Numerology #3, #33, #333

I’ve played with numerology somewhat in my life – especially in terms of how it relates to astrology. When you are involved with the esoteric arts, you don’t actually avoid things like numerology.  And, now with the Chinese medical studies, numerology becomes even more important.

I opened up a random page of one of my new books written by a blogging colleague, called “Flying from the Heart,” by Julianne Victoria. It’s a beautiful collection of poems that feel very familiar to me. I opened to a random page, #33 and determined it was my favorite. I think maybe you should check out her book if you are interested in knowing more about her poem there. I don’t want to get involved with any copyright infringement. 😉

The number 33 then started to echo in my mind, like “look me up already.” It was weird because I know I have done this before, but there was something I had missed – so “it” suggested. This is the website I found:

http://seventhlifepath.com/numerology/life-path-number-33/

What I was nudged about then was, “this is your life path number.” I remembered being a “6” but then I thought, well, let me do the math again. So, I did. Sure enough, #33.  So why am I blogging about it?

I’ve got a 7th house Sun – living for other people – making them feel special, well it’s been my “little thing.”  I like to bring joy into other people’s lives, and so when I see this “33” as some master smaster number, I kind of just thought in my head, “whatevs,” this is just ego stuff.

With a 3rd house Chiron, I often felt like I did A LOT of talking, and no one really listened much to me.  Well, things are changing, and I’m changing.  My injury that’s healing has been changing me.  I don’t want to be “preachy.”  It’s like my worst fear on the face of the planet. As the youngest sibling, EVERYONE had something to say that was more correct, or more worthy than me of being ‘heard.’ Don’t worry about my whining, I’m trying to express a point:

Yesterday I went to my acupuncture appointment (for myself), my treatment room was #133. Then, this morning after really connecting with another blogger via email– and seeing so much synchronicity with the astrological 7th house, I searched for a particular article of hers, as I said I would (Italy), didn’t find it but I came up with another article of hers: 333 http://lindalitebeing.wordpress.com/2014/03/16/333-and-more-of-my-favorite-numbers/

Do you think the 3’s are stalking us?

While this physiology does

For mountains that do not require

Mankind’s hands to pile up the earth, nor

The mighty clock of heaven knows that

Greater places exist beyond us, while coming from

Adjusting to a Gluten-Free Diet

So many wonderful tips in here. I especially like your reminders to check for *hidden gluten* and visiting CO-OPs – using them as a resource. Finally, Urban Spoon helps to navigate the restaurant world. You also include a magazine dedicated to food allergies and awareness. Thank you! You’ve given a good reminder about how ultimately FREEING it is to eat without gluten.

kristenann's avatarspice of life blog

There are many guides to help newly diagnosed celiacs and gluten intolerant people but I know when you are first figuring it all out it feels like you are the only person in the world changing your diet and lifestyle. There will most likely be favorite meals you are giving up, familiar restaurants, and things like weekly meet-ups and dinner parties need to be rethought. Things you never had to think about before suddenly need attention, everyday habits, social rituals, and even the chores of shopping and cooking scream for a revamp. It’s a lot, and it can be overwhelming, but hopefully it will help to know that many people have been there, with their miner’s lamps on before you, walking through the dark and leaving notes. First of all, make a list of all the things you can eat. It’s so easy to focus on the food/foods that need…

May 14, 2014 Full Moon in Scorpio: Keywords

Greetings!

The following interpretation is for PDT (San Diego), occurring at 12:16PM. The ascendant for the Full Moon lunation is at Leo 21 degrees, 24 minutes.

Full moon in Scorpio

Intensity, sexuality, partnership, shared resources, TRANSFORMATION

Cardinal Grand Cross: Cardinal signs and placements

Fire, Aries: Uranus conjunct Venus (enlightened, inspired relationship)

Water, Cancer: Jupiter (abundance at home with family, inner nourishment)

Air, Libra: Mars retrograde (internalized drive/urgency for unity, balance, negotiation)

Earth, Capricorn: Pluto retrograde (internalized shadow (Pluto) “face to the world” business/responsibility)

Grand Water Trine

Jupiter in Cancer (see above)

Chiron in Pisces (Collective unconsciousness wounds/healing)

Saturn conjunct Moon in Scorpio (restrictions, what holds us back, responsibilities, authority figures, repressed emotions, stable emotions)

Full Moon Sabian Symbol:

“Crowds coming down the mountain to listen to one inspired man.”

Since the full moon is conjunct Saturn, the teacher, time itself, or “Chronos,” we are experiencing the closure or full-term of a cycle dealing with

Mother (Moon) / Father (Saturn) themes. As well as all of themes above. (as above, so below. as within, so without).

Have a happy day! Wishing everyone the best!

The ‘Slow Down’ on Sun in Taurus: Protecting Personal Space

The moon is in Virgo now (Moon trine Sun) and my attention can easily be turned to the affairs of my daily life. My own personal challenges are stabilizing again and the sunny San Diego sky is shining in my living room. My orchids and Felicia, my special aloe, are happy. One of my friends really enjoys the acronym “ADL.” I suppose, so do I.

Activities of Daily Living are those things that you do that can also be considered ritual. Our ADLs relate to health, what we eat, how we preserve space/energy (Taurus). Some people have very fixed patterns here, and others don’t. There’s really no “good” or “bad” to it – it’s mostly about how well it suits you as an individual, and then, of course within your surroundings (the other people, plants, and animals with whom you are in relationship).

After all, one thing is defined in relationship to another, so I’m talking about all the Earth signs, together.

Taurus-Virgo-Capricorn Triangle

We can build trust/substance/material (Taurus) from our ADLs (Virgo) by some way or method. Here’s another natural trine: the earth elements. It doesn’t matter what the transits are doing, if you can tap into the natural trines for flow, the natural squares for challenge and growth, the oppositions for clarity, and the grand-crosses for ass-kicking-wake-up-a-thons (square-square-square-square) – four 90 degree angles or two lines perpendicular to one another makes ONE beautiful cross.

Finally, to close the triangle part of the discussion, let’s add-in Capricorn – structure. Capricorn represents the “bones,” or the scaffolding of life. If you like to mix metaphors as I do for fun, personal entertainment, and/or experimental reasons.

Walking Meditation – Going slowly

I choose walking meditation to contemplate each step, as my healing (Virgo) takes place. A special ‘Thank you’ to anyone who supported me with kind vibes, thoughts, or left little notes to me wishing me well. The first time around (with the pain), I just dealt with it “all by myself,” preferring to share it with only one or two people. But, as a friend told me yesterday, this is just what we do…as friends. So, thank you for being present with me through any ups and downs. Heres or theres.

Finally, as a result of today’s blog and thought processes, I was able to make the following discovery

http://arxiv.org/pdf/cs/9904004.pdf

It is an interesting paper on mixed metaphors. I’ll need more time reading it – but for now – I’ve got to move on to other ADLs.

Enter the Earth Goddess: From Self to Community and Back Again…Love Circle <3

Seen and Unseen on the Earth Plane & in Cyberspace: Solar Eclipse in Taurus, April 28th

Last week, I spent some time just really reconnecting within myself. I focused on my diet, my schedule, and on my being. This place that I “go to” is a space of creativity, on another plane of existence – although, no one would realize that this is what I’m doing when I shift my consciousness into these states. It’s not for anyone to understand per se. It’s mostly a hidden dance; it requires a level of focus and detachment to present myself in this way to my Self.

Setting up a great amount of space is necessary for dutiful work, and protecting that space is necessary for the being-ness within it. This is the responsible thing to do when engaging with deeply transformative energy.

I bring back with me things, wisdom, or actual objects. Creatures can show up in relationship to movements in consciousness. Sometimes the quality of light is different, or the vibrations emanating from my body are measurably stronger. So, I set up the space (and the time), but what happens within it – is not of my making.

This experience is something that I can commence almost anywhere, but this time, and a lot of the time, I really wanted to be initiate the experience in the woods. I can do it from my couch if I want, but there’s a Spirit request that I’m replying to – and that’s not always easy to put into words for anyone. In fact, it is rarely possible, and I question if it’s necessary. Those who know – know. If you’ve experienced something like this, then you know what I am talking about.

There’s a level of control that seems to improve and become more advanced with time, regardless of conscious effort – there is the existence of unconscious effort. Certainly, conscious effort helps the entire process and programs the unconscious, but one has to be careful not to step beyond the state of receptivity, and get too ‘active’ and try to control the delicate and yet powerful resource that is subtle energy.

The best description for the process of gaining control within the experience of these processes is through the rhythm of dancing in accordance with Essence.

How Magical this is, but it may not seem that way to everyone.

I do notice, however, that artists, writers, musicians, photographers, healers, meditators, and dancers (of course!) often are compelled into these magical states. It seems most natural to experience alternate states from this practice of receptivity. It’s through participating receptively that the subtle consciousness –the subtle body gets involved. Here, we can enter the doorway for using the body to transcend the body.

Since our bodies are fabulous chemical, electrical, magnetic and substantive laboratories, achieving changes in consciousness can begin and even end by manipulating this laboratory. The energy of the planets and the movement of heavens affect our bodies. A run or jog, moments at the gym, or holding your breath under water can affect changes in your consciousness. This is magical, indeed, but the method itself is ordinary.

Ceremony

Nothing is more powerful than ceremony for bringing in shifts to states of consciousness. I’ve participated in Native American medicine wheel ceremonies and in homemade ceremonies. Spirit has called me to conduct small-scale ceremonies or host spiritual energy for the healing of friends and loved ones. I had an amazing ceremony with some wonderful friends before I left for Kauai in 2011, and was able to bring many gifts there to the island as a result of our gathering beforehand. I left offerings in Kauai at a sacred location on behalf of those who participated, and to the waters in a separate ceremony that I was called to do by myself.

I’m really looking forward to seeing others from ‘my tribe’ this weekend when I visit.

New energies and bonds are forming now, as precious new energies enter the landscape. From a distance I can see how I’ve connected people together just by being a common friend, or thread.

Friendship

There’s a saying that I liked for some time now:

“It takes a long time to grow an old friend,” by John Leonard.

While I’ve felt blessed in my life with a multitude of fast and yet deeply profound acquaintanceships, and have had so many magical and interesting exchanges with strangers (this is my specialty – with an Aquarius South Node and Aquarius rising), something’s been missing.

What’s been missing are the slow movements of Taurus, the plodding and tireless stubborn commitment of Taurus – the time it takes for me to trust, find words, exchange words, and just be in the group or focused on friendship.

Receptivity to the present moment is a gift that means you don’t look to see who is around you for you. You look just to look. However, sometimes, this looking can distract you from Self. So this is the beautiful process of distraction and re-attraction to Self, Spirit, whatever is Source for you.

Just look at the other arms of the fixed cross: the rich intimacy in Scorpio needs the complementary slow and consistent pace of Taurus. I like Taurus. It’s where Chiron was positioned at my birth. Chiron squares my nodes. I pay attention to this, and let myself be wounded by moving too fast; then, I slow down again.

Remembering my cancer moon is sensitive to space and is very nurturing, and doesn’t like it when things get too rowdy. My 9th house Uranus (my Ascendant ruler) is into Jupiter-type stuff, and has become quite optimistic about it all. Right now, Jupiter is in tight conjunction with my natal moon – personal planet on a Grand Cross show down. WELCOME! ♥ If you’ve made it here, and you are still reading, I love you already!! We all want to be heard!  It just feels good!

Community

Recently, I received a kind mention and an invitation from one of my blogging friends, Linda Lite Being; and, I’m super touched~ Normally, I wouldn’t participate in this kind of thing just because [insert legitimate excuse], but this one is unique because it’s about GODDESSES and SISTERHOOD! Also, I will be posting about a number of blogs that I enjoy reading, and people (women writers) who have captured my interest and attention.

What Linda wrote on her own blog regarding Goddesses is so perfect, something I could have written about myself (but I didn’t have to, Linda did – and flawlessly) Linda’s words, not mine:

…“Spent many years regarding more of my male friends as true like-minded companions. It was most often in those alliances that I found people who loved to discuss complex ideas, go on wild adventures, and treat me with respect, loyalty, and affection. They knew the real me and had my back, like a fun yet protective older brother. I noticed much more competition and superficiality among my female peers. It seemed that true sisterhood was a rare treasure among plastic imitations. Let’s call them the Earth Goddesses.  It was later in life that I was able to find more of those qualities in the women I met. As you know, anything of true value is worth waiting for. With my sisterhood, this is also the case.”…

Visit her blog here: http://lindalitebeing.wordpress.com/2014/04/20/for-goddesses-everywhere/

Linda, Thank you for inspiring me into blogging sisterhood, and for nominating me for this award. I’m sending you an energetic embrace aka HUGE HUG. While I’ve been going inward, and focusing on my beingness, making the most of April’s influx of energy… I was visited by a dragonfly who was kind enough to pose for me in this image of integration. Even though I do not have a telephoto lens, and I just took this with my camera phone, it’s a decent image. It’s easy to see it clearly!

I Believe in Bravery: Astrology for April 2014

This month’s Lunar Eclipse will occur on April 15, 2014. In California, it will happen at 12:42am. The month is filled with challenges and opportunities, and the feminine energy returns.

Challenges & Opportunities

This month we have a lot of “heavy duty” transits. The Grand Cross pattern that the heavens have been cultivating is known to bring challenging experiences. These experiences, however, can be very constructive.  Often, they ARE constructive, but we don’t realize that until the pressure is turned down, way down. The Grand Cross is simply a pressure valve, and it can be expressed in many different ways, each unique to one’s own chart and behavior pattern. We can even see this pressure valve trying to release itself in the land with the earthquakes in Chile.

Any challenge has the potential to bring out the best of those working toward a goal by transforming challenges into opportunities. The Grand Cross pattern provides an opportunity for maintaining one’s focus, and specifically in a Cardinal Grand Cross, using that focus as a trajectory.

Unfortunately, the Grand Cross pattern/configuration does not lend itself really well to teamwork. The energy is so very centralized, and it’s a good idea to watch any area of your life where you may be overdoing it, or any area that is demanding too much of your time where your energies are too scattered. You want to make the best of the energies that are supporting you!

Feminine Return

This Lunar Eclipse in Libra certainly calls for some peace and some grace. It’s best to take your time when you can; the pace of interaction can be swift and jarring for those who are sensitive.

Now is the time to find/create the quiet, safe place within yourself; or, it can be any place you designate. Let the receptive, feminine energy (also known as the yin shadow) ‘cool down’ some of the fiery masculine energy of Aries, the yang excitement. In other words, find the Libran balance, the fulcrum point, and rest in stillness for a while.

Both of the eclipses this month call upon the Goddess energy, the White Tara of Compassion. The Lunar Eclipse on April 15th  is in Libra, a masculine sign ruled by a feminine planet; and, the Solar Eclipse is in the feminine sign of Taurus, on April 28.

Finally, the most satisfying and pleasant feature of this month’s planetary configuration is the grand trine of Saturn, Jupiter, and Chiron. Venus (ruler of Libra) will be transiting conjunct Chiron (applying aspect), and by month’s end, Venus will be forming a harmonious trine with Saturn. Venus rules both Libra and Taurus, making Venus a prime motif for us all month.

Personal note: I shall be taking a break from my blog writing/sharing for most of the month, and will be focusing on my clients, my schoolwork, and travel.  We live in exciting times, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to share so much through the blog-space!

May Peace Be With You,

Ka Malana

Whisper of Whispers

To my beloved:

The Wind of seasons,

And the season of winds carry

Whispers between

The leaves shake with titillation.

I see the Sufis, and They-see

How Mother Nature’s curves

Are made of both

Light and dark essences,

Surrounding a

Punctuated Center.

The experience of watching them swirl and

Transform,

so fast it can be dizzying

And delighting all at once,

But, no matter.

The center is the point of

All things.Whose origin is seamless.

So vast that wind cannot penetrate it.

The beloveds are at home

Saturated in the

Nectar of primordial Authenticity.

Enveloped as the whisper of whispers,

The entirety of near-silence,

The edge of All Beginnings.

New Moon in Aries: The action within the movement

Image

A couple of blogs ago I wrote about Mars and initiation. I’m not sure if it will become a series or not, but it’s definitely a theme in action. Now, as I look at the New Moon, it’s filled to the brim with Aries/Mars energy!

First, the New Moon is sandwiched between the Sun (definition of New Moon in astrology is Sun/Moon conjunction) and Uranus in the Mars-ruled sign of Aries. Second, the New Moon opposes retrograde Mars in Libra (Aries counterpart).

Mars in Libra conjuncts the N.Node of the Moon, and is opposite the New Moon. The node is the point where the moon’s path crosses the ecliptic, and it indicates the evolutionary direction—in evolutionary astrology. The North node is the future trajectory, while the South Node describes the evolutionary past of the soul. With the Mars in Libra conjunction to the transiting N. Node, we are sent right back to Venus (Libra-ruled) to connect the dots.

Venus and Mars are the dance partners in this show of planetary design. The themes of right/left, male/female, passive/active, etc. The main theme is initiation. Ask yourself how you have started relationships (Venus) in the past (S. Node in Aries). Transiting Venus in Aquarius will help you to be more objective about what you see when you look. It will help you to keep a reasonable distance to examine your relationships with a “cool” mind.

Venus and Mars are in sextile to each other during this New Moon, showing that masculine and feminine energies unite in relative balance, with a tad bit of work.

Nevertheless, the new moon brings us right into the larger pattern of Pluto square Uranus, since Uranus is conjunct the New Moon, while squaring Pluto and Jupiter. You know, the biggie that everyone is talking about? Seven exact aspects spanning 2012-2015, transforming everything… What’s Jupiter’s role in this?

The Jupiter and Pluto opposition is asking us, “what’s possible?” and likewise, “what is impossible?” This is your chance to expand (Jupiter) your home (Cancer). Also, you can transform (Pluto) the structure (Capricorn) of your work, your business.

The presence of Saturn (in mutual reception with Pluto) still calls for restraint, and boundaries. Why? Because, we are still working out the negotiations (Libra), and involved in deep processes of self-(re)discovery (Uranus), for something that will be fairly long-lasting (Saturn).

When we have such intense aspects within the Aries/Libra archetypes, we want balance but not the stagnation that comes with perfect balance. I’m sure those very Virgo-identified are wondering why perfection has been “taken off the table” for such a long time. In other words, why are we working so hard?!  Well, Capricorn wants results, measurable and substantiated results – and Pluto carries the wreaking ball of transformation, er… the hidden key.

When Pluto is in an Earth sign, all the Earth signs are affected, since they form a natural trine.  Re-forming the Earth is happening: that means how we serve others, our work (Virgo), and our values (Taurus) are moving with Pluto in Capricorn. They are like the arms that have to move with the body. Remember, we need a body to drive the chariot – to light the kingdom of heaven on Earth.

Happy New Moon!

Vernal Equinox, Part II: A Profound Start

Image

Title Unknown. Painted by Andrew Salgado

As the Sun enters Aries 0.00, it trines retrograde Saturn in Scorpio. Some conventional astrology will have us working on our experience with father and fatherhood. Other Saturn-style manifestations could be teachers, people in positions of authority with the ability to guide or restrict our movements.

All this Vernal Equinox energy of initiation in Aries-ruled Mars can find anchoring in the Saturn/Moon conjunction in Scorpio. Saturn stabilizes (stills), Moon emotes (moves), and the trine to the fiery Martian Sun pierces the veil of shallowness. In Scorpio, we dive deeply into experiences, and dwell for as long as necessary to bring about transformation (Scorpio).

Do we dedicate (Saturn) ourselves to such a task? Do we have the support and leadership?

The joining of Fire and Water can heat up the water, or make it boil over. The choice is always yours in this version of astrology. I think that’s a good platform for an Aries beginning. Grow in the direction you want, and find the supports/structure (Saturn) to help you, expect your experiences to be deep (Scorpio) and long lasting (Saturn).

This new energy is exciting, and… we can sense how it’s deeper than we may have originally saw or thought.

Vernal Equinox – PDT , March 20, Thursday, 9:59 AM – Part I

Image

Happy Spring & New Growth!  (Part I is Analytical) (Part II is Energy-Specific)

Before we tap into the energy signature for the vernal equinox and explore its timbre (Part II), let’s first review precession of the equinoxes (Part I). The timing of the vernal equinox is when our Sun crosses the celestial equator and travels north. See the image below where the point of the vernal equinox is labeled.

ImageTraditionally, the timing of the vernal equinox is at the moment when the Sun enters 0.00 Aries.  This indicates the changes of the seasons and the equal timing for day and night. However, Tropical/Western zodiac does not match with the sidereal or Vedic zodiac, where the vernal equinox point is now in Pisces. The reason for this is due to the precession of the equinox – a period of 26,000 years – due to the Earth’s wobble on its axis.

Image

As a consequence of precession of the equinox, the pole star (a star that does not rise or set, such as the North star) changes, as does the earth’s orientation, to the viewing of circumpolar stars. In other words, we will see different circumpolar stars throughout time. Our current North Star, Polaris, points to the direction of the North Pole, but this was not always the case. Thuban, in the constellation of Draco, was once the North Star, ~3942 BC to ~1800 BC.  Due to the precession of the equinoxes, Thuban will become the North Star again ~21,000 AD.

Image So, the *actual* constellation – Aries – does not match up in the sky at the same point at the vernal equinox, if you were to go outside and look. You may wonder why we still use the Aries point to indicate the beginning of spring in the western zodiac, and this will be a good question. There’s no one final conclusive answer on that one. A mathematical construct has meaning within the context from which it is derived.

In accord with antiquity, mathematical constructions have served the purpose of drawing meaning between observations and recording events from the past into the future. There is practical application for both methods of astrology, using either the Vedic or Western Zodiac, just be mindful to be consistent within each system. Symbolic meaning of points are only relevant so long as they are observed to be relevant and descriptive of actual occurrences. It makes no difference whether or not you call midnight “midnight” as long your labeling is consistent within your system. Often times, I see people trying to merge the Western zodiac signs with the Westernized version of the Vedic signs, and, in my personal opinion, meaning is lost this way.

Finally, why do we put the Earth in the center of our astrological charts? The reason is that this is the point of our observation. We live on Earth. Earth is from where we look at the sky. Astrology is the art of subjectivity as well as a quest for objectivity in the sense that it is realistically melding the subjective and objective viewpoints together for interpretation. The apparent objectivity of the outer spheres is still only apparent, based on the perspective of from where one is looking. Such is the basis of all astronomical measurement to the exclusion of satellites and other orbiting, recording devices. Regardless, for all practical purposes, we are still pretty much Earth-based. Relax, you’re not meant to understand everything all at once!

Here is a link to figure out the precise timing for this event for the area where you live.  Click on the link. Then click on, “Local times for March Equinox 2014 worldwide.” There is a caveat, however. The software I used to drawn up the chart for the vernal equinox shows Aries at 0.00 at 9:59a, not 9:57a as the website indicated for the timing of the vernal equinox. Please be mindful of that when you draw up your charts. Stay tuned for Part II of the Vernal Equinox.
