working its rare. Yes, it’s not always simple. To me, this isn’t suppression, just technology being wonky. I wish you freedom, peace and inspiration, too! Blessings to you on this day and all… no doubt we will be blogging for a long time to come! 😃💗

      1. Oh yes to wonky technology, yet knowing the priority is not on products syncing harmoniously together… as they have to keep a few glitches in to make sure you upgrade and buy new products! The synchronization with WordPress and Apple over the years has got worse not better. This is a fact. As long as we stay tuned in we can feel the presence of one another and be ok it receiving comments when they come❤️ Yes here’s to blogging🥰

  2. First of all Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I’m sure they’re going to have a great time because the moment lends itself to that: Sharing. Around here, Chile-South America, this celebration is barely mentioned. A big hug Ka.

    1. Thank you, Lorrie!! Same to you! I’m almost done with my monthly blogging challenge. I had considered blogging daily in the New Year because I have a lot of content, and finally some more time!!! We had a really nice, loving and relaxed Thanksgiving. Wishing you all good things ahead, too! I hope your weeks ahead are wonderful… all the holiday celebrations 🙂 xo

      1. Happy to hear that your Thanksgiving was super, Ka 😊 and what a commitment…I remember when I first started blogging I would sometimes post multiple times a day!! Now it seems other obligations make it hard to post as much as I would like. But I am always so happy when I am here. And I just love the people I have connected with through the years. I’m pretty certain we connected very early on when I started!!
Yes…I am getting ready for a nice vacation break. I always say I’m not going to “work” but honestly, there’s something about being on vacation that stirs my creative juices and I always seem to HAVE to do something!!
Sending all good energy…lots of love and light!

      2. Lorrie, I feel like you are “speaking for me.” Relaxing, even a little bit, leads to tremendous creative power for me. Today I had to post a very important post. It is about my forays with Cubism, my friendship, and my time in S.Africa at the township. My creativity is spawned when I have even the littlest bit of time to reflect on my life. Then to wrap it all up: the main blog post was a poem called “Honey is Home.” So I 100% hear you on creative juices. Love you very much! I love your creativity, too!! xoxo

      3. Ah! Touch my heart and soul!!! And right back at you, Ka 😊 And forget about it if I am on vacation and near water!!!!! Something about relaxing at pool/beach/any body of water…even the SHOWER!! Can’t tell you how many times I have run out of the shower soaking wet and searched for paper and pen!!!

Please drop me a petal from your beautiful self and let me know that you visited :)
