Things that come…

From yimmyayo collection
From yimmyayo collection

There are things that come

When awake. Like right now…

I’m watching this snake

Uncoil

And face me.

I hear it HiSS in my mind

But it makes no sound.

Is that So, a sound, that is not to confound-

But in Love

A true Hiss. The other sound of Kiss?

This snake has a message for me.

Buried deep within the cavities of

The Earth.

She sleeps, you know.

She sleeps like a rock on a River bed,

dreaming of her own Softening.

We’ve got this upcoming New moon in Aquarius at 29 on the 18th – an anaretic degree, and a momentous New Moon/Solar eclipse on March 20 – in the anaretic degree of Pisces 29 – right on the heels of the final exact square Uranus/Pluto transit series of 7 (having lasted 2012-2015). The nodes of the moon have been referred to as the head and tail of the dragon or serpent. The nodes are mathemetical degrees (and not physical bodies). They are points that mark the Moon’s path where it crosses the ecliptic. This poem was not written for these transits but just happens to coincide with a time of passage.

A Walk with Kabir: The past, the present, and the unwritten

“The flute of interior time is played whether we hear it or not,

What we mean by “love” is its sound coming in.

When love hits the farthest edge of excess, it reaches a wisdom.

And the fragrance of that knowledge!

It penetrates our thick bodies,

It goes through walls –

Its network of notes has a structure as if a million suns were arranged inside.

This tune has truth in it.

Where else have you heard a sound like this?”  ~Kabir

Everything is all about music to me, especially these days. I attended a Woman’s drum circle this past weekend. My re-built drum did not accompany me – because the ‘new’ skin broke off literally 2 days after I got it back. Needless to say, I re-lived its first destruction (at least a little bit). This Mercury retrograde has been, by far, my “most retro-grade” Mercury experience to date.

I’m quite the skeptical astrologer – always have been. I aim to check any self-fulfilling prophecies at the doorway of my experience. I want to be sure that I am present to what life is presenting to me – and not just what I want to create/imagine consciously, or unconsciously. I’m sure that the majority of us keep that spirit in our readings. Easier said then done, and quite difficult to explain –but maintaining openness to the reality unfolding naturally, nevertheless is/and has been, my intention.

One of my favorite anime series highlights this aspect of divination that was ‘taught’ to me by a little character named Hitomi and her counterpart, Von. If you want to read more about it. You can here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vision_of_Escaflowne I will say, though, that I think just reading about it won’t take you on the journey. I think you might have to take the journey with the characters in order to understand what I mean.

The series is an excellent lesson about fear, and what it means to overcome fear. It’s also about relationships and pride. Personally, I did not care much for the movie version of Escaflowne at the time when I saw it many years ago. However, the series, upon some years of reflection – has been a teacher to me. In fact, you have to watch it all up to the end to really understand ‘the investment’ involved in the journey – you need to identify with the characters in order to be released of them as you let go of the story at its own, natural end.

~Perhaps we need not be too quick to separate from the past; after all we realize that the past has its own natural time for departure. All we can do, is support the great passage, and the message of Love. As the Spirit moves us…

UPDATE: My drum is done! This time it has a little hook where I can keep my wedding rings 🙂  and a peace sign was added.  Yay!!

A Channel, a Lion, and a Waterbearer

Channel Qi moves

From the Well to the Sea

You and Me

We’ve made it to the place

Where We can really stop

Asking; and just receive.

Aquarius the water bearer

Is an Air sign.

We don’t have air signs in

Traditional Chinese Medicine.

If we stop to ask why,

We may miss some poem.

Coming from the drop

At the top of the well, reflecting,

Or from the Source point.

Even the naming doesn’t matter.

We couldn’t dam it up,

This movement, if we tried.

You and me, from well to the sea…

Drawing the healing constellations on our bodies.

Connecting the points of light in lines of Qi

The lioness has lost her mirror

Given it up to the motion of the moon.

That’s okay, from another perspective,

It’s easier to polish this way.

Let the world hold it outright,

Like a tiny baby in the light of freshly emerging Love; behold.

All the warmth around is

Spilling out of heaven’s hearth.

There’s still music and song

Reflecting in our wayward pools.

The last I heard, God was delighted.

Astrology about personality, with a dash of poem: David Lehman on Alfred Hitchcock

Can you benefit? “Every step we take is Rhythm”

It’s a simple question. The question itself i – when repeated – its own medicine. Who’s responsible for benefiting, perceiving, healing? You.

The truth for me is that I don’t really know in advance whether or not someone can benefit from any of my actions, good intentions, sharing of experiences. From any of my own work on myself. The truth is that I don’t know anything except that I am lucky to be alive and relatively healthy.

Maybe that is all I need to know. Whether in service to ‘self’ or ‘other’ a dualistic mind is still in the trappings of duality. However, if there is no ‘me’ and no ‘you,’ that is perhaps a possible definition of an inefficient brain. Discretion has a purpose, but who’s is worth relying on, other than your own? Ask.

We need to make constructions, make assumptions, think and have reason or else we might lose purpose, direction, and/or develop an inability to operate in the world. But to think and reason too much, gives us this false sense of power. Instead just ask, what is the magic working through us all? (Usually, there’s no definitive answer)

Sometimes lightness of being comes from the must curious places. Sometimes a zen koan can silence your mind instead of eliciting an endless response of ricochet. Sometimes “call and response” signatures can bring forth the most beautiful music.

That’s where I am now. I don’t ask you to benefit from reading this. I write it for me. My drum is nearly ready for the circle.

Aloha.

Please these videos remind me of my time spent in Africa, and my time spent in Pennsylvania…(either drumming, or my one and only ethnomusicology class) and probably further back.

Thanks to youtube: I found this: my favorite from my enthomusicology class back in early 2000ish. This CD was stolen with a couple of precious sterling silver rings when an apartment I had was broken into (twice!) back in Pittsburgh.  You know… I take this, as God’s return of love to me… joy, and the happiness of life! You will be healed!

P.S. So far I am keeping my original ‘typos,’ in some cases, they were appropriately wrong.

Happy Mercury Retrograde from an Aquarius Rising!

Hello Everybody 🙂

Today I am being held up by the Apple store! UPDATE: Problem solved by determination/patience, deduction, and luck!

I need to do all these things to fix my phone – and having the situation of a forced upgrade because the operating system updates are getting too large; and, I have too many pictures on my phone; and, the prong contacts are old and corroded, so my phone is not charging nor transferring files. (resolved).

Having previously worked in the cell phone industry as a “back end” systems, Credit/Order and Operations Specialist, I helped people get through the nasty, long-winded, endlessly riddled struggle of doing simple things: making a purchase. I had to do the equivalent of putting out technological fires, and making small operational miracles out of issues resulting from transitioning and non-communicating systems. My department, of course, was phased out. (good for me because I got the universe’s message, beforehand).

I still do like technology. It is, however, a love/hate relationship; and I quickly learned, not my number #1 thing I wanted to be adept at – or have to do. Somebody’s gotta do it, sometimes. (Done)

Here’s something fun I dug up: old TV shows that influenced my sometimes obvious, other-times-not-obvious, Aquarian persona. They are short clips (the first one – at 27 secs), merely for enticing, if you have the time for this kind of entertainment.

Positive Self-Talk

It’s the beginning of my semester and it’s always a good thing to at least TRY to start everything off on the right ‘note.’ Therefore, I wanted to post about a subject of prime importance to me at this time. It’s one of things that I notice throughout my day – and something I’ve been improving upon.

1). Positive self-talk

How we speak to ourselves is one of the most important things we can be mindful of when we are getting through the day.

When learning something new, creating a new schedule, or simply interfacing with the world in a ‘new’ way, we need to remind ourselves to be kind inwardly. When our inner voice is kind and gentle and compassionate toward our own learning process, we can and will move mountains. One way to become aware of your own self-talk is to learn something new. That is, try something that requires eye/hand coordination in a different way, or something as simple as drawing one line atop another as close as you can, without the ‘new’ line touching the other. This is an action that requires a steady hand and a focused eye. How do you respond when you make a mistake? What happens when you OOPS? Right here is the key: How do you respond? …Do you quit? Do you shout? Do you call yourself a name?

It’s not about moving through life without experiencing disappointments, or setbacks; it’s about TAKING those apparent “setbacks” and leveraging them as a spring-like motion that propels you forward onto your next success. After all, the person most accountable to your sense of success and failure is yourself. You’re the one setting the mark, making the target…(and as I have learned today. YOU ARE THE TARGET.

2). Your target cannot be “other people”

No matter how much we are ONE, we cannot act for others. We are not responsible for other people’s actions/thoughts/behaviors.

When you look really closely (or not), there’s no one to convince. I’ve asked myself why I keep writing this blog. I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything, sell anything, or be ‘the best’ in my field. I really don’t know why I keep writing this blog.

I love you. It’s simple. There are OTHER PEOPLE. This is my favorite part about life! Perceptions are many! Thank you for that! Thank you for your part in my life while I get through my day/hopefully days. I aim to take nothing for granted.

3). Take nothing for granted.

That I “get to breathe” is something I appreciate. That I have eyes to see is something I appreciate. Each moment in time is not to be repeated. If you think back to number one on my list, and you’ve successfully navigated any of your OOPS (big or small, imagined or not), you can be kind to yourself. You may even be relieved by this one: that moments just aren’t repeated. You may even realize that your passing moment of depression is really just a moment – NOT PERMANENT.

4). Self-amusement

In all honesty, it all comes down to this for me: Self-amusement. If cannot laugh at myself – by taking myself lightly – or, if I cannot amuse myself with this AMAZING WORLD that we live in -because there’s plenty to learn and play with – then I am not feeling like I am really living. It’s just that thing for me that keeps my mind happy while my real life is being led by the hand through a number of experiences that keep me growing and developing.

And now for the inspiring stuff:

Science & Non-duality: Mathematics as Hidden Reality

One day, I will attend one of these conferences. For now, I feel privileged to be able to attend via online. We are so fortunate to live in this era – a time when – LOVE & KNOWLEDGE are not separate functions, nor enviable characteristics “out there.”  We can actively pursue our dreams with all these RESOURCES at our fingertips!  What’s not to get excited about?!?!

Special note: I’m thinking of a blogging pal, Debra, over at Ptero Card who posts stimulating subject matter, often writing about Carl Jung, Hillman, the Green Man, Alchemy, and more… Thank you for posting that video in order for me to be able to “have the time” to listen in – and participate in your current enquiries. Here are some of my current ones. I think you’ll find that there’s some overlap in our “venn diagrams”/ circles.  “To Science and Non-duality” 🙂

The Desert Oasis

I’ve been meaning to post some of our photos from our Palm Springs adventure/holiday, but where’s the time?! We have been very busy, and about to get busier! —->The desert is so very, very magical. Ah!  So was this FULL MOON IN CANCER!

PALM SPRINGS

Out in the desert the Fiestaestrella may be easier to identify. The stars shine brighter out there.

… I made this little piece of “found art” from the junk lying around in the desert.  Let’s clean up our HOME – the Earth!  The owl has an ‘angel-playing-the-violin’ for a brain!

Oh my goodness, would you just LOOK at that view!!!

*End in Light* ~ Introducing poetry by Kai Coggin from her new book: Periscope Heart

Dear Friends, Readers, Co-hearts, Star-lovers,

This year I was blessed to be reunited with another poet of the heart & viscera. She is Kai Coggin. From the beginning, when I read her words, it was confirmed for me that Spirit had put me on the path of meeting and connecting with soul family; and she is One. She’s one of those co-hearts that transcends space and time. Our connection was quick in understanding; and roots run deep. She’s given me permission to share with you now one of my first favorite poems from her new book. It’s called, ‘End in Light’ p.99  Thank you, Kai, for sharing the gift of your voice and with all your heart!

⌘  End in Light

A Ghazal

Every footstep on the ancient wise path is worth the fight.
There is no other true purpose in life than to end in light.

Deviation is normal – not every journey starts out right,
but there is an internal compass steering to end in light.

Truth blindness and deaf ears defeat your heart’s flying,
everything is open – the source begins and ends in light.

Your first heartbeat is a star being born in the blackness.
Each beat and breath brings you closer to ending in light.

I have lived through the chaos of becoming illumined,
shedding false skins and shells, screaming to end in light.

This can be a dancing of spirit if your heart can break through,
be the ever virgin song that aches to fulfill the ending in light.

Life is a burning ground, a filling of a chalice that you hold inside.
My dear, fledgling soul – death is not the only way to end in light.

Let go of what you have been forced to believe is your self,
become everything that you know you are, that bends in light

and is not broken, but transforms into prisms and eleven rainbows,
and knows “I AM” becomes everything you are that ends in light.

Peace Crane from Kai

Kai sent me this beautiful peace crane pictured above. She’s an amazing person, author, and educator. She has touched my heart. The edges of the book’s pages are already dog-eared with love.

I’m not alone in celebrating her…

“I first met Kai Coggin as a blazing fire of energy, a supernova educator in the Houston high schools.  Now she is on her light path, teaching through her own poetry.  Her words are spells, chants, prayers, invocations.  Thank you, Kai, for work of the spirit, for illuminations like desert thunder and a night sky of benedictions.

Card of the Day – Joker – Fool

I agree: an appropriate card for the day! Happy New Year to you all!

The Fool12/31 – New Year’s Eve – The Joker / The Fool.

Keywords:
STARTING SOMETHING NEW
BEING SPONTANEOUS
HAVING FAITH
TRUSTING YOUR HEART’S DESIRE

What an appropriate card for today! This card has a strong sense of innocence & adventure to it – completely in line with the optimism of a New Year. It’s all about being open & trusting what is to come. Traditionally, the Joker was the person who took on different roles and entertained the royal court – often doing impersonations of the king or other members of the court. The Joker could be anyone – even showing up in card games as being a ‘wild’ card that could take on the personality or identity of any of the other cards. The Joker/Fool card is about freedom – fresh starts, new beginnings (is the first card in the deck, and separate from all others because it has no…

What is boxing day? Blog Challenge Wrap up 2014

I chose this day, the 26th, for Linda’s Blog Challenge over at Litebeing Chronicles because it’s a day that seems to go under the radar (at least in America), and therefore it’s a day that I wanted to know more about. I also wasn’t sure when I’d sign up and time was running out! Here’s some of what we discovered.

The day after Christmas is known as Boxing Day in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and others. Traditionally, on the day after Christmas people give a box of presents to servants or tradespeople to show appreciation for their year-round hard work.

December 26th is also the Feast of St. Stephen (or St. Stephen’s Day), a holiday during which people traditionally give alms to the poor. This compassion and generosity is celebrated by the Christmas carol “Good King Wenceslas,” which tells a story of Wenceslas I, Duke of Bohemia, bringing firewood and food to a struggling peasant on a cold winter’s night. Here’s the song:

What Boxing Day and St. Stephen’s Day have in common is to focus not on the accrual of material possessions (gifts, toys, candy, or decorations), but rather on sharing kindness with those outside the family and therefore within the greater community. I found it quite interesting to learn about St. Stephen’s Day/Boxing Day.

Here’s the Blog Challenge Q & A:

Which lessons did you learn?

I learned to keep moving forward in 2014. It was also a busy year for me in my personal life. It was full of excitement and a bit of wonderment. It was also my first full year of being in a new city with my husband. As it turned out, there was so much change and newness for the both of us this past year. The newness has helped me to stick to the present moment, taking each day as it comes.

How did you serve others?

My husband recently called me, “the stranger whisperer.” I think he meant it humorously, but he says there’s truth to it. I asked him why, and he says that I connect well with strangers and inspire them. This year I saved a woman from losing her car battery by knocking on the door to her home to let her know her headlights were still on outside. She had these immense birds in her house that were squawking, and she didn’t easily hear the knock at the door. It was difficult to get her to answer, but when she did, she was really grateful about the car. Then on another day, due a strange and specific urge of mine to take the elevator in a deserted parking garage, I saved two men who were trapped in the elevator. Sadly, no one could hear their previous calls for help. Freeing them made me feel lucky! So, that was actually a blessing to me. Grace comes in and helps us to help another.

What blessings did you receive?

Every morning when I wake up, I am grateful that I am alive. I am grateful that I am healthy. Every day, I am grateful that I get the chance to walk around. Having recovered from an injury – I do not take my mobility, nor any ability to conduct my ‘activities of daily living’ (ADLs) for granted!!

Did you receive any “gifts” in terms of powers or skills?

The greatest gift I received was the return of ‘Beginner’s Mind.’ I’ve been meditating for a while now. Every time I get back to ‘Beginner’s Mind,’ I get this sense of living on my edge in a soft and compassionate way – it’s the power of love and genuine receptivity of Spirit. Mmmm

Next up in the blog challenge is Pearlgirl  on December 27th. Nice to meet you at the Blog Challenge 2014!

An Open Space

I saved an empty page

With a title,

Designed for what may come,

Maybe a letter to the divine.

I saved the memory of a smile

Just in case,

I needed some more inspiration

to get up.

There’s always a dream within

A dream, it keeps on going

…burning

I’m unpainting my pictures now,

Washing them in white.

Opening into that knot of flame

That sharpens my 3rd eye.

Yielding to the hot wax of emotion.

As it turns to liquid, dripping

…dripping

This wick of creation is melting and undressing

me from the inside.

You can come to me now

And you can live in me forever.

Healing with the Master’s: Morgana Rae – Deep Work- Expires today!

Hello readers!

This morning one of my many, many emails jumped out at me and said “Read me.” This is the holiday season. When something comes of interest to myself as well as ‘vibes’ and asks me to share with others, I don’t doubt it – even if I have lots of things to do…and this wasn’t originally on my list.

Do you feel loved? I hope so. While sharing this with my close family and friends is good, I find that people beyond my family and friends are benefiting. In fact, all of my life experiences up to this point have been showing me that I need to continuous reach beyond that which is familiar to me. Every job I’ve ever had, I played the role as counselor, confidant, a listener to someone in need.  I KNOW that I am not alone in this. As with anything I post, if this isn’t for you, then move right along and place no emphasis on it. Have a happy and fulfilling day!

Listen to this call, there are people who are trying to fill their piggy banks, people who are laid off, people who are transitioning into their practices and finding clients, etc. What Morgana Rae shares, her processes, are valuable & they are free. Not all of her processes are free – but this one healing for yourself that if you are ready for, you don’t want to miss out on! Money isn’t everything, but relationships ARE.

GET TO IT: http://tinyurl.com/o5lbpuz   The password is ‘healing.’

Get back to the self that feels like you – the one that is abundant and has plenty to give…also, don’t forget to receive.  A gift from the heart is complete when it’s received.

With Love,

Ka Malana
