This new moon in Taurus has the following major aspects:
- Conjunct Mercury in Taurus
- Conjunct Uranus in Gemini
- Sextile Jupiter in Cancer
- Sextile Neptune in Aries
This New Moon, depending on which house in your natal chart, will open a door to the opportunity to lay a more enduring foundation and point of presence and security in your life. This may come through a deeper analysis of your values and how you want to express them in the area of your chart as indicated when projected onto the nativity chart.
Pluto is trine the Mercury and Uranus conjunction helping us to really pull out old thought forms, extricate them by the roots; and, that is part of the process for laying the new foundation with the Taurus new moon. Uranus lends the archetype for out-of-the-box thinking and unusual inspiration.
With the Venus and Neptune square at this new moon, there’s still a question around what possibilities can exist for which delusions and illusions are influencing your experience, how to enlighten these remaining questions around relationships, finances and values, is rooted in beliefs and perceptual overlay (Neptune).
Overall this New Moon is like a welcome mat to the new domain of a more enduring and unshakeable foundation within your life, one that is palpable, concrete, and able to discern.
During a time with so much chaos, uncertainty and unknown, there’s a place within your life is inviting you deeper into your solid knowing and inner core. This can be further activated with Taurean themes such as music and vocalizing, using the voice and getting your hands deep into the soil/soul of a garden. This can be opening your senses further to the vibrations of the cosmos that are ever more permeating the Earth experience with more awareness at the collective level. Feeling out the dance steps to a favorite song can be another way to boost your knowing and embodied experience of this New Moon and strengthen its potential to help you manifest and experience more solid ground.
Many blessings! May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering. May we all move closer to our authentic beingness with each lunation, as we are part of the process of the awakening for all. W
e are the one being, each uniquely flavored aspects of this on-going creation, fulfilling our purposes and sharing our experience as we can, will, and do. Blessed be. blessed be!
You certainly seem to be synthesising Buddhist and “pagany” ideas into… your more solid foundation?
Maybe. Maybe I read too much into your words.
Anyhow… Reality is not as it is, but as you are. True for all of us? That may seem rather chaotic, anarchic. A denial of a solid foundation. But, I think, within the madness of refusing to think inside any box (and who would want o do so?) is the certainty that, in a very basic sense, we do, each, make our own reality. We form our own universe as we see it.
Certainty comes from realising that. And from realising that objective certainty is hopelessly overrated.
None of us stand still, and each foundation is, maybe, more of a platform to build the next. And, maybe, leave the old a smoking ruin. Sometimes.
In spiritual matters – and that is far wider than musing and meditating; a coffee in the morning can be highly enlightening… – perhaps the issue is to learn to be bold. Well, if Taurus really is a bull, it won’t brook much in its way. That foundation is, perhaps, already within each of us. Waiting for us to claim the ground.
I’m rambling again, and am in danger of turning into a puff of smoke and disappearing up my own mobile phone. Now, that would make an interesting diversion to reality… 🤣
Have a good weekend, Ka.
Hi Simon,
The words are moving in your mind and it’s interesting to see your flow of consciousness and where you had ended up. Taurus the “stubborn” bull also archetypal patience and deliberate continuance—which with the persistence of inquiry can go into interesting places, solidifying or disintegrating if you are aimed at the red. If this contradiction indicates a lack of stability, it’s a temporary moment, and once again perceptual. If you wanted to get all quantum-y you could say that no solid world exists as the atoms are all spacious and we are all in the illusion of solidity (even if it works). Clearly any astrological musings would be even less founded in this unveiled reality. Right? However, there is a cultural construct through which astrological does function. Did you notice how pervasive it is? It has great collective influence for even those who would disregard it as meaningless.
You alluded to the core of inner stability always being there. Yes, in some sense! However, that would be a rediscovery and not “new.”
What an opportunity shows here (back to astrology) could be renewed awareness/consciousness as in apparently for the first time. So apparent vs. actual. Let’s not split hairs though because then it’s gets all over the place with confusion! So maybe a mix is the ground for further opened doors. 🚪
What is suggested here in this New Moon in Taurus is that something more fuller can manifest here, and gently guide a more sturdy foundation than the previous, broken down one (doesn’t have to be philosophy, Simon!). We all will do this differently, and maybe even similarly (at the same time), since the way we relate all our unique experiences are similarly consolidated inwardly as we build personal story and ego constructs. *There’s also sensation and possibility for non-conceptual awareness as solidity.*
Buddhism can help with the middle path in the sense that it’s not ‘just’ that “reality is not as it is, but as you are.” There is a perceptual, filtered mind, a mind that imputes meaning and therefore existence to things and objects, but there is still the conventional existence of things (objectivity is the common parlance for the conventional as I was taught). To say anymore goes beyond the scope of this particular post. It also gets into vocabulary not meant for deeper unpacking right now.
What is sturdy for you in the real (conventional) world is a 4 legged table verses a 2-legged one!? If you try to set your laptop or heavy mobile phone (you mentioned) in the wrong place on an unsteady table… it stops functioning as a table.
Happy frolicking through thought and enjoying your weekend as a vapor!!! Formless! Haha 🤣 Picturing you as a coffee/espresso vapor along with your pipe that you previously mentioned. 🌸🌈🙏🏼 I’ll close with a pagan-y frame: May you remain close with Hekate and under her torch of protection, lighting the way for your passage through a conventionally existing New Moon (astronomy) in Taurus (astrology). 😂🤩🕯️🙏🏼
And a good Sunday morning to you (actually, soon to be afternoon here – dinner is in the oven…)
I must correct the idea that I am an espresso vapour! Greek coffee vapour, yes. The difference is subtle, but important 🤣
I must also point out that even 4 legged tables can be surprisingly rocky. So can chairs, as I discovered years ago, when one on which I was sitting decided to divest itself of a leg.
Anyhow…
Your comment on Buddhist thought is interesting. One interpretation is the idea of some sort of cosmic mind that holds us – and everything – in existence. The point of that, however, seems to me that the solidity of this existence rather depends on the consistency of the dream that creates it. And, I suspect, the universe has a sense of humour.
Another interpretation is that the world tends to conform to our expectations – which is rather worrying given the current state of things.
But, I am not a Buddhist, and, likely, never will be. So, my ideas are probably, idiosyncratic. Mind, Dogen is hilariously obtuse.
“Doesn’t have to be philosophy”? What else might it be? What, in the end, is not philosophy, at some level? (I’m being mischievous here, but throwing that thought in the water to see how far the ripples extend)
My pipe is in my mouth. The taste of the peppermint teabag is comforting. How better to frolic through thought than with the metaphors of poetry? I chose that path in Hekate’s torchlight long ago…
One final thought…
“Objectivity” is a meaningless term, as it must be interpreted subjectively.
Have fun
Ooh, what was in the oven?
Greek coffee, thank you! 🙏🏼 Yes you have me laughing about the wretched 4 legged tables that are an abomination to tables. You have story of one that left its leg go in the middle of its service? Yikes! 😳 We so agree on just about everything, actually, when we deconstruct it enough. 😂 Or, maybe not, but definitely about the sense of humor. The gods, God, G_d, the guides, the universe, Buddha… anything missed, Source? Hekate (my one version of namesake “Kate”.. maybe why she shows up here in your eyes). hilarious even (that torch shines so bright). (Humorous ) Maybe not always to us, directly… but when we get in on it. Or, get on with it. I like to throw philosophy into the trash can and free myself of anything besides the experiential and empirical and experimental.
Yes, objectivity is its own joke.
But within myself I get to have a solid empirical building… and it’s okay to challenge its sturdiness because it’s always getting refined and rebuilt! I bid you well with your peppermint, your vapor, your indestructible formlessness!
Much work to do over here. I hope you are enjoying your semi-retirement! When I find time I’ll publish my *second* poetry book.
My own poetic heart longs.. and is full of longing. Moon and transit watching… in the meantime… (its own poem) and all the while… taking it all in through observation that began since beginningless time. A hug! Simon. I bid thee ever well.
Evening
The oven contained pork chops for my wife and son, and haddock/potato fishcakes for me. I’ve never been an overly enthusiastic meat eater, and these days limit the intake of red meat for health reasons.
If you were to ask me my view of deity generally, it is that there is one god but many gods, just as there is one humanity but many humans. And the spark of divinity is within humanity also. Not always easy to identify, but it is there… somewhere…
Hekate is not just “here” – she quickly became my focus back in the days when I first struck out into a pagan set of ideas. Odd. I was expecting Athena.
Is not concentrating on experience, empiricism and experiment an expression of your personal philosophy? You are not getting away from us philosophers that easily…!!! Especially if you are going to write more poetry.. 😂
It strikes me you would enjoy the Fortean Times. It’s a magazine of the weird. I’m reasonably sure I recall reading in a recent issue of someone watching an item fall through a solid table top – even though both the item and the table top remained apparently solid. Glitch in the matrix? Actually, it is not a magazine that endorses believing anything – the “philosophy” is more a sort of: “could be; could be not; who knows – just enjoy the ride…” I also find it quite hilarious.
I am, currently “part time” rather than semi retired. The partial retirement starts in July – when i will be even more partially part time.
Anyhow, and a touch more seriously, of course your heart longs. It is what hearts are for. The words that most often seem to impress themselves on mine these days: “I want to go home”. I do not mean the house in which I am, currently, sitting.
Keep watching the moon, the stars, and listening to the wind. These will guide you where your spirit dwells. A hug back at you. Or, in Welsh terms, a “cwtch”. Be well also. Don’t work too hard – and never be without time to watch those stars.
Same with me on meat. The longing for me is more about free flow into embodiment in this life. I probably don’t have the bandwidth open up to Fortean Times but I’ve taken note! 📝 You are probably right. I would never be able to stop observing… it’s the real me! Haha 🤣
Cwtch received and given! 🫂 Keep being awesome my friend. I enjoy our time when we can meet here! Cheers and I’ll share the Greek coffee and cheers my mid-day espresso martini for an enforced break while cooking some yellow pea pasta (super healthy) to go with the organic orange chicken for the people who eat it as they need mega protein. The pea pasta is insanely protein laden. Thank goodness 😅 for needs being met and the abundance we are fortunate enough to have: May all beings be nourished and fed and well resourced!! 💖🙏🏼🥲
Testing times Ka. It is all seemingly asking us to go deeper and find the truth of that love within us. It is there, we just have to trip over a few old bits we’ve been hanging on to. And of course, have the odd chocolate to give us strength 🤣
Great post kind lady, just dare to love. Us and others 🤗❤️🙏
Yes, Mark. We could use some breaks during these testing times… couldn’t we? Seems a bit non-stop on all the fronts.
The ground and certainty of love is as clear as day and night though. It is our love that keeps us going and expanding, and the sun that keeps rising within that elegant space we get to live and be at home with each other. That love is indeed inside—and also everywhere…
Thank you, Mark! 💗🙏🏼🙂
Love your posts Ka! I am feeling and understanding so much of what you write! ‘A welcome mat to the new domain of a more enduring and unshakeable foundation within your life, one that is palpable, concrete, and able to discern.’
It’s messy, challenging, and liberating all at the same time and it’s what life asks from us right now. Lots of love and abundance to you and the wisdom you share 🧡🌈💜👏
Thank you so very much, Karen! 🌈💗🌸
I love your translations of the sky’s dances! This weekend’s new moon played strongly within my visions and dreams, starting Friday actually. I hope to move some of those feelings and thoughts into actions, which is where I sometimes lose the thread and get stuck. Have a great week and thank you for sharing your beautiful words and world!
Thank you so much, Kristen! Also thank you for sharing… picturing your flow… 💖💖💖
