Gemini New Moon, May 28th PDT, 11:40am

Hello Dear Readers,

I’m looking at the chart for the New Moon in Gemini, PDT, San Diego, at 11:40am. Sun conjunct Moon at 7-8 degrees Gemini trine to Mars. Assertive energies are to be balanced, and with the trine are shown to flow quite easily around the New Moon.

We are asked to initiate from our deepest inspirations, and consider what kind of inventions (Uranus) and unique inspirations (Uranus in Aries) can we create and share to assist humanity. What structures can we create to help build bridges across the debris left in Pluto’s transit?

Retrograde Pluto is part of a kite formation (a triangle of 3 points with an extra point formed by two sextiles or 60 degree angles to a 4th point, in this case, Pluto is sitting on that 4th point). Pluto is sextile to Chiron and Saturn, asking for a little bit of harmonious work in terms of healing and stabilizing some of those soul wounds. Meanwhile, Saturn in Scorpio forms a grand trine with Chiron in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer – a continued reminder to keep sorting through those skeletons in your closet – there are many layers of shadow – including shadow puppets!

There’s no doubt to me that our greatest abundance of wound healing is taking place within the imprint of our families of the past (Jupiter in Cancer), and the history of our pain recorded in the water of our bodies. New moon square Neptune is further evidence to me of our on-going need to heal in our relationship to the spirit in water, our loss of faith and disillusionment with the world of form that holds the water.

The healing thought for this lunation is seeing a chasm in our lives (the abyss), and building a bridge over it in some practical way. Experience that the onward movement of Mars is initiation, and just keep going. You CAN find the bravery to continue crossing the chasm into unknown territory, and you will find the previously unexplored landscapes within.

Also, practicing bridge-building is evident to me in the completion/beginning of Venus’s visit at the last degree of Aries 29 – in this New Moon chart. Therefore, Venus has reached a completion point in Aries, and shall begin at Taurus 1. Venus and the North Node in Libra continue to guide us on our illuminated journeys, while lighting the way.

Interestingly Venus is sextile to Mercury, also finishing up a completion point in Gemini at 29 degrees – while forming an applying square aspect to Mars. Mercury is a little bit busy in the dream world, but with its trine to Neptune, it’s certainly doing its work in blurring boundaries, and bringing spiritual nuance to communications and miscommunications – all of it is part of the bridge-crossing.

  1. Love this!!! especially part about pain recorded in the water of our bodies!!! I was just working on this in a healing session today 🙂 I really enjoy these postings ( I know I tell you that all the time 🙂 )

  2. very well done! This new moon is near my IC and square my Pluto so emotions are very heightened. I loved the imagery in your narrative, perfect for the Neptune/Chiron in Pisces and complete grand water trine!

    xx Linda

    1. Thank you, Linda, for your reply to my post & your encouragement. When I started this blog, I did it mostly for myself – so that I would consistently write about the moon, and make it my practice. Having my natal Moon in Cancer and my natal Sun in Leo (both in their rulership signs), I saw blog writing as an opportunity to take my meditative practice and blend it with my practice of astrology, also, to focus specifically on the Sun & Moon relationship. (planetary picture in my chart is “sun/moon = mercury”)

The new moon transits my 4th house (so cool that this new moon is at your IC)! Apparently, the whole year of 2012 was my hiatus from writing. It was also a time where ‘home’ wasn’t settled. I was swimming in change, and didn’t make it to my blog. With my moon’s placement in Cancer, home is even more important to my well-being. Looks like we’ve both got the Gemini/4th house thing. Gemini Moon? I wonder how this is translating for you. Feeling at home when writing? Is it easier to write when you feel “at home”? I know for me, it is! xoxo So much love. Ka

      1. Wow, I learned so much about you and am very pleased to know you a bit better.Would like to see your chart some time. Yes I have a Gemini moon which is in the 4th near 5th house cusp, but I don’t relate to moon in 5th or a Leoish moon as I am so about dreams and psychic stuff ( so 4th house). Perhaps I don’t want to own more of my Queen status ( my ruler is in Leo and I have a Leo descendant after all!)
For me it is that I need,in a primal way,to communicate and writing is one of the most natural ways as well as counseling, healing, and art. For me writing and reading are in my blood.
I really appreciate women with moon in cancer. I think it is a great asset. I have mars in Cancer and it does not usually serve my best interests 🙂

I am feeling a tremendous synergy between you , Amanda, and myself and it is so wonderful. The friends I have made here in such a short time are like rare jewels that were glittering quietly waiting for me in the distance..

Anyway I am rambling so let’s just say that I need to draw a card for the lunation and have some awesome dreams tonite.

        much love,
        Linda

Your blog rocks and I hope it will continue to serve you in limitless ways.

        xx Linda

      2. Thanks Linda. The fun part about astrology is that each person gets to ‘relate’ to each one of the signs, in unique ways – like trying on hats. I’m an archetypal and evolutionary astrologer. I also sometimes take the esoteric interpretations rather than the predictive. I would say that having your chart’s ruler in 7th house, in Leo, gives you some Leo sparkle and glam, yourself. Wear it with joy. Leo is a dynamic figure, more than meets the “lion’s eye,”and really just wants to have fun and be playful.

Our synastry is probably a very interesting chart – and I’d like to see that. In addition to seeing your chart, too. I bet a composite chart would be fun to look at, too. I think it would tell us about how we can best synergize. We can hopefully get to it. In the meantime, Happy Blogging! And, a toast to us both for finding each other and for meeting and resonating with more folks along the way!

        Best ❤
        Ka

  3. The element of water is my favorite and I luv working with it and through it. I luv its transparency and cleansing qualities. Thanks for illuminating our ways with your readings ❤ xox
