Astrology for April, May and beyond

Hello my lovely friends:

If you’ve been in the flow lately; you know there have been big changes with the shift of Pluto from Capricorn to Aquarius. This is a decades long transit. It takes several months for Pluto to get settled into Aquarius, so Pluto is temporarily in Aquarius at 0 degree, for now. This June, Pluto will return back to Capricorn until January 20,2024. Then be in Aquarius to September 1, 2024 before returning to Capricorn. Finally, from November 19, 2024, and after, Pluto will be settled in Aquarius until March 8, 2043.

As you can see. It’s not an “overnight” transit. In fact, no transits really are. There are some aspects that last a day or two in astrology and those are shorter lived events. Also the moon is void of course often for only part of a day. The moon changes signs approximately every 2.5 days, so those astrological influences are constantly changing. This is a lot like weather. In fact, I think astrology is basically like forecasting weather: looking at trends vs. certainties. Finally, if self-determination is your thing, I would definitely agree with you that self-determination takes priority over the influences of the cosmic weather. I do believe we are each responsible for making and co-creating our own reality. I favor the idea of co-creation, since I think we are always partnered with the universe and nature when we are crafting the trajectory of our lives.

It’s nice to take note of what is taking place from an astrological/astronomical perspective.

April & May Events

  • 19/20 Solar eclipse at 29 Aries (the unusual second “new moon” in Aries)
  • April 21 – Mercury retrograde in Taurus at 15 degrees
  • May 1 — Pluto goes retrograde at 0 Aquarius
  • May 5– Lunar eclipse at 15 degree Scorpio
  • May 14– Mercury stations direct at 6 degree Taurus
  • May 16– Jupiter ingress Taurus

As you can see the above trends are changes taking place in the fixed signs. This can be ground-breaking in getting us out of our ruts and creating avenues of movement in our lives where we weren’t able to previously budge. The fixed cross of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio is being activated. Areas in need of renewal are around values and shared resources (Taurus and Scorpio) and self and community (Leo and Aquarius).

What themes have you noticed are activated for you right now? Have you found that some of your systems are getting changed or switched? Does the structure of your life look like it’s changing? If you saw yourself on a bridge and crossing it to the other side, what do you think you would visit on the other side? Look at these images below and comment on anything that arises. Are you alone or following someone else? Are you in a city or in a remote location?

Being observed — Ka Malana Photography 2023

Being observed while I had just wrapped up my lunch at the incredibly informative and mind-blowing conference of PSOAS—Pacific Sports and Orthopedic Acupuncture Symposium.

This sweet charmer was wiggling his or her nose at me and had the most pleasant while curious energy. This felt like the most natural encounter—clearly the little one does this a lot to other conference goers, although I was the only one around. But the dexterity and skill of the sneak-up, pop-up was unprecedented by others of its kind. This is career squirrel 🐿️

Flexible, quick-witted, and nutty… 🙂

Gotta love this animal medicine that impresses me while I’m being wowed in so many other ways, reminding me to be light-hearted, fun, and never miss an opportunity to say “hello there” 👋

Turn of Season

The beautiful card I got today is Kuan Yin! What did you get when you click to stop the video?

This season, this month, is bringing major changes and openings for all of us. The astrology is thick with sign changes: Sun going into Aries, Venus moving into Taurus, and Pluto will be moving into Aquarius. Saturn just shifted into Pisces. Please share! What are you feeling. How are you experiencing this new energy moving through your lives?

The Vernal equinox comes with unique bird song and green shoots and tendrils erupting from the earth. The earth here is moist and ready for worms and motion. The birds have found more baths due to the recent rain. I reflected back on my poetry book project for this year. I look forward to collating more and writing more. The inspiration I’m arising with is like velvet, soft like bunny’s fur, also gossamer linkages of quickly growing energetic networks of inner mycelium. My own ecosystem matches that of the Earth and the Cosmos. I’m flying through the dimension of space, but traveling easy, calming, with deep breath and purpose. I have a couple of links I want to share down below.

Pick you Goddess ❤ Click on the picture to stop it.

Bumble bees have been shown to unlock a puzzle box when one of the bees on the “bee team” is instructed on how to do it. These educated bees transfer their knowledge to the other bees in their group, showing social collaboration and the transmission of learning from one bee to another. Read more about it here.

I’ve been learning a bit more about the 5th dimension. It’s slightly elusive to me although I might actually be aware of my living out of it, from it–on it? Here is a really neat scientific article about how the future can influence the past. After all, I use this skill in my daily work all the time. More and more evidence points to the realness of my work as I practice what I call the pragmatics of shamanism, journeying, and other soul work that works through multiple dimensions. Many people don’t actually realize that heaps and heaps of scientific articles that show that acupuncture works, let alone shamanistic style healing work. Here’s an interesting article (albeit a small cohort in the study) where TMD was improved through shamanic healing, and those improvements persisted past 9 months after (which was the conclusion of the study’s measure–and doesn’t necessarily mean the improvements didn’t persist further afterward).

I could write more and more on all of this. I suppose I will. 🙂

Happy Easter/Ostara/St. Patrick’s day and all the holidays! Happy Spring!

November 17, 2013, Taurus Full Moon, Relationships, Art — Fiesta Estrellas

This is another earlier blog post of my mine. I reached into my archives where I wrote about astrology; this was before I branched out and wrote poetry, and shared my art, and got more social about my life and my journey. I published a book since I was blogged, yay! I like to blog about ALL THE THINGS! New material is coming in 2023–but right now, this is my blog celebration. I teamed up with Cheer Peppers because I wanted to blog for the whole month with a team. I like to share space with people and I’m so glad that you have decided to read my writing, and truly: I am glad you decided to be part of my world. You matter, and I appreciate you!!! ❤ Please enjoy! Another busy back-to-back day today 🙂 I’ll be around to visit you again very soon!

A little bonus today that I’m excited about is that I linked all my Taurus posts to celebrate this Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus we are currently experiencing.

This first one below—> This was my life-changing Kauai experience when I got my spiritual name Ka Malana. It was a short post. I was very busy experiencing it all. I remember the most beautiful New Moon in Taurus ceremony on the beach… just amazing. The order of the blog posts is from oldest to most recent.

This one I didn’t even get to re-read, but I’m in need of re-reading it, *and* slowing down. Whatever that means! Felicia, our aloe, passed away when we moved South to San Diego…. Felicia never recovered. 😦
Lost the photo on this one that was originally linked. This is the down-side of using the internet to store our memories…
You can really see here where I started to write poetry (in place of astrology?) in addition to astrology 🙂
Click this for the photo–I also have blogged “some” of my photography in the past. Long time readers of this blog will remember my photography periods. I’m not sure why this link isn’t showing a preview picture of my post.
This one isn’t about the moon in Taurus. It’s Sun Conjunct Uranus in Taurus.

I hope you are enjoying this celebration!!

Participating and playing vs. Observing quietly

DSCN0217.jpg

DSCN0180.jpgDSCN0197.jpgDSCN0250.jpgDSCN0170.jpgDSCN0272.jpg

My title is a spin on my natal nodes and the current transiting nodes (at this point I’m looking forward to the Cancer N./Capricorn S. nodal transit).

The images above show the blur of engagement and activity, while the reflective, observant images are clear and crisp.

Having my 2nd nodal return in the  set of approx. 18 year cycles, it reminds me – again – of the “ping pong” and “intense” nature of the opposition (180Degrees) aspect generally, and then how the one in my natal chart Sun – Leo/ opposite Ascendant – Aquarius, gets emphasized, with nodes like this. Certainly this form/body cannot be everywhere and doing everything – so observing one thing at a time, has been the respite, saving-grace! Staying out of drama, hype, comparison… I’ve completely been scaling back my social media to its virtual non-existence. Not saying that it is permanent, but I am not eager to return to social media anytime soon. Self/Other was never a dichotomy for me, but boundaries are a necessity.

But this blog is a unique form of social media – it’s reflective and meaningful. It’s second only to reading books – which is what I try to do in my non-existent “free time.” I’ve only barely completed a few books, while I have consumed multiple tv show series, no doubt – just anything to be a little bit easier. I enjoy reading a book, far more, since social media.

These photographs that I’ve taken and shown here are several months old now, and as I continue to work on my photography skills, appreciating my subjects, more recently I’ve not had much energy to return to my blog to feature these marvelous faces, nor to embrace my writing publicly and with others, nor to discuss the ‘here and now.’ Part of that reason, is that I, have been on vacation after a *very busy and eventful trimester working with others and on myself* and maybe, I will return, from that vacation/ spiritual “retreat” – ‘one day’ in blog world, but I’ll start to return to the day-to-day offline world, first, and I have.

I feel deeply connected, so I’m not worried. So many pujas later…and time spent in the woods of the great green earth…

A lot has been simmering for me, and while it may seem like I am not experiencing a dynamic time here via Fiestaestrellas.com – if you are aware of some of the current transits – Western astrological version…

  • Mercury station direct and all the airplane news &
  • New Moon on April 15th at  26 Aries
  • Saturn SR on April 17th
  • Chiron ingress Aries
  • Sun ingress Taurus, form, matter
  • Pluto SR on April 22
  • Venus ingress Gemini
  • Mercury Square Saturn
  • Mars/Pluto Conjunction
  • Full Moon on April 29 at 10 Scorpio

…. you’d know that I’m undergoing quite a bit of transformation, and that process looks different all the time. It shifts quickly to and fro, and while the ‘3D’ appears to be fluctuating, the eternal experiencing is ever-present, calm, enjoying the show, and embracing all the moments. I remain ‘undecided’ about most things and am mostly enjoying that ride, despite certain times of definite and specific discomfort, which fortunately leaves quickly. I am cultivating what Napolean Hill has coined, “a definite and specific purpose.”

There’s a lot of energy in the collective field.

I’ll be taking, potentially more time away from blogging, and dedicating myself more to my day-to-day offline activities, but I do hope to resurface here and there from time to time with greater purpose, and with more clarity at some sort of ‘one-day’ stabilizing point. I eagerly await Uranus’s move into Taurus, and as I pull into my center… I enjoy uncovering more from my core. In my Ascendant chart, Uranus will be linking to my 3rd house of neighbors, siblings, and closer networking – opening up the mind – which it has begun to do! With my ascendant ruler in Scorpio and all my Cancer planets – you might imagine: I like my privacy, and my transformational cave.

Thank you to all who have been a part of this blog, and who continue to be the celebrating shining lights of sparkle and joy in this world, bringing passion and compassion into your every-day, and in the blog world where I can see you. I look forward to providing another update or two before I take another dive into the deep…

Aloha, Ka

For those who have actually read this blog post in its entirety, I am so grateful that YOU are here. Most of my blog posts are very short and don’t require a lot of time and attention, but that may change in the future. In this post, I am rambling, but right now… it’s enough to pass.

Taurus moon burst, touching, new

i returned home to my roses bursting –
opened by more than mere grace
an abundance of nature, holding space

nature held place for you,
and for me
at home, together

while we healed and learned
and read books, Reikied over everything
while the highest light guided
and nature divided
the space opened and closed
into the shapes of waterfalls

different edges and

how when painting everything is seen first
as a geometric shape
and then
fleshed out,
drawn, stretched, applied,
revealed as nuance,

light shining
light shimmering

and the green gushing
clay cliffs
on the road to Hana
twisted
forming snapshots – would keep an
editor busy for hours,

but i don’t have any reason
to edit

not today
not when more work is around the bend
and poems to be written
and people to see.

blogs to visit
and new names to learn, books to read
at a pace that, that only mercury retrograde
would allow.

Taurus was New, sculpting my memories
of sound, art
in darkness,
and each thing I ever made

came back to life.

the way the sun rises
the poetry is good
because life is written in it.

and the music playing is always the right song.

Tap roots run deep.

Ease and grace flow,
Into the sanctuary of Self

Deep, dark red, deep.

All senses return to the Source.

Not a sound or noise in the universe.

The red velvet of this private
Interior provides warmth,
And humble retreat.

There’s no asking. No needs.
No one to see.

The ‘Slow Down’ on Sun in Taurus: Protecting Personal Space

The moon is in Virgo now (Moon trine Sun) and my attention can easily be turned to the affairs of my daily life. My own personal challenges are stabilizing again and the sunny San Diego sky is shining in my living room. My orchids and Felicia, my special aloe, are happy. One of my friends really enjoys the acronym “ADL.” I suppose, so do I.

Activities of Daily Living are those things that you do that can also be considered ritual. Our ADLs relate to health, what we eat, how we preserve space/energy (Taurus). Some people have very fixed patterns here, and others don’t. There’s really no “good” or “bad” to it – it’s mostly about how well it suits you as an individual, and then, of course within your surroundings (the other people, plants, and animals with whom you are in relationship).

After all, one thing is defined in relationship to another, so I’m talking about all the Earth signs, together.

Taurus-Virgo-Capricorn Triangle

We can build trust/substance/material (Taurus) from our ADLs (Virgo) by some way or method. Here’s another natural trine: the earth elements. It doesn’t matter what the transits are doing, if you can tap into the natural trines for flow, the natural squares for challenge and growth, the oppositions for clarity, and the grand-crosses for ass-kicking-wake-up-a-thons (square-square-square-square) – four 90 degree angles or two lines perpendicular to one another makes ONE beautiful cross.

Finally, to close the triangle part of the discussion, let’s add-in Capricorn – structure. Capricorn represents the “bones,” or the scaffolding of life. If you like to mix metaphors as I do for fun, personal entertainment, and/or experimental reasons.

Walking Meditation – Going slowly

I choose walking meditation to contemplate each step, as my healing (Virgo) takes place. A special ‘Thank you’ to anyone who supported me with kind vibes, thoughts, or left little notes to me wishing me well. The first time around (with the pain), I just dealt with it “all by myself,” preferring to share it with only one or two people. But, as a friend told me yesterday, this is just what we do…as friends. So, thank you for being present with me through any ups and downs. Heres or theres.

Finally, as a result of today’s blog and thought processes, I was able to make the following discovery

http://arxiv.org/pdf/cs/9904004.pdf

It is an interesting paper on mixed metaphors. I’ll need more time reading it – but for now – I’ve got to move on to other ADLs.

Enter the Earth Goddess: From Self to Community and Back Again…Love Circle <3

Seen and Unseen on the Earth Plane & in Cyberspace: Solar Eclipse in Taurus, April 28th

Last week, I spent some time just really reconnecting within myself. I focused on my diet, my schedule, and on my being. This place that I “go to” is a space of creativity, on another plane of existence – although, no one would realize that this is what I’m doing when I shift my consciousness into these states. It’s not for anyone to understand per se. It’s mostly a hidden dance; it requires a level of focus and detachment to present myself in this way to my Self.

Setting up a great amount of space is necessary for dutiful work, and protecting that space is necessary for the being-ness within it. This is the responsible thing to do when engaging with deeply transformative energy.

I bring back with me things, wisdom, or actual objects. Creatures can show up in relationship to movements in consciousness. Sometimes the quality of light is different, or the vibrations emanating from my body are measurably stronger. So, I set up the space (and the time), but what happens within it – is not of my making.

This experience is something that I can commence almost anywhere, but this time, and a lot of the time, I really wanted to be initiate the experience in the woods. I can do it from my couch if I want, but there’s a Spirit request that I’m replying to – and that’s not always easy to put into words for anyone. In fact, it is rarely possible, and I question if it’s necessary. Those who know – know. If you’ve experienced something like this, then you know what I am talking about.

There’s a level of control that seems to improve and become more advanced with time, regardless of conscious effort – there is the existence of unconscious effort. Certainly, conscious effort helps the entire process and programs the unconscious, but one has to be careful not to step beyond the state of receptivity, and get too ‘active’ and try to control the delicate and yet powerful resource that is subtle energy.

The best description for the process of gaining control within the experience of these processes is through the rhythm of dancing in accordance with Essence.

How Magical this is, but it may not seem that way to everyone.

I do notice, however, that artists, writers, musicians, photographers, healers, meditators, and dancers (of course!) often are compelled into these magical states. It seems most natural to experience alternate states from this practice of receptivity. It’s through participating receptively that the subtle consciousness –the subtle body gets involved. Here, we can enter the doorway for using the body to transcend the body.

Since our bodies are fabulous chemical, electrical, magnetic and substantive laboratories, achieving changes in consciousness can begin and even end by manipulating this laboratory. The energy of the planets and the movement of heavens affect our bodies. A run or jog, moments at the gym, or holding your breath under water can affect changes in your consciousness. This is magical, indeed, but the method itself is ordinary.

Ceremony

Nothing is more powerful than ceremony for bringing in shifts to states of consciousness. I’ve participated in Native American medicine wheel ceremonies and in homemade ceremonies. Spirit has called me to conduct small-scale ceremonies or host spiritual energy for the healing of friends and loved ones. I had an amazing ceremony with some wonderful friends before I left for Kauai in 2011, and was able to bring many gifts there to the island as a result of our gathering beforehand. I left offerings in Kauai at a sacred location on behalf of those who participated, and to the waters in a separate ceremony that I was called to do by myself.

I’m really looking forward to seeing others from ‘my tribe’ this weekend when I visit.

New energies and bonds are forming now, as precious new energies enter the landscape. From a distance I can see how I’ve connected people together just by being a common friend, or thread.

Friendship

There’s a saying that I liked for some time now:

“It takes a long time to grow an old friend,” by John Leonard.

While I’ve felt blessed in my life with a multitude of fast and yet deeply profound acquaintanceships, and have had so many magical and interesting exchanges with strangers (this is my specialty – with an Aquarius South Node and Aquarius rising), something’s been missing.

What’s been missing are the slow movements of Taurus, the plodding and tireless stubborn commitment of Taurus – the time it takes for me to trust, find words, exchange words, and just be in the group or focused on friendship.

Receptivity to the present moment is a gift that means you don’t look to see who is around you for you. You look just to look. However, sometimes, this looking can distract you from Self. So this is the beautiful process of distraction and re-attraction to Self, Spirit, whatever is Source for you.

Just look at the other arms of the fixed cross: the rich intimacy in Scorpio needs the complementary slow and consistent pace of Taurus. I like Taurus. It’s where Chiron was positioned at my birth. Chiron squares my nodes. I pay attention to this, and let myself be wounded by moving too fast; then, I slow down again.

Remembering my cancer moon is sensitive to space and is very nurturing, and doesn’t like it when things get too rowdy. My 9th house Uranus (my Ascendant ruler) is into Jupiter-type stuff, and has become quite optimistic about it all. Right now, Jupiter is in tight conjunction with my natal moon – personal planet on a Grand Cross show down. WELCOME! ♥ If you’ve made it here, and you are still reading, I love you already!! We all want to be heard!  It just feels good!

Community

Recently, I received a kind mention and an invitation from one of my blogging friends, Linda Lite Being; and, I’m super touched~ Normally, I wouldn’t participate in this kind of thing just because [insert legitimate excuse], but this one is unique because it’s about GODDESSES and SISTERHOOD! Also, I will be posting about a number of blogs that I enjoy reading, and people (women writers) who have captured my interest and attention.

What Linda wrote on her own blog regarding Goddesses is so perfect, something I could have written about myself (but I didn’t have to, Linda did – and flawlessly) Linda’s words, not mine:

…“Spent many years regarding more of my male friends as true like-minded companions. It was most often in those alliances that I found people who loved to discuss complex ideas, go on wild adventures, and treat me with respect, loyalty, and affection. They knew the real me and had my back, like a fun yet protective older brother. I noticed much more competition and superficiality among my female peers. It seemed that true sisterhood was a rare treasure among plastic imitations. Let’s call them the Earth Goddesses.  It was later in life that I was able to find more of those qualities in the women I met. As you know, anything of true value is worth waiting for. With my sisterhood, this is also the case.”…

Visit her blog here: http://lindalitebeing.wordpress.com/2014/04/20/for-goddesses-everywhere/

ARIADNE, VENUS AND BACCHUS BY TINTORETTO (1518-1594)

“Beautiful colors can be bought in the shops on the Riato, but good drawing can only be bought from the casket of the artist’s talent with patient study and nights without sleep.”   ~ Tintoretto   (such is the tenacity of Saturn and the depth of Pluto, influencing this full moon)

As I sit to write about the full moon in Taurus on November 17, 2013 PST at 7:16am and UT 15:16, I’m savoring some wonderful aspects. Mercury is trine Neptune after just turning direct in the sky on the 11th, providing forward momentum in the mental clarity department. Mercury and Neptune are conjunct the North Node (the future direction), and so some of the fog and uneasiness of the solar eclipse experience is lifting. Also, Neptune will be turning direct on the 14th of the month—bringing some “AHA” moments and spiritual insights during a time of continued dramatic and dynamic change (Uranus square Pluto).

*Sigh* Taurus is an energy for sensuality.  It is the experience of the material world of the senses, of the sounds, of tastes, the smells, and the touches. It is the ability to savor a thing or two.

Sure, we still have Saturn conjunct the Sun, keeping us busy working and keeping us from indulging too much (Taurus). Saturn is, however, sending super-friendly trine vibes to Pluto/Venus (which are currently side-by-side), Jupiter, and Mars at the full moon. I try to remind everyone that Saturn isn’t “the bad guy.” In this case, Saturn is still keeping things strong while other planetary actors are involved in some ruckus. Whenever Venus is aspected like it is, relationships are effected. In this case, it looks like relationships are being re-arranged. With Venus square Uranus, the keyword is WEIRD.

Huge transformations in the relationships department–not just romantic, these are transformations that are long overdue and likely to be long-lasting.  Mars in Virgo is where to put the energy, into exercise, work, and analysis. Virgo symbolizes the mentality, using discretion and clarity. It is also an earth sign which goes so nicely with our earthy Taurus full moon. One way or another, this full moon will stir your senses to eat, decorate, and/or make love. ~maybe even desire chocolate 🙂 Taurus (by itself) is a lazy energy, a slow moving and reliable sort of settle-down-and-get-cozy, energy. It’s a good time to write poetry, enjoy music, savor good cooking, and take in all the smells of autumn…

Aloha, Mahalo, New Moon in Taurus

New Moon in Taurus:

Currently, I am on a spiritual journey on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. I’ve visited Buddhist and Hindu temples, and paid tribute to the ancestors at ancient Hawaiian heiaus (temples), experiencing my own re-birth, in many ways. At moments, the movements of my spirit were even invisible to me. This is a time of great portent, and deep release. Please see this website for New Moon information. I will be in ceremony on Anini Beach on May 2th.

Blessed be.  Always Aloha
