REpackaged for RETRO CHALLENGE: Gemini New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse

*****This is an OLD POST*****

The Twins, Duality and Consciousness

New Moon Partial Eclipse in Gemini @ 11-12 degrees

Credit from http://ascendinghearts.net/2010/12/twin-flames-1/ Please see, great write up!

June 2nd (depending on where you are) will be the new moon partial eclipse event that activates and refreshes the Gemini part of our charts. Gemini rules communications, thought processes, and short-trips. Gemini rules our siblings and the duality of the mind, ever-fluctuating between the positive and negative poles. Gemini is the sign that rules the activities of the mind, categorizes things, and distinguishes them into patterns. Gemini represents how we filter information from our environment, and could be described as a mental “net.” It’s our subjective lens for viewing our neighborhood and our neighbors, and shows even how we obtain our information about the world. Gemini is the also the mouthpiece of the astrological chart, showing us how we speak our truth using either chosen symbols or that of our native tongue.

More About Gemini

Gemini is the sign of the twins; it represents the duality of the mind. It is also the 3rd astrological sign in the zodiac, and the 1st air sign. The 3rd aspect takes the form of a stage for the two dancing dualities to perform—this can be in the form of words, thoughts, writing, and picture symbols. In its most primitive sense, Gemini is the first expression of relationship itself: the marriage of any two things and their interaction. Gemini energy can be likened to a web where the material itself is gossamer, delicate, but has strength in its complexity, and its design. Nevertheless, Gemini introduces levity to the collective consciousness. During Gemini ruled times, we may brush lightly about subjects, moving from one to another without the need to go to go very deeply in between or below the surface. It’s a good time for being analytical and detached, survey our resources, and collect information we need for our projects. This is a process that keeps the wind moving and the air flowing (the ideas light).

Sagittarius—Gemini’s polar opposite sign on the zodiac—represents wisdom beyond category; it’s the heart of philosophy, the seeker-less seeker of truth. Sometimes Sagittarius is expressed as religion, but it mostly shows us the sagacious “bigger picture.” How ineffable and beyond any mental construct is the nature of reality itself. Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, giver of expansiveness and fortune. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, the messenger, the word, and the mind. The opposing sides of the zodiac are actually complementary and act as two-sides of the same coin. Both Gemini and Sagittarius deal with knowledge, but an even better word than ‘knowledge’ is to say that these signs both deal with ‘vision.’ Think of the song Amazing Grace: “I once was lost but now I am found, was blind but now I see.”

It’s a Time for Inner Mental Stability

When we see a new moon in Gemini, we are opening up another window into the psyche of how we identify and use information, especially in a local way or immediate way. This is a time where we may start talking more to those around us, or even less. It’s a time for stabilizing communications (Sun conjunct Moon forms a trine aspect to Saturn in Libra).  For some, we will open up to learning a new language, or even start a new learning process. Perhaps we will chatter on more about what we see and do with those nearby; there could be changes in our relationships to siblings.

The new moon’s trine aspect to Saturn can go mainly in two different ways: One is that this aspect can act as a stabilizer for whatever mental activity or communication takes place, giving whatever is to come has a long-lasting and dedicated affect. The other slightly different way is that Saturn can filter the Gemini creation into a specific and dedicated structure or format. In this new moon chart, Saturn is forming a harmonious aspect to the new moon, making for the most positive expression of this new moon. The tendency is that this aspect will be smooth and easy, and operate with natural guidance or stability. Since Saturn is still retrograde till the middle of June, our commitments are focused inwardly.

Partial Solar Eclipse

Usually in astrology eclipses are considered more powerful than a regular New Moon event, and have a longer-lasting and deeper affect. In the old days, eclipses were considered to be omens and portents about the future, especially for leaders. Now-a-days, many astrologers have a view that the external movements of the heavens, or the planets as they appear to look here on Earth, not only represent natural cycles, but that planetary events viewed on Earth represent changes within our own psyches, mirroring our individual and collective consciousness.

Since the new moon is a monthly, regular gift of opening up to something “new” and planting seeds for a new venture, you can do this at this New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini, and it’s an especially powerful time to plant your intentions for the future—it’s a good time for technology purchases, car purchases, committing to write a book, or starting your education in a new subject. It’s also a good time to revisit relationships with your siblings if you’ve been waiting for one. A Solar Eclipse, however, does add a certain unexpected quality, or miscellaneous ingredient into your mix: so as you set your intentions, be aware that there is a heavenly variable at work in your personal destiny. Now is the time that it’s just more obvious that heaven speaks on your behalf.

Many Blessings,

Ka Malana

Scorpio Full Moon

Full Moon in Scorpio, May 17, 2011 (As occurring on Kauai, Hawaii @ 1:09am, may be the 18th elsewhere)

Look back. Don’t go back.

The moon shines at night, it is reflecting the conscious light of the sun; and Moon, she takes her shape from the positions of the Earth and Sun as they inform her own position. The moon, then, represents the unconscious, fertile, and form-making aspect of our lives. It is at Scorpio, then, that we begin to prune and tend to our gardens created by what we planted at the Taurus new moon. We start to see our intentions taking shape. Scorpio, the opposite sign of Taurus, is about shared resources, the earth’s resources, debts, obligations, and other people’s money. Financial questions are on the forefront at this time and so with them is our relationship to other people, material value, and to the earth herself as a resource.

Dig for Gold

Scorpio is the sign of the scorpion. She can sting with her tail. Her sting penetrates—which is the key function of the sign of Scorpio: penetration. Scorpio saturates and is saturated by everything that she is in relationship with. What she brings to the table is the up-surging of subterranean drives, and the emotional richness of connection and intimacy. She, also, expresses herself through transactions, of sexuality or money—even energy—from the deepest upwelling of underlying passion. She is out of control, or, always in control. She’s past the Libran balance of here *and* there simultaneously. Scorpio is all-in. That is why Scorpio charges the air with magnetic power. Swift and smart, deep and hidden, yet guileless when she goes for the jugular, that is Scorpio. If she is in her most pristine form, she will cleanse you of everything-transform your destructive nature into absolute creative power, for she provides the emotional richness of connection, deep, reverent union. Instinctual and animalistic is her power, once released, it is explosive. Form (Taurus) is Re-formed (Scorpio).

Squaring Neptune

With this full moon, we have a T-square aspect (two, 90 degree angles) with the planet Neptune. That is, the Sun is opposite the Moon, and both bodies are squaring Neptune in Pisces. Here we must use our energy and soul essence (Sun) for spiritual purposes (Neptune), surrendering all our conscious drive for wholeness *and* our unconscious, emotional body for transcendence.  Both male and female must re-configure. We must give away or purge (Scorpio) our illusions (Neptune) about spirituality. Surrender (Neptune) our constructions and any ‘it must be this way’ thought-forms (Saturn) to intimately deepen with the power (Scorpio) of the unformed—that which springs up from unlimited origins (Neptune).

Do not let issues from the past bubble up and tell you how the future will be. The past is only one channel that leads into the future, giving ourselves the power of interpretation and using psychological mastery (Scorpio), we can re-frame the past into one which allows for the future of your choice.  Know that the source that makes the future is far more limitless and undetermined than our minds would like us to think with our thoughts about what the past was.

With the Moon and Sun squaring Neptune there is a tendency to get confused. Be forewarned but do not forlorn because you are aware of this transit, you have come to the crossroads of another decision to cut through (Scorpio) the illusion, confusion, deception, and penetrate the fog of confusion (Neptune).

 The Bottom Line

Renew your commitment to cutting out the dross within your own psyche, forge a new path with your will-to-faith that confusion and limitation is temporary *and* transformative. You have forged a new path for yourself when you surrender to the process of your own spirit, emerging out of old form into new form.

Aloha, Mahalo, New Moon in Taurus

New Moon in Taurus:

Currently, I am on a spiritual journey on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. I’ve visited Buddhist and Hindu temples, and paid tribute to the ancestors at ancient Hawaiian heiaus (temples), experiencing my own re-birth, in many ways. At moments, the movements of my spirit were even invisible to me. This is a time of great portent, and deep release. Please see this website for New Moon information. I will be in ceremony on Anini Beach on May 2th.

Blessed be.  Always Aloha

Mercury Rx opposite Saturn, square Pluto

Resistance is not likely to be helpful at this time

I am moved to write, strange how that is since Mercury is opposite Saturn at this time. This has been a strenuous aspect for many people. I can see it all around me. Saturn is in Libra (same sign as the recent full moon) and it is opposed by Mercury Retrograde (about to Station Direct Motion) conjunct Mars in Aries (drive, impatience). Therefore, we have a tremendous amount of restriction and resistance going on with communication, with technology and logistics, and within our relationships–this can even manifest very strongly in our minds and thoughts (Mercury).

Today’s a good day though, the moon is in Sagittarius, a fire sign that’s in harmonious aspect to the almost conjunct (side-by-side) placement of Uranus and Venus, meaning that we are collectively emotionally ready for some changes, at least during this moon, and if we can tap into it (depending on your natal moon placement) we can see changes and developments optimistically (Sagittarius). We can choose the adventure. Remember those “Choose your own adventure” books? Well, you don’t control the adventure, but you open yourself up to it, and then you make the decisions you can make to best of your capability. If your restless and nothing is going on, don’t forget to open up the book. Choose to start.

I’m very fortunate to be headed to Kauai this weekend for a meditative adventure. That’s right, I am going for both the silence, and the adventure. I am also trying to figure out how I will bring my technology with me so that I can continue writing this blog with the ease of my keyboard. Meanwhile, around me there are enough people with challenging situations that call upon their internal resources to keep to their commitments and ride the tide, so to speak. This is what has moved me to write this blog. None of the situations are the same, but a lot of tension is building.

Saturn in Libra is asking us to make decisions, or that we’ve made our decisions and now we have to ride out the challenges that arise by experiences that do not appear to be our own creation. Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury are all packed in Aries, opposing Saturn in Libra, squaring Pluto all equating to a “Wooahh intensity.” All the while, the Sun, a fresh resident in the sign of Taurus (Earth) is the harmonizing point: Sun sextile Neptune (look for the higher purpose, deeper meaning and let go, surrendering to what is). Sun trine Pluto (Your life energy is being transformed and revolutionized, rapidly). Sun trine N. Node of the Moon (What is being required of you now on an essential level, has much future direction, and is providing the substance, or sustenance for the future). Moon square Neptune (Face illusions about the past, see the consequences of negative thought-habits or visions that repeat almost subconsciously, do you have any say in those?…. YES).

The bottom line is “resistance is futile.” Recognize that the more you experience friction at this time, the more you are unnecessarily attempting to enforce your will. That is, allow your will to be aligned with what is needed for the greatest interest of all. You are unlikely to know what that is, so it’s best to allow as much as you can. Step aside where needed, be useful in the most apparent and obvious ways, but stop there. Stop gently.

Much Love,
KM

Libra Full Moon, April 17th, Mystic Rectangle

Full Moon in Libra

image from http://www.astrologycom.com/easter.html

This full moon is in the sign of Libra. It’s an incredibly interesting and dynamic chart to look at. In astrology, the sun represents the masculine and the moon represents the feminine. When the two are in apparent opposition to one another, they “look” like they are on two separate sides from the earth’s view: the sun in Aries, and the moon in Libra. The moon gets the full illumination of the sun’s light. That’s why the whole circle is colored-in up there in the sky, bright light, to see at night. It’s a direct reflection. This phenomenon has been interpreted as a point of culmination in the solar/lunar cycle, and has descriptive meaning for the joining of masculine and feminine archetypes to “give birth ” or manifest.

Indeed, the full moon is associated with fertility, childbirth. The passage into life is often experienced as painful. I heard from a friend that scientists have put a microphone up to a caterpillar while erupting from out of its cocoon, and they have recorded what sounds like a “scream.” During human birth there are the mother’s cries as she labors

and delivers the child into this world. We are all familiar with that sound of cries, both mother and baby, during the birth process. I’m sure some part of us remembers the cry, and thereby we hold back during metaphorically re-birthing moments because of it.

Moon, Language of the Subconscious

Symbolism is so very fun to work with because it is the language of the subconscious, and it’s mostly always at work, even when we aren’t. That’s its ease and beauty, not to mention that symbolism is a way to connect with the source and spirit of everything—kind of like a dialogue that might not make sense to the logical mind. The rational mind is called “ration” or part, because that’s exactly what it is, only a part of mind.  To that extent we can say that the moon’s symbolism communicates to the subconscious mind, perhaps another part of mind; and, it’s the feminine aspect (receptive) that gets credited with happenings around the full moon in astrology.

Venus, Love Nature

This full moon is in the sign of Libra, a feminine sign, and also a sign said to be ruled by Venus. With Venus we can look to Goddess energy (which has its own active and receptive principles). She can be the Greek goddess Aphrodite or the Sumerian goddess of Inanna, among others. What’s more important is that her symbol draws a distinction between the feminine archetype of mother (moon) who is fecund, and points more to the sensuous side of feminine beauty. By looking at this chart, what is asking to be healed is the lower octave of Venus, the use and abuse of sensuality and art or edifice to manipulate and magnetize, for the sole purpose and intention of overpowering another–thereby causing them harm. We know why we are afraid to love, to be intimate; it makes us vulnerable to harm.  But, we don’t stop there, do we? Here’s one of my favorite quotes of all time to reflect on for the message of the higher octave of Venus:

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~Anais Nin

I think the vulnerability is worth it. That’s not to say, don’t be cautious. Be clear. Oh, be clear. Bloom in the full light of the Sun.

Mystic Rectangle

Also present in the chart is a lovely mystic rectangle: 2 sextiles, 2 trines, and 1 opposition. This really makes for some creative balancing. I don’t know how many people have noticed this, but I’ll use Albert Einstein as my example: he’s one of the greatest minds in human history, and no one denies that. But what society seems to deny, or maybe we just think it does, is that the mystical mind is not really a mind at all; in fact, it’s a director of mind. Albert Einstein–a pretty mystical guy–Allow me to quote him.

“The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms – this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.” (Albert Einstein -The Merging of Spirit and Science)

Somehow, somewhere, or maybe only in retrospect did his credible experiences become manifest and evident to the “world’s view” of what is relevant, reverent, and irrelevant and irreverent.  Got all those words?  Words and symbols just never serve, but we use them to point to the fact that there is something observable beyond them.

What about a mind that doesn’t see the bigger picture, the unity of all things? Well, here it is from Elsie Wheeler’s Sabian symbols, the full moon’s degree symbol:  Libra 28: A man alone in deep gloom. Unnoticed, angels are coming to his aid (originally published by Marc Edmund Jones but recorded from http://www.sabiansymbols.com/article-detail2d45.html?id=1453).

At once we begin to experience a sense of relief. At once! We can sense that maybe someone or something else knows how to communicate and ask for help, even when we do not. Herein lies the message of this full moon. Release. Expect the unexpected from an unknown source. It’s got a positive message for you, if you choose to see it. With this message, you can give birth to more harmony and abundance in your life. Attune yourself to this quality of receiving messages.

At this full moon with a Grand Trine (equilateral triangle) forming from Moon, to Chiron (wounded-healer), and the S. Node (past), we have a chance to heal our past wounds, and gently re-awaken our feminine side to love without restriction, while simultaneously maintaining your highest and purest ideals. In Libra, we can have compromise (give up an important part of ourselves) or we can have balance with others exactly as we are. This full moon says you can have your cake and eat it–and no one is harmed by that choice—in fact, it helps others if you do just that. Remember, that’s just a metaphor. Don’t take it literally. 😉

Many blessings,

KM

Pluto Retrograde

Hello, Shadow, dancing over there…

British Library Gate from http://commons.wikimedia.org/

Pluto goes into retrograde station on April 9, 2011 at 7 Capricorn 30, and then Station’s Direct on September 16, at 4 Capricorn 53.

I don’t think I realized it until this year that Pluto Retrograde is my favorite time of the year  =) usually lasting for about 6 months or half a year.  I might be realizing my good fortune now because Pluto stations retrograde conjunct my natal Part of Fortune, giving me ample opportunity to milk this one hardy and delicate spot on my birth-chart! Thank you, Pluto!

During Pluto Retrograde: increased are the powers of personal regeneration.  Improved is one’s own potential for deep transformation.  Reduced is the outward expression of Pluto/Power, and obsession.  Increased is the ability to harness any powers that seem to be used against you, realizing that power is you. You are the resistance, and now take back your reigns. Make decisions that free you from any external power—psychic power, financial authority, personal power—power that you’ve given away to someone or something else over your deepest and darkest secrets and treasures.  I, personally, will never be a fortune teller nor a misfortune teller. Please do not see me for any of these reasons, ever.  I will tell you what I know (from knowledge and intuition), what I have learned (from study and from practice), and what I have experienced (from what I have felt in my heart to be true)–beyond that, I give you the message that liberates you:  It is up to you.  You are the master of your Universe.

When you can see the shadow on the wall

Detachment from power is the most wonderful thing in the world. It’s the only way that you can look at ‘it’ and see it for what it really is. Detachment also triggers the allowance of true power to move through you—for it is not owned by anyone. What’s owned, nearest, dearest, and most accessible is just you, and it’s tremendously enough. More about retrograde movement comes from the best-selling Author and Astrologer Jeff Green—an expert on Pluto—from his trusty book I bought several, several years ago called, Pluto: the Evolutionary Journey of the Soul.

The correlative principle of retrogration can be defined this way: any planetary function (behavior) that is retrograde must be given an individual definition. The retrograde principle creates a reactive retreat from the status quo; from societal and collective definitions, expectations, and pressures to respond to life in conforming ways … .[The] Pluto retrograde tends to place the emphasis on the desire to return [to] the Source of the Soul, or to evolve in a more accelerated fashion. Because of the individualizing effect of Pluto retrograde, the person must do that which they must do in their own way.

See, your individual way is your individual right. It’s at these times (Pluto retrograde) where we can do the most with our soul’s dissatisfaction, and move toward that which allows our souls to re-merge with “All that is.” Pluto has a lot to do with our unconscious tendencies, and our habitual modes. When looking at psychological issues in an astrological chart, we look at Pluto’s placement in the chart, its aspects, and the conditions of 4th and 8th houses among other places. Where Pluto is housed shows our resistance to change. Flip the coin over, and we have our transformative power coiled before us.

You may have noticed just how much energy we generate through resistance. You may not have realized this, in which case: please check out the Sedona Method and start releasing today. You may have become aware of this principle of resistance through martial arts training. Masters have cultivated the ability to resist nothing, and thereby direct everything.  “The Tao nourishes by not forcing. By not dominating, the Master leads,” Lao Tsu.

Masters and Mastering

Pluto points out to us that place in life where we experience our greatest confrontation. Use this retrograde-period as an excellent time to investigate your inner confrontations, seek out your inner-resistance, and become completely aware of the presence and source of power in your life. Any awareness or light shed on this subject helps you to maintain control over yourself.  The method you use to secure power suggests the path that you opt to take in this life.  Please always choose wisely. If it is over others, you are fooling yourself.  Penetrate this understanding very thoroughly.  See through the dark by penetrating fully any darkness within. The times we live in demand that we become clear inside. Always seek a trusted master if you recognize that you will benefit from the courage and compassion of one who has walked the path. There are many masters, but only your heart knows what is true for you.

Aries New Moon, April 3, 2011

Aries New Moon and the First Law of Thermodynamics

This picture represent “heat” taken from a physics site, http://www.splung.com/content/sid/6/

The new moon will take place in the new moon chart’s 11th house, so the emphasis will be on starting projects, working in the community and with groups or associations, and finding a new orientation toward the desires and wishes of communities. The Ascendant is at Gemini sextile Jupiter in 11th, so there will be many opportunities with collective projects to discuss and communicate the vision for the future.

Saturn will be oriented in the 5th house in opposition to the new moon in the 11th, indicating that individuals will be challenged by obligations and other restrictions held by the domain of Saturn in Libra—restrictions are with authority.  Saturn in the 5th house also indicates major fear around taking risks because of the profound change that will come to relationships (Saturn square Pluto in 7th).

How this transit is dealt with will have a lot to do with the current maturity and development of the emotions of those involved (11th house moon trine N. Node). We may also be influenced by the feelings and suggestions of friends with regards to risk-taking, either with romance, art projects, children, or gambling and investments (5th house). In some cases, our responsibility to our children (5th house Saturn) or their issues will highlight the challenges we experience with our hopes and dreams.

Pluto in the 7th house sextiles, Neptune, Venus, and Chiron in the 9/10 houses of the new moon chart indicating that our future direction is unclear (Neptune) and we want to see more diplomacy and beauty (Venus). Nevertheless, while Pluto squares the Mars/Uranus conjunction during this new moon, plus or minus 2.5 days, there will be more unexpected uprisings with the pursuit to extricate individuals from powerful and oppressive governance and establishments (Pluto in Capricorn). Current societal power-constructs are very much under duress.

Sabian Symbol, from Elsie Wheeler for the new moon (Sun, Moon conjunction) is Aries 14: “A Serpent Coiling Near A Man And A Woman.” This symbol connotes the presence of temptation. It’s also the symbol of a powerful, healing energy presence.  Opposite this moon Saturn at Libra 14, Sabian symbol: Libra 14: “In The Heat Of The Noon, A Man Takes A Siesta.” Here’s the balancing point: Using one’s energy with wisdom. Preserve power, use it only when the environment supports that it will be most effective. Also, the snake can coil for many reasons, sometimes protection, sometimes to prepare to attack, sometimes to keep warm. But the basic symbols are consistent with the same principle. A man sleeping during noon is conserving his energy at a time when expending it would be most exhausting (when it’s most hot); and, a snake maneuvers itself into a coil or spring to increase its potential energy and position itself most effectively for attack.  One is reminded of “the metabolic cost of growth.” Be careful not to overdo, or waste potential energy. Use the conditions of your environment, consider the level of “heat” when deciding if it’s best to keep it cool and rest up.

Mercury Retrograde Aries, March 30, 2011

Mercury Retrograde in Aries

On March 30, 2011, Mercury goes retrograde (Rx) in Aries during the planetary hour of Saturn. Mercury will retrograde at the Aries point of 24 degrees 21 minutes.  Traditional Aries associations tied with Mercury are impatience, impulsivity, and overall fast and full-force action. During a retrograde phase, the apparent view of Mercury’s motion is backward.  Mercury’s apparent motion will turn direct on April 23, 2011. During the retrograde period the process is finding new solutions to old problems. Mercury retrograde is associated with delays in communication, travel, and scheduling. It’s a period allowing for re-thinking and re-doing. Mercury retrograde does not lend itself well to making new commitments (such as signing contracts) or starting new projects. It is simply a period for re-view.

At the point and time Mercury retrogrades, it will septile (51 degrees) Venus, Chiron, and Ceres in the sign of Pisces, sexile (60 degrees) Neptune in Pisces, and trine (120 degrees) the transiting N.Node. A septile aspect suggests the numinous, being 1/7 of 360 degrees, and expressing the 7th harmonic.

What all that means is the following:

We will review our artistic talents and concepts of healing and spirituality by reconnecting with areas in our lives where we experience a deep sense of purpose. Parent/child relations involve over-attachment, separation, or letting-go issues and we might receive or be seeking divine intervention with this. On a more mundane level, we need to be watching what we say and using our heads very pointedly to push through delays and stay on task. We may have moved too fast to begin with and need re-direct our energies into the most purposeful end result.

Venus conjunct Neptune: Things have been dreamy lately

Hello Folks!

I wanted to re-blog my older post in honor of the 29th degree of Aquarius, during our upcoming New Moon on February 18. It “took place” at the same degree as Venus Conjunct Neptune (@ Aquarius 29) in 2011 (03-25-11, date of my orig. post). I am wrapping up some themes here in my life as we embrace this “Nth” degrees of these signs (Next month Pisces 29). I’m happy to say that this is the second post I’ve written here at Fiesta Estrella, and I really wouldn’t change too much. I’d also like to dedicate this post to your celebrations of Valentine’s Day &/or MahaShivaratri (in our case) The marriage of Shiva & Shakti, with my sweetheart. We’ve had a wonderful journey, and I’m happy to see how far this blog has come, as have I. [I took 2012 off completely as part of my own transformation.] I am so grateful for my readers and commenters who have just shown how AWESOME they are on their own blogs – and who have taken the time to comment, engage, celebrate, and just Be with me here. I Love you All. ~Ka Malana
Wishing for you all kinds of Lovin’ this New Moon in Aquarius! LOVE-EQUALITY

From personal to impersonal, we make the leap to transpersonal

When are Ideas about Love Ideals and not entirely realistic?

I was discussing with a friend the ideals we have about love and relationships and how, over time, our ideals have both informed and misinformed us about true relating in our relationships.  It’s occurred to me a good reason that he and I are having this conversation is because of this transit. I’d like to examine this aspect here in my blog today:  Neptune conjunct Venus

A conjunction is an astrological aspect described as two planets or cosmic bodies co-existing side-by-side in an astrological chart.  The planetary energies fuse together, combining archetypes. Two archetypes are at play in the sign of Aquarius (detachment, and humanistic /impersonal love). The archetypes are Neptune: the submerged, sea-god Poseidon, who represents sacrifice and transcendence; and, Venus: representing Eros, personal love, and relationships.

Being a lover of love, it’s easy for me to allow myself to be very conscious of this topic. I have no problem addressing where my expectations in my intimate and love relationships have developed and where they play out.  But this was not always the case.

Step #1 is the realization of the dream-idea, taking a step back from my deepest yearnings and realizing what is factual, and what is actual. The “taking-a-step-back” has been wholly a result of experience. At this point, I have more notches on my lipstick case than I’d like to make record. Everyone has a different approach to this, and for me, abundance in love was not a quest—it’s been more like the result of processing through a strong ideal, and then living out the reality. Thereby, I’ve only had to give up what was necessary, as a part of my experience. That which was unreal, truly just fell away.

The planet Neptune will always bring up the question of what is possible.  It’s the spiritual aspect of love. Neptune is a higher octave of Venus. I recommend you take a step back from your current dream and just take a look at your historical relationship record: (Venus conjunct Neptune in trine aspect to South Node). The South Node indicates our past, sometimes this life, sometimes beyond.  I recommend you do this because of what is to come.

Love that is to come: April 4 and beyond

The reason why Neptune’s movement into Pisces is so spectacular is because its theme will last until 2025. Get used to the fogginess.  There is an obvious “foggy” affect that is making you feel like you are swimming through some unified field of a greater matrix that your brain cannot comprehend—in fact, you are not exactly “seeing” but experiencing this unity-consciousness on a bodily level. Venus is the ruler of the sign Taurus: all things that are sensory, tangible, and experiential. Take this BIG LOVE LOOK because Neptune is switching out of Aquarius (impersonal, human, individual love) and moving into Pisces which is the sign that it rules: imagination, spirituality, transcendence, confusion, and possibly deception.  Don’t worry, deception is always a result of misinforming the self. Get honest with yourself and you have less outside of you that can strike you with deception. Neptune was in Aquarius since 1998. This brings up a lot of questions for people about the Age of Aquarius, but I’m sorry that is too complicated to get into in this blog on Neptune and Venus, and Neptune in Pisces. I’ll say this, we didn’t start doubting science on a collective level as “all there is” until this transit. Also, we who love science very passionately, were secretively exploring other “less science-y” things—in the closet.

April 4: A dip into Pisces, and then swimming back to Aquarius

On April 4th, Neptune will hang out in Pisces, starting here, and then will exit back into Aquarius in August 2011, as a part of its retrograde cycle, only to return to Pisces on February 2012, and stay until 2025. Yes, this is a long time.  Neptune is giving us a clue about this transformation because it is conjunct-ing Venus at the last degree of Aquarius. I always pay special attention to “goodbyes” and “hellos;” what surrounds these transitional moments are hints. I know this because in 2012 Saturn is going to be in Scorpio, the opposite sign of Taurus.  Our relationships and how we share (our money and energy) is up for review.  You thought already that it was being reviewed because of our crashing world economy, but that’s the macro speaking to the micro. Get ready to look more closely at how the details play out on a personal level.

Transpersonal Questions

Last time Neptune was in Pisces was in the 1840s: consider the California gold rush and Spiritualism. Do you think these things could re-emerge? Is there a dream land where there’s metaphorical gold, and if so, is it in this world? If there are other dimensions, can we communicate and traverse these dimensions, by communicating with beings on another plane of existence? Do we even care what reality is… if we find a way to make use of the unclear messages and obscure wisdom emerging from “nowhere”?  More people will be intrigued with these questions, and the progressive, high-science-minded may even follow suit. Notions of Past/Present/Future may seem more like arbitrary descriptions of time rather than clear, concise representations of time.  Of course, we will always conduct our experiments and seek proof (thankfully)—but I have a feeling that our experiments will start looking wackier.

In Summary:

‘Reality’ is something that is becoming more and more spiritualized, as we personally re-emerge with the source of our individual lives, and shape our reality consciously. We will use our new sense of reality to evaluate our relationships, and many of us will set forth on the journey to making those dreams reality, as we believe we can truly cultivate this dream in relationship to one another. As long as we are clear with ourselves about what we deem to be real and not-so-real, we are good to go anywhere. Be aware of the danger of dishonesty and you are golden. The “new” golden age may look like a dark age, but it depends on your internal GPS. Have fun with this plot as it unfolds (Neptune was in Sagittarius at my birth) so I’ll also recommend having fun when things get weird and unexplainable. Maybe that’s just my generational coping-mechanism, but it is meant to help you swim through your life with joy—as I, without a doubt, intend to trust my life without the expectation that it unfold in a certain and particular way.

This should have been posted earlier today but it was more important to me to support my friend while she played piano, and be graced by her beauty in all her ways.

Vernal Equinox, March 20 2011

Vernal Equinox, Sun conjoins Uranus in Aries

At the vernal equinox, we have a 12/12 situation: 12 hours of day, and 12 hours of night. This happens every year on the first day of spring.  Uranus, known as master of invention, and brilliance with electricity and magical displays of power, inspired from above—will be smack-dab next to our very own nuclear-reactor Sun. The sun has a special place in our astrological charts. Its solar fusion is a metaphor for our own spiritual engine—that mechanism “lighting up” our lives. At this time, our consciousness is like 50/50. We’ve got the light shining on things we are aware of, but we aren’t aware of it all.

Vernal Equinox Chart

Woohoo!  Ok, here we go:  A big square into Sun conjunct Uranus. Where’s the tension? Where’s the creativity needed? It’s all around us (squaring the nodes of the moon). We realize that we are going through this tension with those around us.  Saturn is hobnobbing with the moon. Restrictions are coming from security needs and beliefs about love and values, maybe even material things (Saturn conjunct Moon, trine Venus). This energy is stabilizing the Saturn/Moon to Sun/Uranus opposition.  What’s favored by the universe in this “stand-off” is the Sun/Uranus point because it’s right at the vernal equinox point. Here’s your ticket. Go for the ride. Be a free bee and buzz around the beautiful flowers that shall spring. Since the Planet Neptune is trine to the South Node and sextile to the North Node, you need to trust your intuitive answers right now more than anything else. A sextile (60 degrees) aspect is more constructive than a trine aspect (120 degrees), which means that you have to work a tiny bit to get the benefits, but this is easy work.  Whereas, the trine aspect, indicates absolute flow.

Pluto

Your psychology, your power, your deepest capability to bring forth transformation: this is based at the vernal equinox’s 4th house part of the chart. Our home, our roots, and the soil that nurtures whatever we wish to plant into our lives herein lies. Make your soil very fertile now, allow what needs to decay fall away, so that it can provide fodder for the new little greenlings we are expecting to emerge this spring.  We know this is not easy, for we have tenderness under what we protect. That is okay, also. Let nature do its thing and clean up the ground for you. We have “April rain” for a reason, so I am suggesting let tears come through as they may. When we sacrifice our current position we are giving an offering to the gods. The gods live through us. All life is purposeful and all life is remembered in our hearts. Our dear Japanese friends and all of our losses, financial, emotional, relational, are actually gifts. Difficult to see. Difficult to know, but the key word is reverence. Let’s be tender and delicate with full life-awareness.

Equanimity

It’s tough to achieve, but the only thing truly worth the work. Today is an appropriate day for meditation, for a pause. Ground yourself as much as possible for the energy of Uranus is electrical. We want to be able to manage it. Also, be with others, as yourself. This day individuality (Sun and Uranus) is and the vernal equinox is a seed planting time. Be dutiful and pure in your intention to plants the seeds in your life that your heart wants to see be born.

Full Moon Virgo, March 19, 2011: Illumination

Are you servicing your soul (Pisces) with your pragmatism (Virgo)?

If ‘yes,’ excellent! If ‘no’… then, who do you serve?… If you don’t serve you , then who does?

I’m looking at the full moon chart for March 19, 2011, and it’s not the easiest due to the mutable grand cross configuration involving the moon’s nodes; but, before anyone gets too carried away by being flustered: the good news is that Venus and Neptune are making very harmonious contacts. Venus (love and values) is sextile Mercury (communication and thoughts), so let’s just say that communication is active (Aries) and somewhat objective (Aquarius).  However, that’s not the whole story for communication: next to the full moon is Saturn, which tends to have a reserved or restrictive quality—meaning that you may have a meaning/need/or feeling to convey but have not the words to convey it, or you may realize you need to say something, but can’t quite get the big picture (Jupiter) to fit with just words, so what to do… ?

Let it be

Here’s where Neptune, a planet making harmonious aspects to the moon’s nodes, comes in—use its better energies: surrender your issues to a higher-power for resolution. The moment you release to Spirit though, is the moment you have to make your senses very acute and await a reply. That’s right, it doesn’t mean your job is done just because you’ve surrendered your worries and issues. It means you’ve requested help, and then you listen keenly/watch very perceptively for your reply. One more thing: you have to honestly want that answer, whatever it is. Be willing to accept it.

Sun opposite moon

Now it’s tough to say all this, and get away with it, simply because there are so many factors of “affect” going on in the sky currently. Uranus is newly in Aries and very close to the transiting Sun, but not officially conjunct (or joining energies) with the sun yet (March 21st 2011). Uranus is worth mentioning because wherever he is in the sky, usually coincides with very unpredictable events—real wild-card surprises. Usually the purpose of his symbolism is to bring your awareness into a greater expression of humanity, usually in terms of “setting free” and “individuating” certain aspects of your life. So during this full moon, Uranus is on the Sun’s side.  The Moon however (in opposition to the Sun, as is perceived with a full moon) is on the same side of the tracks as Saturn. Emotions are challenged. Our life-force wants to be set free, but our sense of security wants to stay right where it is. For Virgo, this could be with health or with work.

The full moon could be in any house

As you know from my previous blog, a full moon brings forth new knowledge or illumination to the area of the chart where it occurs.  For example, if the moon became full in your 7th house (astro-terminology)—that would be the house that indicates “other,” one-to-one relationships, marriage or business partners.  Or, depending on your birth chart, the full moon could occur in your 4th house, having to do with things home-related, projects coming to culmination in the house. You see, it depends on “where” a planet is transiting with regard to your natal configuration.

Other clues about the days on or around March 19th?

We can, however, think back to December 21, 2010, when we had the Total Lunar Eclipse.  Do you remember the days before Christmas? This was the winter solstice which happened to coincide with a total eclipse of the moon at the last degree of Gemini, a point that this full moon will be squaring (in difficult angle). When there is a difficult angle, say a “square,” this can bring friction or creativity. The choice is yours. Just be aware that somewhere the flow has a kink in it. Find it and make the best of it. For example, did you begin thinking up New Year’s resolutions that it’s time now for you to refer back to?

Opportunity to grow more deeply

I’ve got more good news: Jupiter is very close to Mercury so you will be growing and learning intellectually. You’ll be more aware of the bigger picture, and the ramifications of your current beliefs. My only caution to you with this aspect is to watch that you don’t overdo something with words, or by expression of too much over-confidence. Jupiter has the ability to enlarge concepts and make them very grand.  Since Mercury will be squaring Pluto your thoughts and conversations will likely be serious and go deep beneath the surface. It all depends on your natal aspects, and how the planetary arrangements/archetypes have worked on your psychology throughout your years.

Certainty

One thing is certain: the future is not fixed, and how everything looks right now may be very different from how it looks tomorrow, or the day after. Get in touch with your deep intuition (Neptune in Pisces). Again, this is the good side of Neptune ! Which will be heading back into Pisces on April 4th, 2011, the sign it rules—home at last.  Sometimes tapping into your source is your only real safety against an unknown future.

With Love and Gratitude ~

Uranus in Aries

Uranus is Hoppin’ into Aries, ready to drive.

Matchbox Cars

You know those matchbox cars that you rev up, turning the wheels while you hold the tiny car in your hand, winding it up to set it down and just “let go.”  That’s what I see happening now….
Uranus changes signs about every 7 years.  Remember the “seven-year itch,” or that all the cells in your body are new every 7 years? Uranus entered Pisces in March 2003.  Think about all that has changed. Some science (Uranus) has gotten mystical, and some mystics (Pisces) have gotten scientific. Pisces is diffuse and dilutes the mind’s sharp sense for direction. Pisces teaches faith while naturally bringing doubt and confusion. We are better for walking this path, for surrendering to the “unknown” and to that holy mysterious place within and without.

To my calculations, Uranus will be “setting foot” in the territory of Aries on March 11, 2011. Of course, this is a movement taking the course of approximately 7 years.  Sure it’s a relatively slow movement in the heavens–so you’ll feel the changes in gradation all the while. However, usually when a planet crosses over a threshold, our lives begin to move in ways that are fairly recognizable.  In the special case of lightning-fast Uranian symbolism, and naïvely quick Aries temperament, we’ve got quite an animal being born in our lives.
Think about all the disillusionment that you’ve experienced while Uranus was in Pisces.  Now you can use your disillusionment and group-mind to bring out your individual. This is a time for being “self” without being “self-ish.” You have all the permission in the world.

Where’s my Uranus At?

Uranus is my natal chart’s ruler, so I’m really hoppin’ for sure. I’ve got a million ideas that I’m ready to ship out of my nervous system, and I’m going to do it in packets of energy. How will you use this new development? For many of you I wonder where Uranus is in your chart now, what house it’s occupying, and what other details I could know to help you get a better picture of what’s for dinner, if you know what I mean. I could tell you more about my chart but really, that’s just boring.  I could also give you a “canned” version of your stars, but that’s also boring. So, just write me a little note and I’ll tell you where Uranus is if you don’t already know.

Aquarius …

That said,

Aquarius is the sign ruled by the planets Uranus and more traditionally Saturn.  If you know anyone with the standard Aquarian temperament, they are usually very genius, albeit aloof, but they got tons of friends. The reason why is that they will be a friend to anybody. They serve the human need for invention, and can spend tons of time alone, apart…but never quite totally detached from humanity, just serving humanity from a different platform. Aquarians are quirky and always recognize what’s special and yet very ordinary about others. They like groups of people who share a purpose.

We are likely to see more developments and quick clustering of like-minded people.  People have the fire lit and they are ready for change. Playing with Uranus is like playing with a mystery card—it’s powerful because, will it be good? (serve my wishes) or will it be bad? (not serve my wishes).  In reality, the only wishes we really want honored are the ones that are good for us. Alas, we don’t always know what’s good for us. Therefore, it’s wise to use this time to consider how we are going to deal with the changes that are thrust upon us now.  My recommendation is to cultivate a certain Aquarian detachment.  That is, see the bigger picture. This will help us get out of any heated mess we get ourselves into with the Aries inspiration to “just-go-already.” There you have it. Let your courage be, accept what happens as a result, and also, let’s revisit friendship.

Friendship and Heavenly Music

We need our friends. At this time I urge you to save yourself some hassle, if you already haven’t started, and consider if your friends are really your friends.  Believe me this is a time where you stop listening to what other people tell you who they are to you, and you decide for yourself: “this person, ‘such-and-such’ calls me their friend, and I’m happy that they do… but, really, I don’t think they are much of a friend to me in return.” Think about the balance. We will be spending more energy on this and developing the true spirit of friendship—it’s really about how we are with humanity. I remember the story of the Good Samaritan: consider how you treat strangers, that detachment is the key.

Freely giving love through friendship, brotherly and sisterly love, is the most open and loving relationship that we can still label “a relationship.” Let’s keep in mind that Saturn in Libra will oppose Uranus in Aries.  Libra is about relationships and Saturn is about restrictions or commitments. Uranus is about freedom and individuality and Aries is about self.  Libra is about “other” and, Saturn (roles, structures, convention) are in opposition, bringing awareness and often-times an element of confrontation.

SO…..

—–>What’s rising to the consciousness is the sudden changes in friendships and relationships.  *Remember your relationship to yourself.* If you can honor you, then you can step into authentic relationship (other). Not before, not after—all the time.  Make it a mantra. Know/love thyself and honor your connection to all life. Keep this in balance and your lightning rod/antenna (Uranus) will pick up heavenly music instead of static electricity, or worse—a sudden flash that knocks you off your feet with a clap of thunder.

With much love and gratitude ~

Moon-Cycle Planning

Project Management: the Moon

The tides

“The moon exerts a force on the earth, and the Earth responds by accelerating toward the Moon [or “falling” toward the moon]; however, the waters on the side facing the Moon, being closer to the Moon, accelerate more and fall ahead of Earth. Similarly, Earth itself accelerates more than the waters on the far side and falls ahead of these waters. Thus two aqueous bulges are produced, one on the side of Earth facing the Moon, and one on the side facing away from the Moon. As Earth rotates on its axis beneath these two bulges, the rise and fall of the oceans results.” Princeton website

For centuries the moon has been used for timing the cultivation of food, and planning events related to fertility. Tidal life is most obviously affected by the gravitational forces of the moon, earth, and sun. Shoreline-affected areas can expect fluctuations in salinity and alter marine life population densities.

Can you just picture the approximately 60% or more of water that makes up your body, swish around inside of you *very slowly* as the gravitational bodies of the sun, earth, and moon change their relationships throughout the day?  Nope, maybe you can’t. Consider how difficult it is to experience the true spin of the planet, right now, whirling on its axis and barreling through the universe along with everything else.

Perhaps what’s most important is, that regardless of what forces you feel acting on your body, a cyclical aspect to your body does exist (and this could never be more apparent than for females).  Developing a rhythm for your life’s activities that accords with the moon‘s cycles—and even just recognizes the symbolic cycles of the moon, may turn out to be a very, very illuminating endeavor!

28 Day Project management = Life Management

New Moon

The time of the new moon is dark; it’s when the moon is between the earth and sun, and when the moon therefore obscures the light of the sun. During a new moon, it’s a subjective time. A time for creating your plan, bringing that plan into existence, and giving it some tender nurturing as it develops into a fuller idea. Start to think about what types of materials, resources, and materials you might need.  This is not a good time to express your ideas just yet (duration 3-4 days).

Cresent Moon

The crescent moon suggests that a tiny sliver of light begins assisting you in putting your plan into motion—internally.  Whatever you experience here as resistance, is internal and is related to emotions that arise resisting your plan.  See this period as a natural time to brush away your inner fears, and begin to develop strategies for dealing with any concerns that arise. Here you are ready to speak of your plans to the public. (duration 3-4 days)

First-quarter Moon

This is a time for organization, and building the framework to support your project.  Foundations are put into place and the idea is expanding into a growing reality. Here’s where you intensify activity related to your plan. (duration 3-4 days).

Gibbous Moon

Gibbous Moon and First-quarter moon are times for working past any emerging obstacle.  The project will be challenged as to its validity in the bigger picture of your own life and as it relates to the lives of those in your bigger social circles. Furthermore, this period is critical to maintaining your health and nourishment. (duration 3-4 days).

Full  Moon

At the full moon is an “apparent” outcome. This is where you can assess, “Was my plan successful, or did it fail?” Do I need a partner? What else have I seen or realized at this time that I did not before?

Disseminating Moon

This is when you assess the outcome of the project in the light of sharing it with others. This can be a truly challenging period, because it matters how well you can see and use constructive criticism. Here you can see from a larger perspective. (duration 3-4 days)

Third-quarter Moon

Building on the previous phase, it’s necessary to integrate the new understanding that came from sharing your project with others—and opening up your work to criticism. Here, the more that your perspective was broadened in the previous phase, the more you are successful and easily replace unproductive aspects of the project with more productive ones—such as attitudes, details, or materials involved in the project. (duration 3-4 days)

Balsamic Moon

Somewhere between here and the new moon, you need to wrap up everything you’ve learned.  You can spend some time de-briefing yourself on your related experiences, and even begin to draw up a consolidated view of your experience—doing whatever you need to do to clear out and be ready for what you may want to begin in the new moon cycle.

If you know what sign the moon was in when you were born, you can add a whole new dimension to regulating your life.  There are many free resources online that where you can draw your astrological chart. http://www.astro.com Contact me if you are interested in exploring your moon’s sign and placement in more depth. Also the phase the moon was in at the time of your birth describes your incarnation cycle. My own natal moon was in a balsamic moon at my time of birth, indicating an old soul.

New Moon Awareness from Head to Toe

New Moon on Friday, March 4th, 2011 at 3:46 PM EST in Pisces

~A good time for beginning a new spiritual practice~

Pisces Sun and Moon join

With this Pisces new moon consider how important your daily commitment is to your Spiritual life. Does it even exist? If not, why are you here?

In psychological astrology, the sign of Pisces shows us our intuitions and how we connect with the divine Source. Can you merge with All-That-IS? Pisces also shows us how we can develop compassion-this is where we were once swept up and challenged with boundaries, and our challenge with “not knowing” what to do. If you dive into the Piscean waters, I guarantee you’ll see that there’s a lot inside of you. What swims in your unconscious may be of value to you, and to the collective–so why not start paying attention? How else would you know otherwise?

The opposite sign of Virgo in the Virgo-Pisces polarity shows us how the body, Spirit’s house, is to be used in service to Spirit, and to others in our world. We can learn a lot from Virgo at this time about the “How-To’s” of spirituality. Consider the following:

How do you honor the Spirit in you? Do you listen to it?

Do you exercise it?
Do you feed it?

But…how do I…?       Start Anywhere, NOW.

This sign of Pisces is so active right now in everyone’s chart. That’s why I am telling you more about the sign of Pisces than describing the energy of the new moon by itself. The new moon is a new moon: a beginning, though it can’t quite yet be seen. The full moon will bring the illumination of the seed you are now planting. This new moon is connected to larger, greater cycles within the sign of Pisces.

Right now, we’ve got the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, and Chiron, all transiting in Pisces. Wow! The infusion of new beginnings (new moon) is having a major discussion with mars (the planet of action). If this doesn’t get your fire lit, Uranus certainly will.

Uranus waves “Adios, Auf Wiedersen, Au Revoir” to Pisces

Uranus (electricity, flashes of insight) will deliver you with the sometimes kick-in-pants change you need. If you feel restless, think: Uranus. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. Send me a message and we can look at your chart to see where these planets are working specifically in your life at this time. Uranus is saying goodbye to Pisces and will move into Aries mid-month. Are you READY for all this?

Neptune says, “Hello” after 165 years of transiting the Zodiac

Pisces’s planetary ruler, Neptune, will be transiting in its own sign next month: Pisces. When a planet is on its own turf, it’s just so much more comfy. Neptune takes 165 years to transit the sun–meaning that Neptune hasn’t been in Pisces since 1847. Beginning in April, on April 4, 2011, Neptune “goes home” so to speak.  When a planet occupies the sign that it rules, it shows it’s better, more conscious side–we all show our brighter side when we are content. This is a taste of something fairly long-lasting. Neptune will go back into Aquarius this August-February 2012, returning to Pisces for about 13 years.  I will be writing more on this topic in the future.  I just want to demonstrate why you should take this New Moon seriously.

Tapping into Spirit, using your body

This is a good time to start a meditation practice. Even if it’s only 5 minutes a day. Be diligent. Show spirit that you can surrender just 5 minutes of your day to whatever happens in that time. Set your timer. Go.

Eat with conscience and consciousness.  Feel the food in your mouth, taste it, experience its textures and how it absorbs into your mouth.  At what point did that ‘one’ bite dissolve into invisible nutrients, supplying your body with energy?

When you walk to your car, or to the door of your house—before you enter the building at work, how do your feet feel?  Can you bring your consciousness to your feet?  Let me ask you, do your feet feel differently depending on where you are going?  I’m sure you have never imagined living like this!!  With Pisces (imagination), you do yourself and others a service to bring increased awareness into your life.  Start with your body, and where you are right here and now.

Trust me. This is going to be awkward at first, but if you surrender (Pisces) to the experience, beautiful things will happen. Remember to *imagine* the positive visions. Keep that focus on the best outcome, let go, and trust.
