Simplicity

Original watercolour on thick aquarelle paper, 28 x 39 cm Sale at: http://www.yayateahouse.co.nz/Tea-Art-1.php

While it looks like the monk in the picture above is resting and peaceful, most likely his appearance of “rest” is the result of hard work, born from his/her commitment to the ritual of tea drinking.

When one works repetitively and consistently at a task, the result – even with the natural correction of the environment on his/her actions – is grace-in-movement, movement with rounded edges.

The ruler of this full moon in Capricorn is the planet Saturn. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of Saturn. Time and time again, Saturn has shown me that whenever I work hard and commit myself to a task or a project, I am always rewarded. The heart has to be into it; that’s the commitment, and then there’s solid ground. I’m reminded of the ancient Egyptians who weigh at death the heart against the feather of Ma’at. Perhaps it is in this spirit of inevitability (death, Saturn) that we learn the true nature of our hearts. Interestingly, the ancient Egyptians and Romans used to worship Saturn as the Sun God, and the holiday of Saturnalia was around the time of the Winter Solstice but varied in length – sometimes continuing up until December 25th, when the sun is in Capricorn. I was surprised to see this relationship between Saturn and the Sun/Son. In the Kabbalah, Saturn is related to the sepiroth of Binah, which equates to wisdom and understanding. See more links at the end for information on Saturn in religious/occult history.

Saturn asks you to find your heart. Find your ‘why.’ This is not your philosophical ‘why,’ but your ‘reason to action.’

Saturn is solid, linked to the metal ‘lead’ in ancient alchemy, and is very ‘grounding’ to be quite honest, even sobering. Perhaps the most well-known astrological text on the re-visioning of Saturn is by Liz Greene called, Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil, originally published in 1976. Her take is largely influenced by Carl Jung and presents Saturn as an archetype, representing a psychic process; and therefore having psychic meaning beyond its traditional astrological association as a malefic, can be beneficial. Greene introduces her book with a quote from the late esoteric astrologer, Alice A. Bailey [1880-1949].

When the disciple knows Saturn as the God
who offers opportunity and does not only feel him to be Deity
who brings disaster, then he is on the path of discipleship in truth
and in deed and not just theoretically.

All astrological traditions are not perfectly alike, and the newest age astrology has been changing rapidly. Some astrologers stick to the planets in their interpretation of psychic forces, others reach to interpret every space object that has been named and/or numbered for some representative psychic phenomena/force in the collective consciousness’s puzzle. In the Chinese Tradition, Saturn relates to the element “Earth” just as in Western Astrology. However, in Chinese astrology, Saturn relates to the Stomach and Spleen; its color is Yellow. Its direction is CENTER. In Western Astrology, Saturn rules the skeleton.

Saturn/Capricorn represents the fundaments, the structural framework of your life. It can look different for everyone individually, and often does! The way we relate to metaphor/archetype is colored by the orchestra of our charts taken as a whole – and those experiences it represents. Therefore, writing here generally on the full moon can only be just that: administered with broad strokes. In this case, I’ve encountered new ways to discuss what for me is an old subject. There’s a lot left to be defined, understood, and relegated into a complete cosmological picture of meaning. I’m not so sure I’m interested in being that ‘tidy’ these days. I don’t prefer comprehensive explanations, but I do have a certain appreciation for the simplistic. That said, I’ve never found my study of astrology to be simple…

When thinking of Capricorn, think of the mountain goat! My favorite animal representative for this sign. Capricorn is about focus, having your mental bullet-points ready, following a specific and complete checklist. It’s where things are clearly defined and there’s organizational conformity. When one is fully balanced in the assemblage of all the archetypes, Capricorn gives us the sense of ‘I CAN’ to reach beyond ‘perceived obstacles (limits)’ and triumph in the face of all obstacles (known and unknown). Overall, a pretty cool energy; pretty bad ass, to use a popular label…and something we are all familiar with. There’s a growing need for more bad asses on the planet. That’s for sure. We’re no longer talking about the saturnine archetype that keeps us down! No, no.

Mastering Saturn/Capricorn is mastering thyself in the mirror of the world, being the commanding authority in one’s own life. As Saturn has related to the archetypal father-time, and as we all are experiencing, fathers are becoming increasingly more sensitive. More fathers are stay-at-home fathers. While a long way off from ‘perfect,’ our societal archetypes, roles, and norms are becoming less and less rigid. How can astrology deal with this new sense of fluidity? If Saturn/Capricorn itself is any representative of the frame supporting life, then Pluto is certainly redefining and transmuting this frame with its 15 year stay (2008-2023). Fatherhood will continue to undergo massive change in its meaning and expression, as all social roles evolve and adapt.

More general themes and observations: the archetype of Saturn, as I’ve experienced it – is one of consolidation. There’s this “putting it all together,” experience with a Capricornian practicality that no other sign’s energy can offers. However, with Pluto’s stay in Capricorn, “putting it all together” and getting a good grasp on ‘order and operations’ is less about ‘tried and true’ and more about a playing a game in a changing field of possibilities.

Also, there’s a compression with Saturn that can be both positive and negative. The positive aspect is the resulting action that is born from the discomfort, the negative aspect of compression. To me recognizing polarities is the pointer for finding the middle, like a string oscillating between two distances, there’s a back-and-forth motion that makes, “one sound” or “one frequency.” It’s a tone. That’s it! That’s the sound of one hand clapping…

Sun conjunct Mars in the sign of Cancer, and the drive is for comfort, safety, and the nurturing of family in the home. We all get to live a private life! No matter how socially connected we become, there’s an ‘inside’ that always requires attention.

We may be driven to clear out, resolve, and tidy our clutter and distractions with this full moon in Capricorn. The energy supports areas of life where we commit to building the foundations (structures) that are necessary for all the creative actions that come forth. With this Capricorn full moon we look at our systems, and the way we manage our personal needs. It’s a excellent reminder for scheduling in necessary playtime, leisure, and relaxation. Also, the emotional life ‘has life‘ at this time, but it has to serve in the worldly context and expression of Capricorn. Your signals to this emotional life during this full moon with the presence of Mars conjunct the Sun: agitation, drive, frustration, and even more likely, passion! With the sign of Cancer, think of needs, often emotional needs that fuel the work, and bring the projects into fruition. Again, this is our ‘why’ for doing what we do.

Finally with the Moon conjunct Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn we have a depth that we are capable of reaching into – and of purging, turning-over, and empowering.

Here’s the process: We’re going to use an Earthy Model

1). Discover.

a). Dig deep and find the stones: Pain, Sadness, Resisted ideas that we believe
b). Turn over the stones, what is underneath this emotion, this belief, what are the consequences of this belief?

2). Turnover the soil, and re-mix your findings. Put them into a new perspective:

a). Psychologically re-frame (re-pot whatever hasn’t been released, or shelve it..allow yourself some space from it. etc)
b). Use techniques: Emotional Freedom Technique EFT, Vipassana Meditation, Chant Mantras around it, Cry (Water it).

3). Embrace yourself fully – whatever you cannot or do not want to let go of.

a). Whatever we cannot let go of may be useful, honor the seeds of your new challenges.

4). Repeat steps 2 and 3.

5). Appreciate and congratulate yourself on what you have been able to release.

Repeat all steps as necessary; and at the end of the day, DO REST. Tuck yourself in. Let your Wei Qi return to your Dan Tien.

If Wu Wei is your Master, these are simple steps – ideas, or suggestions for what to do, while you are doing nothing!

Love to All….Happy Full Moon!

Namaste.

The original re-quest (during Mercury retrograde):

Dear friends,

I think it would be neat if you helped me with some art. In fact, it’s more of an interaction experiment; and I’m hoping that you’ll share in the comments your ideas, along with a link to your own blog post around a tree of your choice. I’ll be away for a little while, and I’m curious to see if, when I come back, there will be some more inspiration to finish my own tree. I like to see your ideas, expressions, thoughts, ruminatings, visions, photographs, inspirations, prophecies, recipes, potions, field guides, haikus, short fiction, novels,  Whatever.  If you participate, I will be very inspired, and I will finish my tree painting and turn it into a badge for you.

I’d like to ask you some questions [I decided to answer them, too]:

Our Tree Update & Happy New Moon in Gemini

Dear Friends,

Every other day I’ve been adding touches to my/our painting. I’ve spent about 10-15min per session, which includes mixing my acrylic paints to make the next touches. Today there were some interesting developments in the image.

Breathing in/out the pink of love from the center of oneness
Breathing in/out the pink of love from the center of oneness

In honor of this New Moon in Gemini, I will be sitting in silence and in awe. I am also getting my files in order; setting up my home office, as well as other ‘todo’ items involving space clearing and yes, you guessed it: study. Meanwhile, my plants that ‘felt grumbly’ during the move, they are coming back to life. Overall, I’m not having a bad experience with 3rd house ruled Gemini, involving Mars and other attributes in the new moon “landscape,” as well as continuous courage for rainbow warriors. I definitely found it necessary to ‘take a moment’ before proceeding, in the midst of my day. If you’d like to meditate with me, here is this guided meditation. This is good self-care.

Currently my blog has been undergoing some maintenance. A new background image from a Eucalyptus deglupta , a picture taken in the neighborhood, has been added. My blog is now lined with tree bark. As a result, I lost a few of my decorations. The Rainbow Eucalyptus has been in my consciousness for a couple of years now, as has been the Rudraksha tree, which is part of my tree project.  I suppose I am tracing back where my and, now, “our tree project” began – in my own life. I’m very much enjoying the story, the duality, the chores, and the brainstorming. Mercury retrograde afforded me this area of self-recognition, so I could see what I want to revise, and where I want to head next. While Mercury is still in “its shadow phase” I may not have ‘quite yet’ made any decisions with this new knowledge, but I’m okay with that. I have the spirit of my message nicely tucked into my heart.

Aloha nui Loa

Hugging

There are several posts today that I was going to do…
Rest assured, the inspiration will not be lost while in favor of sending out this post today. 😀
Mars/Sun conjunction in Gemini in my 5th house has me healing deeply and less deeply, even on the crusted over surface. I’ve been all fired up in the best way to create and paint and love all aspects of creation which have visited me throughout the years. I’ve been having a varied experience, and I am grateful for every *like* every comment, everyone who has been inspired by visiting or knowing Fiestaestrellas – in any way. My desire to hug you – all your beautiful trees, families, tears, visions… the moon has slipped into Gemini… and we are so fortunate for the levity while Saturn retrogrades back into Scorpio. Everyone in the neighborhood here is having a party of some sort! I’ve got to get back to studying, and secretly smiling all the time. Trust that you will keep your forward momentum, even if it looks like you are back-tracking… you are GOING DEEPER. BIG HUGS to all of you who inspire me EVERY DAY with your creations, your suggestions, your ability and capacity to be inspired, feel loved, feel supported, and flow with your warrior self into your own self-mastery. We are here to overcome & to love. I love my rainbow tribe!

Tree Project – Business Success Signature

IMG_8779

Dear Friends, Visitors, and New Followers,

I welcome you to my blog, and I wanted to share a little bit about my workshop this past weekend. I was waiting to “process” my experience, and looking for greater clarity in order to provide to you with “my product.”  However, I realized with Neptune turning retrograde, that I can only deliver to you “as I am.” So I will continue to do so…

IMG_8791 IMG_8790

I think when I photographed the two images above, I wasn’t all that concerned with getting the images to look clear. I’m pretty sure that most of my energy was involved in the workshop – releasing, realizing, and being present.

For all those who contributed to “my” tree-project; I dedicate my practice to you, as well as all the attunements I received while present. Of course, only Spirit and free-choice can deliver any offerings to you. Dedicating my work, and the merits of my practice is not a self-sacrificial thing to me; it’s in alignment with the truth for me about my relationship to this world, and those in it.

I had many reflections, and more reverberates through my being…

Many Blessings,

Ka

I played the middle

As one of many,
I played the middle.
Do you know how delicate it is
to have no opinion?

To be voiceless.
To suppress the ‘within’ in order
to not get smacked by the
‘without’ ?

Getting smacked hurts.
Maybe I deserved it.

Who is this ‘I’ ?
It does not matter. It is just
another story.

Who is this victim,
it does matter. In a totally
non-personalized sense: It matters, doesn’t it?
We care most about the people we don’t know!
Inter-family love is gorgeous. We learn to see eye-to eye.
Intra-family love does not go away. It’s impossible.

The victim is everyone.

Even when the little ‘i’ gets suppressed
Everyone suffers.
There is no way to ‘right’ a wrong.

There’s only to love.
There’s only to voice.
There’s only ho’pono’pono.

The middle is a fiddle
and once all the stagnation gets
broken up, once… then… oh, we’ll see.

Then we’ll re-arrange words
and hang up “Beauty” and “Love” Signs,
again. For now,
we’ve got bleeding.

The middle has blood.
Playing the middle is not the path.
Buddha suggests the center.

No one said, “don’t have an opinion”
They only implied it.

Tough Shit.I have blood, and skin. a beating heart.
I will use it ALL to say:

I Love you.
I’m sorry
Please forgive me.
Thank you.

This mission

When one chooses
to heal the wounds of their
family (themselves) by adopting 4 (all at once!)

They may be multiplying
issues.

When one chooses to heal
the work within
and not project it outside

they are not a martyr
They are doing the honest
work.

When one receives the invitation
to give more to the adopted
18 year old: in essence, “PAY attention to
the PARENT, and the PARENT’s choices”
We feel that
18 year old better not be sculpted into a pawn

as this youngest sister felt, was she.

A pawn to play the authorities with.
A pawn to acquire attention of the broken tree.
That hobbles along, being a family. Striking instead of
embracing. Using pictures as commodity.
Who does that?!

A voice can be lost in the masses
not wishing to cause further hurt,
but looking for an outlet. A way to honor
that pain can be turned into healing.

A way to heal..
The mission is only and ever has only
been, and to be “Healer Heal THYSELF.”

Please don’t make politics of your children. Who am I to judge?

Come my friend and follow me
Sit beneath the wisdom tree
Feel its bark so rough to touch
Tell it what you need so much

Feel thebranches shade you now
Whispering to tell you how
Telling you just where and when
You can hope and dream again

Wisdom tree will tell you all
You won’t stumble less you fall
He will grant a wish or two
So that you can see this through

Life’s been hard and so unkind
Now it’s time to free your mind
Good times coming, they are due
And they wait right now for you

Wave the wisdom tree goodbye
He has told you not to cry
Dreams and wishes come your way
Go and face a brand new day

Puppy Love

Hi Michael,
Beautiful poem. Interesting story that I’ve (we’ve) been thinking about getting a puppy. Of course, it’s just that desire to continue filling the space with love, I guess. Met my first neighbor-friend yesterday and it seems with some of the newest friends I’ve made lately; we just talk about dogs. I don’t know if this really happened to you or is just creative expression of all the happenings; but your poem reminds me of all the dogs I’ve ever loved; and that it’s very much in my thought-process, even when it’s least likely to happen. Love the new blog layout.
Love, Ka

Hafiz picked me up
and drove me out into the countryside,
aiming the right front tire
for every mud puddle he could find,
and filling the rearview mirror
with volley after volley of clay starbursts.

Then, much to the relief
of both my kidneys and
the vehicle’s suspension,
we came across a dog breeder
and popped in to say hello.
After a cup of tea
and a profound discussion
of canine nutrition,
she invited us to see the stock.
We stepped outside
and she whistled like an old school
basketball coach.
All the little pups came running.
They lined up in a row
and plopped down on their
well-trained haunches,
head up, chest out, and eyes wide.
As we went down the line
they smiled ear to ear
like they couldn’t stand it anymore
and made puppy growls and yips
and bounced in place or fell over sideways
and licked our…

Billiard Balls and Astrology

Dear friends,

My mind is not on studying, and this makes me sad. Usually I like studying. I enjoy it. Not right now… right now I just want to be inspired, every single moment. I want to create something – or I get thoughts about things. For instance, this past weekend my husband and I went to go shoot some pool. You know, billiards!?  I always think of the planets when I am shooting pool.

I hadn’t played pool in a long time, but for some reason – including my mystery beer: Fat tire, helped. Actually, I only had one beer. That’s all I needed to have a really good game. All the “long-shots” that I ended up taking were really good. I am sort of teaching my husband how to play pool. Luckily, he’s a quick study.

So, astrology and billiard balls…. It’s all about geometry, angles, and putting “English” on the ball!

So, no… I’ve never played in a pool league. But, I still do have some divine moments 😉 It’s pretty fun to have a witness! Can I have a witness?!

Have fun today Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius…

Also, I think now I can get to studying.

Full Moon in Sagittarius

Full Moon in Sagittarius.

Please click on the link above and read Gray Crawford’s take on Full Moon in Sagittarius. It’s the best I’ve seen right now. Absolutely spot on.

Great Jean-Michel Basquiat images, too. When I used to live in Pittsburgh I would visit the Andy Warhol museum and view their collaborative work.

What a fantastic post delivering the astrological themes at work/play at the moment.

My original blog intention & Full Moon in Sagittarius

My original intention when starting this blog was to write about the new/full moon phases. I also was originally interested in educating people about astrology, as I have known it and studied it for… as long as I can remember. I think this inspiration sprung up from my work tutoring kids, and a group of refugee high-school students from Burma a few years ago (2011).

I was nudged and guided to begin this blog when Uranus moved into Aries – Many of us here know how guidance does this… Also, I was in a sangha for a number of years and decided to make a longer-term meditation based on astrological themes (as I had been noticing that despite a million fluctuations in my life and a million different jobs/hats (a non-specific number for now – i am most-certainly using hyperbole), astrology was always there to some degree in my life, leading me by the hand, when no other hand would do).

Now, I must tell you: astrology requires study; and not just study of astrology itself. It’s a subject that tends to require a long-term work: on self. To me, the definition of astrologer is “one who studies astrology.”  I don’t believe that you are ever done studying. That’s why an astrologer is, in many ways, a lifetime study (and probably going beyond that via lifetimes) in either direction.  Mine just happened to start before I knew anything else. It started with Rosicrucianism. That’s all I am permitted to say, directly – at this time.

Back to the blog, I originally started opening up my astrological services to the public, but that quickly became, for me, too challenging to balance with school. I needed to be the student, again, completely. However, a graduate student is a different kind of student; it’s a student who also practices. Still, I am in the beginning of my graduate student studies, and ever so quickly transitioning yet again.

Back to the basics and the original intention

When I was a young child, I was taught some very sacred things that I do not remember mostly. Maybe it’s for the best, okay? I’m sure that we were all taught, or understand/understood very sacred things. After all, at that time, we were able to see things best through the eyes of a child. We saw through everything, easily – and without effort. Also, children often don’t realize the effort that they are exerting, because they experience everything as play.

For children, their performance is easily rewarded by those who wish to encourage and support the budding life. We all want to see blooms!

Well, we also need roots! To me, those roots are study and meditation.

I committed myself to doing the lunation posts because (and if you look back, they are there in some capacity), because my natal moon is in the sign of Cancer, as are my natal Mercury, and Venus. To say that I am an empath, IS an understatement.

I felt the solar energy of my sun sign in Leo was shining pretty comfortably in my life, and I wanted to “work on this facet of my life,” my ‘feminine aspect.’ I felt that the SUN was there, everyday, already. But now, Leo’s coming back, and doesn’t want to be a king. Leo just wants to be accepted for being.

So, I may be bringing you daily posts, but I haven’t worked out the details yet. I am also excited about the prospects of continued re-blogging, and the tree project that I’ve been working on. It actually has to do with my Jupiter placement’s sabian symbol. Definitely that one is for another post. But, as you know, everything changes and shifts. So, everything is technically “up in the air.” I’m revisiting old poetry, old songs. I’m singing at the top of my lungs in the car again!!! YES!

There is always a vision. I have my own, but there’s also one that I am not fully aware of 24/7.  So, that being said. I just wanted to share this with you, too link, and get back to my studying:

children studying

I will be re-blogging more, and posting more… I’m sorry. I just gotta have more cowbell. Please don’t feel obligated in anyway to comment. Just know that I will be around to visit you all, because we are family.

Happy Near Full Moon in Sagittarius. Contemplating the stars… and ‘BEING’ me… in full.

This Post is via invitation of Sindy over at https://bluebutterfliesandme.wordpress.com/   to go Retro In honour of Mercury Retrograde, Sindy has invited me to re-blog or re-fresh, or re-fresh a post from my archives .. I spent a while choosing which I should share and chose this.. one below.. Why? because I am into my own ‘Creative’ mood again, but I also realise that everything is only on loan..  As we learn to let things Go, and the Monks show us several of the traits I have posted on recently..
