The ‘Slow Down’ on Sun in Taurus: Protecting Personal Space

The moon is in Virgo now (Moon trine Sun) and my attention can easily be turned to the affairs of my daily life. My own personal challenges are stabilizing again and the sunny San Diego sky is shining in my living room. My orchids and Felicia, my special aloe, are happy. One of my friends really enjoys the acronym “ADL.” I suppose, so do I.

Activities of Daily Living are those things that you do that can also be considered ritual. Our ADLs relate to health, what we eat, how we preserve space/energy (Taurus). Some people have very fixed patterns here, and others don’t. There’s really no “good” or “bad” to it – it’s mostly about how well it suits you as an individual, and then, of course within your surroundings (the other people, plants, and animals with whom you are in relationship).

After all, one thing is defined in relationship to another, so I’m talking about all the Earth signs, together.

Taurus-Virgo-Capricorn Triangle

We can build trust/substance/material (Taurus) from our ADLs (Virgo) by some way or method. Here’s another natural trine: the earth elements. It doesn’t matter what the transits are doing, if you can tap into the natural trines for flow, the natural squares for challenge and growth, the oppositions for clarity, and the grand-crosses for ass-kicking-wake-up-a-thons (square-square-square-square) – four 90 degree angles or two lines perpendicular to one another makes ONE beautiful cross.

Finally, to close the triangle part of the discussion, let’s add-in Capricorn – structure. Capricorn represents the “bones,” or the scaffolding of life. If you like to mix metaphors as I do for fun, personal entertainment, and/or experimental reasons.

Walking Meditation – Going slowly

I choose walking meditation to contemplate each step, as my healing (Virgo) takes place. A special ‘Thank you’ to anyone who supported me with kind vibes, thoughts, or left little notes to me wishing me well. The first time around (with the pain), I just dealt with it “all by myself,” preferring to share it with only one or two people. But, as a friend told me yesterday, this is just what we do…as friends. So, thank you for being present with me through any ups and downs. Heres or theres.

Finally, as a result of today’s blog and thought processes, I was able to make the following discovery

http://arxiv.org/pdf/cs/9904004.pdf

It is an interesting paper on mixed metaphors. I’ll need more time reading it – but for now – I’ve got to move on to other ADLs.

  1. Great post and something I needed to see. I’m really pleased you are sharing your ‘journey’ since it seems/feels so similar at times to mine. ☺ Being a good Taurus girl, who needs/wants to learn more about the effect of the heavens on our daily lives, I really enjoy your posts. Many thanks E ☺
    Blessings. Susan❤

    1. Thank you Susan for reading my blog, and I’m so glad that you are ‘receiving’ something from it.

Isn’t it amazing how we can relate in the way that we do?

I think I discovered your blog because you have a ‘catchy’ title. By that I mean, I resonate with owls and orchids 🙂 Who knew? that we would share… ‘what’ we share?

I’ve been writing more about my journey at
http://www.tiredofgluten.wordpress.com. I don’t update daily yet, but we shall see what kind of life it takes on. You might be interested in checking it out. As you probably know with your own health: there are good days and then days not as good. Ultimately, we want to recover *fully.*

The heavens are just as amazing as the stuffs within us. I have found astrology to be my most trustworthy ‘guide’ since I was a teenager (and a little bit before that). It has helped me give shape/form (Taurus) to my experiences – which, ultimately, has made everything easier.

Also, astrology helped me to see how things that happen within me – are actually related to what happens outside of me, too. I am grateful to astrology for my own survival (psychological, philosophical, intellectual,….and now, increasingly, my physical wholeness). My own physical challenges have only really “showed up” 2 years ago, along with a host of amazing and wonderful life developments. Maybe somethings are there all along, and on the continuum of healing, we just get more aware of more to do. (hahaha…I know you understand that one along with me – laughing about it).

Interestingly the asteroid Chiron was in Taurus during my birth. Today, the Sun is conjunct (right next to) that natal position – in this case – it is *exact* or, the same degree as my natal Chiron. So, it’s this sentence: “Transiting Sun conjunct natal Chiron.”

Chiron is called, “the wounded-healer.” Chiron was located in my 3rd house at birth. Result: the value (Taurus) of “my voice” (3rd house of communication) was wounded (Chiron), and I try to heal it through writing, communication, and using my “local mind” (3rd house).

Within that “skeleton” of astrological “grammar” I can use the mutable nature of things (Virgo) to heal the fixed issues of (Taurus).

There’s a saying, “healer heal thyself.” Then, there’s the wounded-healer (Chiron) who keeps aiming to heal thyself while always being mortal. However, this centaur has the capacity for great wisdom, compassionate-understanding through *true* suffering, and according to Greek mythology, medical talent. The word “Chiro,” I believe, means hands.

I just received this, “All things become evident through time and test.” Who knows what that means?

Astrology is a beautiful, wonderful way to understand and test information – in my experience.

Blessings, and many thanks Susan for ‘receiving’ what I have to share and teach and just *communicate* through my writing – and for making me feel valuable by letting me know that you have received by gift.

      Love, Ka

  2. oh, what a blessing you are. I love these postings. I have many ADL’s and they are so important to me. On a personal note, I must tell you – I love that you take the time to write out the astrology. It is very important to me, but I have never taken the time to learn it all. thanks to those of you who have!

    1. Kimberly,

You are also such a blessing! I love how you share what you’ve learned through your own blog – your artwork – it’s unified and beautiful.

You inspire me to pick up my sketch pad, but mostly to paint from within.

Thank you for visiting, reading, and letting me know that you’ve been touched in some way.

      _/1\_ Namaste

Please drop me a petal and let me know that you visited :)
